"airport has been updated. Do you want to allow the new verison to access the same keychain (such as passwords) as the previous version?" "This change is permanent and affects all keychain items used by airport"

So the option isn't "yes" or "no" its "Don't Change" and "Change All". WTF? I want it to access the same keychains, how do I answer?

change all

Anyone elses mac re-index spotlight after the update?

Mine did, and it's now got rid of the lag when searching for files and opening apps.

It's freaking fast now, like literally 100% faster than before on my 2.0 MBP!

Eek! we're already at 10.4.8. I joined the Mac family at 10.3.7. I guess 10.4.9 will be somewhat large for both platforms/architectures since it'll be the last update before Leopard release at MWSF or in an April event

Hi, why will 10.4.9 be the last update before Leopard?

I hope we have at least a couple more updates, if I remember correctly 10.3.9 came out just before Tiger. We've got at least six months, probably more before Leopard so I think we would get up to 10.4.11 by then, maybe even 10.4.12 if we're lucky.

Ugh... same problem here. I tried rebooting, resetting the PRAM, and repairing permissions, all were no help. :(

Count me in for the color problem. MacBook screen now has a sickly blue cast.

I just havent seen Apple go past the .9 mark in a while then again there is a first time for everything. Personally i see it ending at .9 and then continuing with "Security Updates". Again this is my viewpoint/theory which could be wrong and usually is with Apple.

Well, Apple typically stops at 10.X.9 but it could happen. Im hoping they wont add more. Who knows, they might release Leopard in Jan or even Feb? So going too far beyond .9 might not be necessary. Im waiting for a Mac with Leopard on it so the sooner the better. :)

Mine got a grey screen of death while or after the update (was afk for a moment), but after the restart, I got to the grey apple screen, then it rebooted and everything runs fine now, 'about this mac' says I do run 10.4.8.

Hope everything's ok...

Yay! :D

System Prefs now have the Mighty Mouse zoom options for the wired MM.

Cool effect.

Still absolutely ticks me off that Apple doesn't support Mighty Mouse, or offer drivers for Panther natively.

I run both Panther and Tiger on my G5, and it drives me nuts that the mighty mouse is crippled in 10.3.9.

Glad to see that my version of Mac OS X is still getting security updates here and there.:D

I'm not upgrading until Leopard.

How is it crippled? My Mighty Mouse works just fine on my 10.3.9 Mac.

Opening word / excel etc used to take an eternity. Now its opening on the 2nd bounce on my MBP 2.16. This alone is an extraordinary improvement

So Far So Good

Just updated my 2ghz 20" imac from the combo ppc update with a run of Cocktail just before the update.

The reboot took double or triple the time to finish.

No problems at all - no improvements noted either. D200 RAW still works.

Looking forward to buying Apature when The Mother Ship releases updated MBPs.

Stay tuned for info in PB 17" 1.67ghz upgrade.

TCP SACK enabled

Well 10.4.8 brings TCP selective ack support to OSX. I'm happy :)

Safari may seem snappier, but only because the entire TCP stack is faster under certain conditions.

iSync still doesn't support my K800i. Brilliant.
indeed :( How hard is it for Apple to add support for a new cellphone? Especially that's it's similar to previous SE phones.
