Has anyone else had this problem? Any video I record has a clicking sound in the background!

I have confirmed it's not the speaker, because I emailed myself the video, and I still hear the clicking. It happens with both cameras..

Here's the download of the video:

Maybe the Blair Witch is following you...

Seriously though, that sucks! I would definitely take it back if you could, sorry to hear that! I'm somewhat fearful that when I get my iPod Touch something will be wrong. Happend with my iPad so now I'm paranoid.

Good luck and sorry my friend.

Yeah.. Called up Apple first; The guy is having me do a quick factory settings reset. Then I'm going to try it, and if it still happens after that, I bring it back to the Apple store and they will swap it out no questions asked.

Did the reset work? I just tried my recording function and yeap, same clicking sound. Not happy. :(

Actually, the reset seemed to do the trick. What I had to do is restore from factory settings. Then simply instead of restoring from my backup, just manually re-add all my apps, music, etc back. We'll see if it continues to work.

Great news! I'm on the phone waiting for Apple support myself, he'll probably say the same thing. Did they say why this clicking thing happens?

He did not say why. The guy I got seemed to act like this was the first case he'd encountered with this problem. If you need help describing it, I best described it as a Static sounding click, about 2-3 times per second.

Uhh... Sorry to be the bringer of more bad news, but I just tried it again, and i've got the clicking. Looks like I'm still taking it back...

Sigh nooo. I'm on the phone right now and the guy hasn't said a word thus far. Just lots of silence..

Alright, the guy told me to try two solutions. Hard reset -- hold power + home button for 10 seconds. Must be 10 seconds! #2 is to restore to factory settings through iTunes. If it's still there... go exchange for a new one.

Or... is it meant to have a clicking noise? I see someone else has that problem too..

It's definitely not meant to have the noise... And as for what the Apple rep told you; that's exactly what my guy told me to do. Feel free to try it; but I had no success. It went away at least the first time I tested it, but I just tested again and it's back.

Alright, hard reset just failed. Time to restore to factory settings. @#$*#&! After I spent all day fiddling with music and apps too..

Ya... Take screenshots... I had to do the same thing..

Here is the video i took. I uploaded it to YouTube to see if the clicking was still there and while I thought it wasn't, if I turn it up a bit more, I can hear it.

Guess I'm glad I did put a lot of apps on this yet lol.

Yup... I hear it.

Sambow -- I hear your clicking as well.

I'd love to get other iPt4 owners in here. The clicking is very faint and subtle, but definitely audible if you turn it up. Does everyone have this problem?

System restore taking place...

Sorry for the double post, but first recording taking place and it's click free!

BJB -- how long did it take for your clicking to show up again?

Well. I just tested it again 5 hours after resetting and the first test. But it really should not take that long to happen. I would just try it a few times... Also take some pics.

I wonder if that has anything to do with it? Supremely stupid if that was the case though...

Three vids and eight pictures later, and eight minutes after restore, no clicking yet.
