i like the new look, glossy kinda silver.. the whole browser on the left, more ergonomically pleasing :)

Is this the new Snow Leopard look? I haven't seen Snow Leopard yet -- it's waiting for me at home to install after work.

Does anyone else have the dark line I mentioned? Right through the middle of the song info window, you can see it clearly running through the Apple logo in my screenshot.

See here:

Just tried to update my iPhone to 3.1 and after downloading my phone could not be updated. It then went into restore mode! What!!! Anyone else having problems?

Don't know if this is new in iTunes 9 or not, but the About window has a copyright noticed that includes Blu-Ray along with the other standards inside iTunes.

Surely this means something?

Blu-Ray support was a rumored new feature - I wonder if it's really in there?

It's a gloss effect.

Seriously, some folk are deluded.

It's not a gloss effect, it runs the entire length of the application ... it's merely more noticeable in the song info window.

It's a gradient issue, it's not a "gloss effect". It's a big, dark, manky bar ffs.

iTunes 9 supports aacPlus streams now! I'm pretty sure 8 didn't have this. Now I can stream GrooveSalad at 48 kpbs and it sounds awesome :D

Dude, there is a new gradient and that "dark band" in the display is a gloss effect....

But before I couldn't share apps between my wife and I even though we're both authorized on each other's computers. Before if I, say pulled Bejeweled from her and stuck it in my library it would toss out an "this application cannot be installed on this device" error.

If you and your wife are on the same itunes account then you could just download the app via her phone or iPod and it would be free of charge, if it was another iTunes account then you would have to pay again and the home share wouldn't work either.

anyone an idea how to get the new itunes lp view of an album? or is it only available for future albums im going to buy?

App Organization NOT ENOUGH

Although this was an attempt at satisfying the many of iphone users, including myself, who have been completely dumbfounded by the lack of iphone app organization through itunes thus far, this new iTunes 9 iphone organization ability is a far cry from the usually feature rich apple ideas.

It is nice that I now have the ability to move applications and pages around from iTunes, however, it is the same tedious process used to organize applications from the iphone itself. Where is the Auto-organization by category, name, etc? Where are folders?

This, to me, seems almost like a slap in the customers face. We heard you consumer so here is organization slapped together at the last minute. This is like a term paper for an english class, written the night before the due date.

It is not like people have not been willing to offer apple suggestions, ideas, comments or concerns regarding application organization. There have even been demonstrations online of wonderful organization methods. Apple executives KNOW what we want!

This attempt is pathetic at best and will not due in my book, as I am sure many others will agree. I hope this does not come off as though i am not grateful for the new feature addition, however, you cannot sit here and tell me that someone in the apple design team did not mention on how feature lacking this application management was at the time of creation. This is SO un-apple.

What the hell happened. iTunes 9's GUI looks like it was done by a third rate company. The buttons look ugly, the background is now white which looks cheap, and the status bar is just plain awful. I love the new fetaures, but the GUI is butt ugly now.

Sure your monitor isn't set on 256 colours? :p

iTunes and the screenshot look great on my moniter - no line on the metallic bit - and just a 2.0 glossy bezel effect on the info pannel - is your monitor on the out-of-the-box colour settings?

Wow, I just installed it and I'm shocked! I think the grey top bar is ugly, too much shine in the gradient. Why not let it look the same as other OS X windows? Also the white @ grid view is not good choice. :( I will try to put version 8 back, I don't like this new one.

I don't understand why companies like Apple and Sony[1] keeps adding minor 'enhancements' like extra glow and shine on icons, just to add something.
[1] Have you guys seen the new 3.0 firmware of Playstation3? They added a lot of glow and bevel on the same icons, and made them uglier. It's like the basic lesson in design: don't anything extra if it doesn't add any value.

Wow, I can't believe they removed the handy slider to adjust thumbnail size in the grid view. :S

You have to specifically buy the iTunes lp, the question is how these tracks are handled when synced to iPods ect ect

I can't seem to edit the tags in any tv shows or movies with the update. Anybody else?

The new home sharing feature is awesome. I've needed this for years. No more having to copy libraries between Macs and losing purchased content.

Thank you, Apple. Also, digging the new WebKit iTunes Store (much faster).
