I found that in my case the idle battery drain was caused by the Bluetooth connection to Apple Watch. If I simply switch off Bluetooth of the watch, it goes from 1~2% per hour to less than 0.5% per hour, with everything else on (LTE, WiFi, phone Bluetooth, mail fetch & background refresh).

Woke up to 100% for the first time today 👏🏽👏🏽 14.4 Beta 2

Did you try this during more than one night ? I wonder because I thought it was my connection with my Garmin watch that caused my drain, but after several over night testing I realised it wasn’t my Garmin causing my drain.

Yes, for over a week and it's repeatable. Even in the hours during the day when I don't use the phone much, turning off bluetooth on watch improves phone standby. But I guess everyone's situation can be different.

Yes, it’s seems to be different. I’m just trying to find a pattern but that’s difficult. There are so many differences between phones and drain.

After two months of buying tonight for the first time my iphone 12 mini lost 15% in 6 hours! It usually stopped at 4-6%.A very bad unexpected news!
iOS 14.2.1

I think I have found my drain issue. In network settings I had chosen 4G and some days ago I change it to 5G auto and my standbydrain was gone. Now I am at 4-5% every night

Oh no, with iOS14.4 the overnight battery drain is back. This morning is was 78% (just like 14.2) while in 14.3 it was max 95%. Anyone else noticed the same with this new version?

14.4 did not solve this for me. I had 14% brain drain over night. I usually keep my phone in airplane mode due to this and loses <4%.

I updated last night and tonight I only had 3% drain over 7 hours but I think I need some more testing before I believe it

After a very bizarre 100% battery drain overnight, this hasn't happened again after a complete erase of the phone, started new. The drain I have can be 5%, 1%, or 0%...it's a bit erratic.

Question, I do see SIRI running at various times as I sleep in the background overnight, why is that? Could be "1 minute" total at times it could be 1 min each hour. I'm not using Siri, I'm sleeping. 🤔

(Tile is the one app that needs to be open at all times which seems to cause a tiny drain right now)

Seeing exactly the same here.

Drained about 6% here last night. I used to see 0%...

Other thing I’ve noticed is that when waking up the screen the solid location icon is present for a few seconds which wasn’t the case prior to update. Most if not all of my location switches are off.

I am convinced this is a bug with some overnight process.

During the day yesterday, my iPhone 12 Pro sat on standby at 100% with no drain for 6 hours. Overnight it drained 6%. Airplane Mode was on the entire time, no other changes.

I totally agree with you. I’ve been leaving my phone off the charger overnight, I’ve said it above. I could have 4, 3, or even 0% drain (which was the case the past 2 nights) even after sleeping for 9 1/2 hours..still woke up on Sat. to 100% battery which was a shock.

But overnight Mon into Tues. (today) was 9%! (Huh!!?) 91% when I woke up at 7am. Nothing in the battery graph shows anything new or odd. The numbers are all over the place

Still would love to know why Siri randomly runs in the background. I was dead asleep between 4-5am.
Tile...I would love kill this app, but it has to run. (*The day I turn this off, will be the day I misplace my wallet - with the think Tile "credit card sized" BT device inside it.)

*I may grab 1...maybe 2 AirTags when they go on Pre-Order, I really need one of those for my keys. :)

Might have been getting some content updates or something. It was active for 1m in the background. Doesn’t look like it had a measurable impact on your phone.

I haven’t noticed any issues with standby drain on my 12PM. I usually charge at night but at my parents house there isn’t an outlet near the bed so I charge during the day. Never wake up to a low battery
