Similar to mine when not in airplane mode. Lost 8% a night with only Wifi on and no notification nothing and 27% one night with only LTE on and about 5 notifications. This in a screenshot of the battery consumption this night on my iPhone 12. It went from 69% -> 56%, a 13% loss between around 23:50 and 07:00. At the same time my wifes iPhone SE (First gen) dropped 1% and my work Android, two years old also only lost 1%. And I have NOTHING running in the background on my iPhone 12.

it is the same for me with 12 mini, but it seems i have bad reception inside, only 2 barsJust checked again and the only thing I see is Siri randomly showing up three times last night. I deactivated Siri completely now. Let’s see what it shows tomorrow morning
So, on the back of my previous post. I’ve managed to figure out the culprit for my battery drain. It was the exposure notification function. Turned it off and my battery life is back to where it was before. Hardly any drainage overnight.
EXACTLY the same!My 12 mini had been losing around 10% overnight on average. Last night it lost 40%! And it has been draining faster than normal while idling today, even after a restart. The battery screen shows no apps in use overnight. The only thing that changed was that I installed the 14.2.1 update yesterday.
Is anyone else seeing an uptick in battery drain? The 14.2.1 update did include lock screen changes specifically for the mini...
What version of iOS are you currently running where you experienced low battery loss overnight?I've had this issue with idle/standby drain since I got my phone on october 29th. It's draining on average 10-15% every night, and also has excessive drain while on standby during the day. I've had peaks of around 27% nightly drain, but also 3 nights with a drain under 5%. Yesterday it seems to have had a normal daily drain while idle, and this night it only lost 3% which I would consider normal and acceptable. Now as I said I've had a couple of these low-drain nights before, so I'm guessing it will go back to drain >10% tonight, but we'll se.

I’ve had iOS 14.1, 14.2 and 14.2.1. The battery drain seems to be the same under all of them, it differs every night but on average 10-15%. I think I’ve had low drain periods on all versions, but really high drain nights as well. What version of iOS are you currently running where you experienced low battery loss overnight?
I have neither of those unfortunately. What I noticed to be the biggest "normal" overnight battery drains are poor cellular connection and a paired Apple Watch
Yes.. I only logged in to iCloud. And my 12 mini battery drains more than 10% at night when idle. I’m not using iCloud for photos so it’s not syncing or something. Is there any recourse for those of us who have no apps running, background app refresh off, on WiFi, etc and still seeing 10%+ drain overnight? I don’t want to be stuck with a defective phone on my lease with sprint. I have about a month left of limited AppleCare coverage. I’ve reached out to Apple support twice and they said my battery is healthy. I completely disagree, a brand new battery should hold charge better with no activity.
it’s harder to track during the day, but I also can’t make it through a whole day without charging my phone. I do use apps/text, but my XS max would have plenty of juice left after similar usage at the end of the day.
I don’t believe optimizing is still going on after 10 days. That wouldn’t be normal. At best, we are talking 48 hrs.10-15% loss during the night seems reasonable - especially as the battery is optimizing for a few weeks and apps are catching up.....
I’ve had mine for more than two weeks since I did a DFU reset, and only have around 300 photos on iCloud so it’s definitely not still indexing. There is nothing reported using the battery at night. I do only have two bars reception on 4G, but other phones left in the same bedroom at night seems to drain normally, like 1-2% per night. I’ve tried pretty much everything. Going to wait for 14.3, if that doesn’t fix it i will request a repair/replacement.I don’t believe optimizing is still going on after 10 days. That wouldn’t be normal. At best, we are talking 48 hrs.
More than likely, there are one of more apps using location services and or cellular / WiFi signal is weak during the night.
On my mini, I am getting anywhere from 3 - 6% drain overnight (8- 9 hrs).
Do you have location services on? If so, do any of the apps have access? Do you have 5G completely turned off?I’ve had mine for more than two weeks since I did a DFU reset, and only have around 300 photos on iCloud so it’s definitely not still indexing. My guess is it’s a firmware bug. My current modem firmware on 14.2.1 is 1.14.06, and according to this: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/ios-14-3-beta-2-bug-fixes-changes-and-improvements.2269270/ the beta 2 modem firmware is 1.31.03-4. So I’m hoping 14.3 will fix the issue.
