I wonder if this update will unify the (macbook in my case) driver base. I want to swap my 2006 macbook hd into my new unibody macbook without driver issues.

Just set your 2006 into Firewire target mode and boot your new Macbook off of it using firewire to try it first.... oh yeah THE NEW MACBOOKS DON'T HAVE FIREWIRE!!!!

;) Sorry couldn't resist...

because I got it like that... me and steve jobs are like this (demonstrates crossed fingers)

Not sure if you will see this, but can you go to Apple Trailers and watch any 1080p trailer, I usually watch Up or Ice Age.

See if you get consistent playback on the 9600 card (better performance). On the 9400 I can get it to play at a constant 24FPS, on the 9600, it is all over the place and choppy.

Safari does seem snappier and I'm not just continuing off this tradition - OS X in general seems a bit snappier.

On which sites? Are they heavily into Javascript? It's possible that Safari could be faster if Apple has updated the javascript engine.

Can you run some javascript benchmarks? Hmm hard to compare though if you've already updated. Pity I'm away from my Mac.

Can someone run SunSpider before and after updating?

This is the first update that didn't work for me. It hang during "Configuring your installation" after hitting restart when downloading is complete.

I'm going to old off on the update, my PM G5 has an uptime of 54 days and want to see how much longer it can go.

AT&T 3G Performance?!?

Improves reliability and performance for AT&T 3G cards.

Huh?
Are these different 3G cards than those used in iPhones?
If not, and they are the same cards, how would an OS update improve iPhone performance??

Maybe I need more coffee...

Nervous...

On the first reset it said it didn't work and encountered an error. It rebooted and I went back to install it and it's been stuck at "Configuring Installation" for over half an hour with no progress.

The USB kind you can plug into your laptop, nothing to do with iPhone

Yes, these are different 3G cards then the iPhone. You can buy USB network cards or ExpressCard's that connect to AT&T's 3G network for internet access.
