You seriously need to start watching your attitude around here. You’ve been told numerous times what people think, we don’t agree with you, move on and stop with the insults and inflammatory comments (‘fanboys’ ‘ you don’t know what you’re talking about’ etc).
I'm sorry if what I wrote made feel someone as "insulted". Anyway I have said anything I had to say. I will wait for my new phone to arrive and I will let you know if it's acting as the previous one. I'm not going to add any kind of comment anymore.

I have had this issue from day 1 with my 12 Pro and still have it now... it’s 100% a bug in iOS 14 but I am sure Apple will sort it at some point. May take weeks, maybe months but it should eventually get fixed.

Well hello again. I’m back. After few great months without a stutter this crap came back few days ago. Now i see it very often each day. So stupid dammit.

only difference that I installed bunch of apps for my Alexa and all my lights. The apps that I cannot remove. Whether or not that is a cause of it, no clue of course.

I here sir will tell you apple will not fix it. I hope I’m wrong. I think people had this issue on their new at the time iPhone 11s. If apple hasn’t fix it since then, doubt they will fix it now.

Just watched a video regarding 14.4 beta two. Saying the stutter is gone. Hmm.
I didn’t read earlier replies not sure if it was mentioned here already.

Earlier in thread: According to some - fixed. According to others - not fixed. So probably not.

Can't really go by what people see after installing an update. It's always fine and smooth right after a restart but then the problem comes back eventually.

I cleaned up all apps and rebooted the phone. All day no stutter. Hopefully it’s gone for months again. Phone feels more responsive as well.

I ment I closed all the apps from running. Doesn’t matter cause I got stutter back. Meh.
Ok guys... I come back to let you know my experience.
I write a little summary of all the story. I bought at the day one an Apple Iphone 12 Pro Max 256 gb. The problems I had SINCE THE BEGINNING were the stuttering when closing apps. In some cases (many times a day) it was going to the multitasking page instead of closing the app and this was really annoying. Moreover I had a video/audio out of syncro by rendering a video recorded with the phone itself (a few minutes) with Imovie. Also in imovie it wasn,t able to choose the photo and video in the "adding" page. A kind of "freezing" that you were able to solve by making a scroll down and going back up (crazy!!). I followed apple support's advices step by step starting by restoring ios in recovery mode (by itunes) till creating a brand new apple id to avoid that some data coming from my account could have been corrupted, but with NO SUCCESS AT ALL. The stuttering was present from the very beginning of everything i was doing with the phone. Then I asked to some friends which bought the same model but 128 gb of storage. No stutter at all, no problem at all, everything super smooth. They seemed to be different models!!
So i became to think about hardware problem and You all know that I went to the apple store asking for a swap unit. The guy laughed at me when I asked for a swap unit. He didn't want to swap the phone and just told me to go away because it was 100% software problem to be solved by an upgrade. But I didn' trust it and since i bought (as for fortune!!!) the phone on amazon, due to christmas time I had time till 31 Jan to send back the phone, obtain a refund, and then buy a new phone. And that's what I did. Yesterday I got my new phone from Amazon. I took the 128 gb storage. It has been two days since i am testing it and what happened just right after each test and reset, NEVER and I say NEVER happened in two days. Everything is smooth, imovie is working PERFECTLY, and i am really sure i went through this nightmare...!!
So...my BIG ADVICE IS: ASK FOR A REPLACE UNIT. That's what i did and that's how i solved this problem. I know there are many people here who think that it's a software problem. In my opinion it has been an hardware problem since the beginning and this new unit claryfied that I was right. If you want to wait for some update you're free to do it. It's your money, it's you time so you can waste it as you want. I decided to go on with my convinction an I was really right. It seems I have a new phone, very smooth and very fast.
The differences between this unit and the previous one were that the previous one was 256 Gb of storage and this one is 128 gb (like my friends units) and also the previous one came with 14.2 so I had to update to 14.3 This unit had 14.3 already installed.
Was it related to internal storage? (maybe apple has defective 256 storage memories)
Maybe

Was it a problem of the update from 14.2 to 14.3?
Maybe

I don't know, but with this unit I DON'T HAVE ANY KIND OF PROBLEM. It's everything PERFECT. If something will change I will honestly let you know. But for now in two days of massive use NOT A STUTTER AT ALL.
With the previous unit I had stutter Many many many times, impossible to not notice it.

So, again, my advice, coming from my personal experience is: ASK FOR A REPLACE UNIT.
Hope not to come back to talk about this again!!!
Bye to everyone!

Could you link me to the post that describes the iMovie problem? I have never recorded more than for 2 or three minutes and I’d like to check to see if my phone does that.
yes. I had two problems with imovie. The first one is when you are in the first windows which allow you to choose which media you want to put in your video. When I was touching the video i wanted to include nothing happened. I had to scroll down, then go up and then i was able to select the video or the photo i wanted. It was just like the video and the photo were "locked" and to "unlock" them you had to go down and then up again. totally crazy.

the other problem was:
I recorded 15 seconds of a video with the frontal camera of the iphone. (a quick message for a friend) and then i added to this video 3 photo witsome effect. The total timing was 20 seconds. After the rendering the audio and the video of the video i recorded with the frontal camera of the phone was out of syncro. It was an out of syncro really UNUSABLE.

Another thing that i faced just having this new unit is when writing a message if you touch for long time in a letter you will get all the possibilities of the letter (for example: a,à,á,â,ä etc) when moving trough this letter i was not able to chose one of them 'cause it seemed that the touch was not responding

Just wait. It will be happen. 2 days isn’t long enough.

Yeah I’d be interested in seeing a longer follow up, I have to say I’m not yet convinced (but truly wish it does fix the previous poster’s problem). Usually the first 2-3 days after an iOS upgrade it’s fairly smooth, and then the stutters begin again.

For what it’s worth, I have a 128GB Pro. They are not immune.

Here’s hoping 14.4/14.5 help...

with the previous one it happened just right after the inizialization. For now everything it's ok. Imovie is working great. No problems at all.
But, listen, i don't want to be right...and I'm totally with you if you want to keep a buggy phone. Everyone is happy his own way! Today is the third day I'm using without any problem at all. And by using this unit now i am much more convinced that the previous one had an hardware problem. This one is smoother, faster, precise. Completely different! Just what you'd expect from a real iphone!

I didn't made any ios upgrade with this. It had 14.3 just out of the box.

With the previous faulty one It was 14.2 and I upgraded to 14.3 but I remark that i had the stutter problem with the phone right out of the box.
