I think the whole thing is hilarious. iPhone 4 is lightyears ahead of anything. Every Android phone is a turd that's trying to compete with whatever model of iPhone was released 2 yrs ago.
Why, on an iPhone forum, are there so many Andriod defenders? Seems like they join just to start arguments. I'm not saying there is anything wrong with Andriod but there sure are alot of people that take issue with any negative critique of them.![]()
OK now I know your lying the Thunderbolt doesn't lag. It's on of the best phones you can buy, oh wait the battery life is a joke. But lagging is not an issue on it. And critics will say that the Samsung Galaxy S II has the iphone 4 beat. Try using a gingerbread phone rather than one of verizons mediocre phones. Right now verizon has no new phones that are up to par with the iphone 4. Sprints evo 3d is a good phone although gimmicky and the sensation is in a class of its own.
Don't judge android by the phones verizon has put out.

Samsung's Galaxy S beat out the iPhone to take the top spot in Consumer Reports' smartphone rankings.
Consumer Reports disagrees. They reviewed phones available in the US market, including the iPhone 4 and decided the Samsung Galaxy S is the best phone available.

Verizon is getting rid of unlimited data, so I decided to switch to Verizon before 7/7 to lock myself in for it. Seems like unlimited data is becoming a thing of the past here in the US. Sure theres Sprint, but Sprint coverage where I live and work absolutely suck.
Leaving behind AT&T and the iPhone 4 seemed painless. I picked up the Thunderbolt. Spec wise it dominated the iPhone 4: 8MP camera, 1GHz processor, 786MB RAM, swappable memory card, 4.3" screen, LTE (HOLY S%# is LTE fast where I live!).
Better is entirely subjective. Obviously the iPhone will best fit the needs of some, and the Android the needs of others, whereas some will be best served by a Nokia 2100 with terrific battery life.
As for me, the spec-hounds chasing higher GHz processors crack me up. The power onboard my iPhone 4 is just fine for the apps that I run and the single core doesn't require me to carry around a battery as big as my entire phone.
But yeah, I get that some people get all excited by specs, and for them the Samsung must be pretty attractive.
That was last year against the 3GS..
The magazine still does not recommend the iPhone 4, cautioning buyers against purchasing the device.
In July, Consumer Reports reported a hardware defect in the iPhone 4's antenna design, which caused the device to lose reception when held a certain way, prompting Apple to give away free cases to alleviate the problem.
It'll need at least 2-3 more years of VERY hard work to catch up to iOS.

The thing I LOVE about Android is the phones always keep improving in specs. Based on a hardware battle, Android usually wins. Why? Because manufacturers announce new products several times during the year. Apple only gets one shot with the iPhone per year. But with that said, Android OEM's do spread themselves too thinly.
Apple has only one iPhone to worry about. They can put their entire resources on one phone and have such an amazing attention to detail with it. Other competitors can't do this. Here is one example - Sony Ericsson. I personally think the XPERIA series are some of the best in class when it comes to overall design ever since the X1. I think the XPERIA Arc is one of the nicest phones I've ever seen. Sony can have an amazing design team as good as Apple when they focus on it. But guess what? SE used plastic on the Arc! Then when they show off a cheaper phone like the XPERIA ray, it has all the metal accents. And none of them are in the dual-core wars yet. Again, spreading your talents too thinly for each product.

I think the iPhone's only real weakness is something it actually makes the most profit on with apps - gaming. I like the games, but I feel a ton of them are just so shallow and feel some of them are pointless without real buttons. That is why I always go back checking on the underpowered Xperia Play or whatever successor it will have someday..,,
iPhone 4 + PS Vita - perfect gadget combination for the next FIVE YEARS! All my needs are fulfilled. I don't really care for 1080p video or an 8MP camera with pix that takes up more space. Alot of this newer stuff is upgrading for the sake of upgrading and craving for the latest and greatest. But do I really need these new features? I know people still happy with their first gen iPhone! People still used a RAZR for like 3-4 years. iOS 5 is not even optimized for dual-core right now and how big of an upgrade was an iPad 2 from the first one? I can see myself regularly using an iPhone 4 (as an iPod touch) and PS Vita even in 2015 by the time Marty McFly steals that Sports Almanac.
I had a ton of droids, sense ui, motoblur, etc.
switched to an iphone, and it is significantly better, the app store as well.
the only real thing Android has over iPhone is 4G LTE. LTE is ****ing fast
Exact same as you. Had the Droid 1, Droid 2, Droid X, and the Thunderbolt. Switched to an iPhone last week and I couldn't be happier, but as you said, the only thing I loved more about Android more than the iPhone was the fact that the Thunderbolt had 4G LTE which is fast as **** and makes Facebook, browsing, etc. feel blazing fast, but that will all change when the iPhone 6 is out next summer with 4G LTE connectivity (and yes, I am speculating that by next summer when the iPhone 6 is out it'll have 4G LTE connectivity since that was what happened with the iPhone 2 or 3... I forget which one).
Haha, I seriously can't wait until it's 4G. The battery on my Thunderbolt was awful, but the speeds were just incredible. Overtime I'm sure they'll manage something, especially Apple. I speculate June 2012 too.
Yeah man 4G LTE was friggin' awesome here in MA, and from what I read you're in your previous posts, you live in MA too (4G LTE Coverage in MA is pretty damn good... haven't been to a single place that didn't have it yet... Peabody, Beverly, Leominster, Danvers, Boston, Lynn... everywhere haha). I trade my Bolt for the iPhone for the exact reason you said: Battery life. Apple will most likely have it worked out come next year. We all know Apple would never release an iPhone with sucky battery life lol. Also, if a 4G LTE iPhone comes out in summer 2012 that works out perfectly for me since my upgrade is due on July 22, 2012 and from what I've heard, if you've got unlimited 3G (yes I said 3G) right now and you don't change your plan, but upgrade to a 4G phone after the tiered data plans go into effect on July 7th, you will be grandfathered into unlimited 4G and lastly, by next summer I'm expecting 4G LTE coverage to be much much better than it is now, and even at its current state 4G coverage is excellent for me lol.
Haha, yes for both of us! Weird thing is, my contract is up 3/15/12, so around the same date as you too! I think that we will be grandfathered into unlimited 4G, or else we could use this against them!

It states there that they are the same plans, so technically I should be able to keep my unlimited plan! (I need to get off these forums, but the weather is awful)
