"This year's iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max are rumored to be getting bigger display sizes, going from 6.12- and 6.69-inches to 6.27- and 6.86-inches, respectively."

If you're going to recycle content, you might want to update the parts that need it... Just lazy.

Apple's iPhone development roadmap runs several years into the future and the company is continually working with suppliers on several successive iPhone models simultaneously, which is why we sometimes get rumored feature leaks so far ahead of launch. The iPhone 17 series is no different – already we have some idea of what to expect from Apple's 2025 smartphone lineup.

10 Reasons to Wait for Next Year's iPhone 17

The stories are really that slow? Couldn't just wait until pre-orders start and chat about how the delivery dates did or didn't slide out into future or something else?

Issues like Wi-Fi 7 are a bit dated, as it is confirmed now that the 16 has 7. Apple Wi-Fi chip may or may not be better.

I don't understand, two of the items contradict each other. One says that the Pro models will get under the screen Face ID leaving just a hole punch camera for iPhone 17 Pro / Pro Max, but then later another item says the Pro Max (only) will get a smaller Dynamic Island... if they will have only hole punch cameras why would they even have a physical Dynamic Island at all?

There are no guarantees that those 10 reasons will come through for the 17; I decide about what is available now. I just preordered the 16 Pro Max upgrading from 15 Pro Max for a larger screen, better battery, and better camera/photo/video technology.

...then we will see how much Apple actually believed in the "Dynamic Island." I predict it's gone, and Apple never looks back just like the MBP touchbar.

I'm conflicted on deciding between waiting it out for the DI to go away, or just getting the 16 now since it seems like it's going to be a long while.

I could wait for the 17, but what if I wait for the 20? Muahahhahahaahahahah. Oh wait. That just saves me money, since my current phone meets my needs. Cool.

Having re-read a month's old article that wasnt updated and the number of rumours now proven to be wrong...

Pass on not upgrading.

Just pre-ordered. Pickup on release day. Traded my 13 Pro Max. Happy days :)

hahhaah buy the smaller one then. they are the same in all respects (shorter battery life) but all else the same.

Indeed. Passing it on this year, but we'll see next!

Plus just spent $5k on airline tickets this morning....

passing on the release today. keeping my iPhone 12 Pro for another year. hope some of these features come on the 17 Pro.

Beside a 48 MP Tele for cropping there is no Single reason to wait for me.
But I will wait, too.
But I wait with an 16 Pro in my Pocket 😏

At this point for me, the features/specs aren't that big of a deal anymore, its the physical design that is the problem. I'm trying to hold out for the rounded sides to come back. I will probably pass on the 17 series also due to the flat sides with its sharp corners as I'm guessing they will still be there next year. The current phones are so uncomfortable to hold, I see no reason to get a new phone if that problem still exists. I currently have a 15 Plus and the "slightly" curved sides aren't an improvement over my previous 13, they need to curve the sides a lot more.

They also need to get the weight down on the Pro models.
