Dude, if you hate it that much, go back to Windows - no one is stopping you. and as far as a GUI whim you talk about??? have you looked at MS lately? Every release for the past 2 years they changed something in the GUI. i had to upgrade from office 2003 to 2007 at work and I am lost as it functions totally different, and my needs to work (scanning directly into a document, and a few others) was removed. this morning I could not even copy and paste from word into outlook - had to reboot just to get that to work.
One thing to remember - Computers change as needs change and as the industry dictates. I do not mind if I have to right click, left click, etc. to me apple is a lot simpler to use, and more suffistocated when it comes to running a clean, easy to use system . I have yet to experiance a missing or corrupted dll like in windows. Native Apple apps are eloquent. I can see annoyances of relearning something, but I know alot of people were ticked when they upgraded their apps from VB6 to VB.NET, as the litttle upgrade utility broke more and it converted.
Get used to it, it is just the way of computers. If it were to stay the same, why upgrade??? You would then also not get the nice features that come with an upgrade. If the app totally does not work, then I can see gripes - if it is just a change in the way you do something or the screen looks a little different, well that is par for the course with any update/upgrade.
yes, updates changes things - get used to it or do not apply updates.
Atleast is a lot better than many open-source products where just about anyone can contribute. talk about some of your GUi and functionality changes from one version to the next.

Atleast with Apple, what goes into a product is controled and well tested. Most of the time if an update breaks something, it is because of a hack or something someone tweaked on their own.
Windows on the other hand - Updates just breaks stuff at every turn around.....
