When saving a number and choosing a label such as main or mobile, there is a new label that says iPhone. Pretty handy.

That is pretty cool...did not notice but have changed wife/friends mobile to iPhone. Not a NF but is a nice addition!

Lost memory???

In FM, when I sum up free, inactive, active, and wired memory, I only get around 85MB. Why isn't it showing the full 128MB????

Of note, I restored from a previous 2.2 backup when upgrading to 3.0b2.

Also, I can reboot my phone, start playing music, and open ANY OTHER APP (native or otherwise), and it causes the iPod to crash....I think I want to downgrade.

There is no possible way for you to free up the full 128mb with the iPhone on. You would have FM open, the Spring Board, the Phone and other little things that you can not shut off. If you want to free all 128mb then, uhm, turn the phone off.:eek:

Restoring your phone as a new phone will get rid of your problems. You are trying to restore a working version with major beta changes in 3.0. Some of your apps are incompatable with 3.0 and cause the crashing and/or massive battery drain. The only way to fix is to restore as new and problem solved.

I see. And just to confirm, if I restore, will I be able to play music and do other things (at least sometimes)? The iPod app won't just automatically quit?

So far I have not had problems with 3.0 beta 2. With beta 1 it lost my music on my iPhone once and turned it into "Other" but I just restored again and it was all back.

The iPod Beta has a few bugs right now. Bug 1 is the A2DP bluetooth lags out and has long pauses when the iPhone goes to sleep. Bug 2 Played podcasts are resetting as new when you sync so it stays on your phone.

With headphones my music sounds better on the iPhone and works better then in the Buggy 8.1.1 iTunes which makes all of my music skip and stutter while playing. I have all of the iTune plus music and iTunes is playing it worse then 128bit.

If you restore, I believe the minimal bugs are a minor inconvenience to having all 3.0 functions.

I don't get drop outs unless I walk far away from my phone with 3.0 b2 in terms of A2DP.. I'm using the Sony DR-BT22 headphones.

Most of the time it doesn't seem to skip at all.. I heard it with some cheaper headphones.. but not these.

Sound quality is surprisingly good as well.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 3_0 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/528.18 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.1.1 Mobile/7A259g Safari/525.20)

Is it just me or has the sound you hear when sending an SMS vanished??

no one?????

Huh? I'm using Never right now.

Thank you for the correction...In beta 1 it was gone. I failed to go back after beta 2 and check so will update the front page.

If anyone else finds things wrong with any of my first page entries, please feel free to let me know so that the right info is going out. All I ask is that you are courteous about it and don't flame me when I am trying to do the right thing for all.

Have A Happy EASTER Weekend!!!

Can one forward SMS by simply swiping across a text message in 3.0? I would love to see this feature implemented in the OS instead of a jailbreak app.

not that i can tell.
in order to forward. you have to press the edit button, select the message then push forward which brings up a new message with the text in it then you select who you want to send it to.

CameraBag and Pro Camera are both crashing for me in 3.0b2.

Pro Camera shows a black screen when you open it, you have to go into settings to get the camera to activate and then it crashes when using the self timer.

CameraBag has always had crash problems, but now it crashes even more and i am unable to save any pictures.

MMS features are all currently consolidated under 1 NF entry.
Until MMS is completely opened up for beta WITHOUT moving SIM card and/or adding data to the iPhone, then I will not add new features to the front page. Again, we are doing this for what the average user would see/use, not the extremes to what some of us go to get things working.

I understand why you'd do this, but worth noting, I went to no such extremes, my MMS was working of it's own accord

Hopefully you will understand...Before I post something under my name, I want to be able to confirm it and see it for myself. That way if questions are asked or there are problems, then I can respond to the poster.

I got mms to work for one day and it has not worked since. I will NOT flash any files to my phone...it either works or it does not. Since it does not and I can not validate video or sound files, then I won't post as operational. I believe that is fair and the way it should be.

Hope you understand. If not, I am sorry but will post it when/if it starts working as it should.

Yeah no more swoosh. Just that tiny bar at the top of the SMS/MMS.

I know this is kind of small but I really hope this is temporary. That was one of my favorite sounds. :(

And I really hope they move the progress bar. Doesn't look right all crammed up top like that.

Yaaaay!!!

I just got a platronics bluetooth stereo headset, and it pairs beautifully. I am listening to music as my iphone charges. And I am able to walk quite a distance away, before it starts skipping.

Also is very clear when used with the phone.

One more reason that I am loving my iPhone!!!

Bugs in 3.0 b2:

-Bluetooth: When making the first call after connecting bluetooth earpiece, phone does not use bluetooth. You must manually switch to bluetooth. 2.0 would automatically route calls to bluetooth.

-"Return to Call" Green Bar: Hard to explain, but has anyone noticed that sometimes this bar will flash in such a way that it looks like the time is fading in and out, rather than the bar itself flashing green? And other times, it flashes as it used to in 2.0.

-iPod app: Sometimes even when "Shake to Shuffle" is off, shaking still shuffles.

-iPod app: Sometimes even when the iPod is on "Repeat one" (as in, repeat this song only) it will still switch to another song.

-Photos: Not necessarily a "bug" but Photos takes FOREVER to load sometimes.

-Lock phone in a call: Behaves VERY sporadically. Sometimes when youre in a call, and hit the lock button to lock the phone, it just... doest... do it.

-Phone app: Anyone noticed that sometimes when you go to the Keypad of the phone app, its just black? Going away from it and then returning fixes this, but still... a bug.

-Messages app: Deleting multiple messages; sometimes the red checkmark wont show up next to a message even though it is counted for deletion on the buttons below.

-Messages app: Deleting multiple messages; sometimes after doing this, blue "boxes" remain around the texts.

-Messages app: Responding to a message received when the phone is locked; when you swipe to see the message after receiving a text when the phone is locked, MOST of the time, the keyboard will not appear to be able to type a reply. Even after tapping the text entry area. Quitting out of Messages and going back, fixes this.

whats your point? it's a beta. of-course there are heaps of bugs.
