I hope that's true. I'm in NYC, and was quoted a Wednesday delivery. If these threads are to be believed, that means my phone is currently en route to Alaska somewhere over the Pacific Ocean. I find it hard to believe it's going to get to Alaska, then Texas, then NY, then on a truck in time to make a business hours delivery tomorrow. I suppose it's possible, but I'm expecting to probably receive it Thursday.

This is the flight i've been watching. It is the only UPS flight I could find that left within the time frame that matches my departure. 99% positive that's our flight. I put my order for hold at UPS facility - should be in my city by late tonight or first thing in the morning (i hope!).
First off, its Kentucky not Texas. And mine made it to DC so NYC isn't any further considering its flown from Louisville.
It will get to Louisville around 1am local time and then be sent to various regional hubs. For NYC that is Newark which is a very short flight. Easily can be in NYC area by 4-5am at which point it has all day to deliver. UPS delivers to my apt building up to 6-7pm on some days so certainly plausible. That said, one missed connection and Thursday will be the day.
Mine still says tomorrow but the lady assured me they would deliver it this afternoon...
I wonder if it will change the status on tracking when it goes out for delivery? How late will UPS deliver?

Out for Delivery in Birmingham (32gb black ATT.) UPS usually doesn't get to my area until around 7, so a few more hours wait. Still impressed by the overnight run from Korea to bama!
Ordered at midnight PDT, received confirmation at 1am. iPhone has been preparing to ship since Sunday with no movement since. The case shipped Saturday but didn't move until yesterday and showed up today. Any chance it's moving or is this "normal" for Apple? The local Apple store has had stock both yesterday and today but because they marked it as "preparing" to ship (for over 48hrs now) I can't cancel it. I've never had a problem with Apple pre-orders but they did a terrible job this time around.

Early this morning I received an SMS update from Apple saying delivery was Wednesday.
Later today, I received SMS updates from both UPS and Apple that delivery would be today! Two from UPS, in fact: the first saying "by the end of the day" and the second "between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.".
But since the wee hours this morning, UPS's tracker shows my phone's last location as UPS's import hub in Louisville, KY at about 5:16 a.m. local (meaning, presumably, Louisville) time, with a status of "The scheduled connection was missed."
?? ...It's not clear if that means it didn't make it onto a plane it was supposed to be on, or that it did but wasn't scanned.
It's now noon here in California, and I'd expect further UPS location scans if it were going to be delivered today. Hope springs eternal, though...

Sorry if this is a newb question, but do all phones go from Alaska to Kentucky? I'm in San Diego and it seems counterintuitive for my phone to go to KY only to come all the way back here.

Yes, my phone is on the same plane. But my delivery is for tomorrow. Takes an extra day to travel back to CA.
It missed the connecting flight out of Ky. I'm in the same boat except mine always said delivery tomorrow and that still has not changed. I am hoping for delivery tomorrow In SoCal. Seems like many people have seen this message for their iPhone. Maybe they held a bunch of them up to load them up on the same flight tonight ???

Attention 32gb gold vzw people: I have no news for you! Lol. I called apple and they could give me no additional information other than it is prepared for shipment. I told her that many people were already getting their phones including people that ordered after me, but she just pointed out that the delivery date is still September 27 through October 1, which is technically true. However, it looks like it's going to be at least the latter part of that delivery estimate. I'm beginning to think that the one to three business days was a mistake for this model, and that it could be some significant time before we get our phones.
Yes. Via AT&T on the phone 1st try no go. Connected to iTunes on my MacBook Pro and activated in a minute or so. Now restoring from my old iPhone backup.

Mine is the 16gb tmobile gold.
My discover card actually showed the full amount charged Sunday night but today it's gone and when I contacted them they said the authorization went through but Apple will only charge it once it's shipped so evidently they haven't yet although there is no issue with payment.
