Installing it now, let's see how that goes tonight.
Please let us know how the new update is! Although I really don’t like updating because updates worsen the battery life each time. I remember when I first got 12 pro max, the battery was so impressive, then after a couple updates I started to wonder why battery % is so much lower at the end of the day now. I did reset all the setting thing and that made it worse. That’s why I decided to try out reinstalling the os from MacBook. It’s been pretty good and getting back the feeling of impressive battery life I had when I first got this.
This is with both cellular and WiFi on all the time and I left all the battery saving tweaks untouched. So I have everything as is except some notifications. All the refresh background is on also. I hope it stays this way because I certainly don’t want to do this with every os updates.
From 5am-12pm it went from 97%to 83%
maybe in a few days I’ll start turning off things in settings

This is values from some testing I’ve been doing for almost a month. Been testing to turn things off at night to see if there is a pattern in drain

-4-5% Bluetooth off
-13% Battery save mode
-10% Bluetooth off
-4% WiFi off
-19 % Bluetooth and wifi off
-1% Airplane mode, wifi and Bluetooth off
-29% force closed all running apps
-5% Bluetooth and WiFi off
-7% Bluetooth off
-5% watch off
-29% Watch on
-15% Watch on after factory reset of watch
-11% Watch in battery save mode
-4% Bluetooth off, WiFi off
-13% Bluetooth off, WiFi off
-19% Everything on
-10% Everything on
-8% Battery save mode
-16% Battery save mode
-14% Bluetooth on, watch in battery save mode

For a while I thought it was my Garmin that caused this drain but I have high drain even with Bluetooth off. I’m having problem finding any pattern in this

Someone has said that the 14.4 beta cures the battery drain.

Yes on my 12PM with Beta 14.4 the overnight drain is gone.

Lost only 3% with everything on (WIFI, Bluetooth, LTE)

Have the beta 14.4 for 2 days no.
But don’t wonder about the laggy animations some time. This is a bug in the beta 14.4.

Same here. First night with 14.4, wifi/cellular/4G etc. on, as usual, no low power mode. Lost about 4% which is very much comparable to my iPhone 11 and a percentage I'm content with:

This is my nightly drain with 14.3

WiFi off, Bluetooth on but not connected to any device.

Same drain as if my phone was in use as shown I the illustration

That’s about where it should be.

I haven’t downloaded the beta, but I did my restore as stated before, turn off background app refresh, turned off lots of notifications which I don’t need, plus changed other known battery eaters.

I lost 7% through the night. And that’s with my email checking every half hour, a missed call and voicemail (DND was on) and about 7 emails.

Are you noticing any issues with the 14.4 beta?

Tour battery life seems to have greatly improved.

For me it is easy to replicate on my 12 PM

Airplane mode off = battery drain over night
Airplane mode on (with Bluetooth, WiFi and WiFi Calling On) = no battery drain

I have full bars of LTE (dual mode and same carrier) so it cant be that. Must be the chip itself?

This gotta be a record in here. 60% drop in 8 hours? Didn’t imagine it would be possible waking up to my phone in Low Power Mod when i left it with 74%.
I should add that i am on 14.3 on my 12 Pro and have clean installed twice plus moderated heavily background tasks.
Apple please fix your ****.

That's a LOT of drain. You do seem to have some app activity from 5 to 8-ish though. Also, any chance you had GPS on? The downward trend on your chart is radical!

On a positive note though, I can report my second night on 14.4 had the same result as the first one - about 3-4% drain. So at least for me, 14.4 seems to fix it, which is great. I'll keep an eye on it though.

Battery Usage during those hours reports only "Home & Lock Screen". Nothing enlightening. And as i said I've moderated heavily background tasks, locations etc. Go figure

I’ve finally decided to install the 14.4 beta.

Cant keep having my battery drain when it’s not even being used.

It would only add to the battery cycles, and degrade the battery in the end.

From what I’ve read on this forum, 14.4 appears to have eradicated the battery drain issue, so I’m hopeful.

How did it go ?

Is this night drain gone with 14.4 ?

All those social media apps ( spyware ) running with background refresh on takes its toll .
Also those that have an Apple Watch connected, try disconnecting it and check results.

The only „fix“ for me is to leave my iPhone 12 PM on airplane mode. Thankfully I got WiFi calling so I just leave it at that at all times since we have been on lockdown since November anyway. Still blame the modem tbh
