guys just wanted to say, before we all grab our phones and disappear into the ether...

i've bought iPhones every year but this is the first time ordering online like this. it's been so much fun stalking my phone and knowing there's a bunch of people stalking it with me gives me a lot of joy.

i just know that our phones are there somewhere in the sky chilling in the same pallet.... only to part ways once we get to kentucky

So how do I find out if there is a flight from KY to Orlando after 99 lands this morning? What's the site folks are using to see the various connection options?

(I'm on this evening's flight as well, slated for delivery between 2:30 - 6:30PM on Wednesday.)

Today's flights, so probably tomorrows too:

United Parcel Servi… UPS2326 MD11 Arrived Tue 04:15PM EDT 06:08PM EDT Tue
United Parcel Servi… UPS1326 MD11 Arrived Tue 03:58AM EDT 05:41AM EDT Tue

lol, there's a nice tracker on google if you type in UPS 99. Nice.

you guys. :D

+1!
Just joined macforums for this launch. It's awesome to talk to other people across the country who are apple obsessed like me. All my friends here think apple is stupid. Even my mother called me stupid when I called UPS today to change it to pick up because I can't wait 6 hours more. ugh. well it's my decision anyways

Gotcha. Searched 99 and it's still on the ground. This is my first time listening to ATC. It's pretty cool. I don't know how they understand eachother though. Voices are so muffled and they talk so fast, LOL.

The live atc site for Anchorage puts all the frequencies together, ground, tower, approach and departure. The actual flight crew tunes its radio and listens to only those that are applicable at any one time.

Thus what you are hearing is more rapid and complicated than what the crew hears. You can isolate the tower (the cleared to land/takeoff folks) by *just* listening to the left earpiece/channel as it is the only one on that side of the stream.

Live atc at other airports, MSP for example, let's you listen to them one at a time via different streams.

Thanks very much!! With a 1am arrival making a 4am connection shouldn't be a problem. Can't believe it will cross the country, literally corner-to-corner (Alaska --> Florida) in the time between my dinner and my breakfast.

Green with Envy

Fast hands get rewarded. Kudos to you guys! You're the batch whose it is okay to not have it on the first day but is secured that their iphone will come this week.

Does everyone have a Departure scan in Alaska? I only got the Arrival at 1:16pm local time

----------

Now I have to find the Louisville > Newark flight at 2am

I have 2:53 PM departure from Anchorage.

Unfortunately, freight flights aren't considered "scheduled" even if they pretty much fly the same route every day, so they won't show up in the flights scheduled to leave Louisville on Flightaware.

Same here, I hope they dont delay it. I dont see how itll make it from Alaska to Massachusetts in a day.

Well, from what I remember of previous years, the plane lands in Louisville around 1-2 am Eastern time, phones get sorted onto flights to various parts of the country, many of them fly out in the wee hours of the morning, like 3-5 am Eastern. I'm in NYC, so my phone flies to Newark, getting there around 7-9 am, and gets sorted onto delivery trucks in time to get delivered to me by the end of the day. Not sure what happens if you are not in a major metropolitan area, though. Maybe it'll take until Thursday.

(Oh, and my phone is also on the flight currently on way from Alaska to Louisville, just got a departure scan at Alaska.)

Last flight for my phone fellas. Once it hits Louisville it'll hop on a truck to STL 4 hrs away. Then I can pick it up at the hub here first thing in the AM.

Good luck to all and may your phones reach home safely. :)
