10.5.8 you mean?

Yeah, that's odd. OS X 10.5.5, Finder was at version 10.5.6. Strange how it skipped 10.5.7..

10.5.7 was the version in the special build of 10.5.5 that came with the Unibody machines.

155MB to go over here...

Downloadin'

I'm downloading the update to, but mine is only 190MB?

I have the early 08 MBP 2,5GHz model.

Oh well.. installing now :p

I might be imagining this, but I'm 99% certain Safari is running 10 times quicker than it was before installing 10.5.6 - most sites are loading in the blink of an eye which they never used to.

I wonder what delayed it over the weekend, or are they just teasing the rumourmill? I have to admit if I had control over these things I would release things on different days to the rumours.

Its probably a good thing that I don't run a large company!

I really hope this fixes my issues with my ATI X1900 XT graphics card. That thing has been a real nightmare at times.

P-Worm

I would say this is unlikely to fix your X1900 card. Mine and many others started the wonky lines and all due to a hardware failure of the card and a replacement is the only way to fix it.

unified drivers ?

I wonder if this update will unify the (macbook in my case) driver base. I want to swap my 2006 macbook hd into my new unibody macbook without driver issues.

currently downloading 377mb on my macbook alu!!

What? Surely you're not implying that this update makes Safari "Snappier!" are you?

Safari does seem snappier and I'm not just continuing off this tradition - OS X in general seems a bit snappier.
