When in your opinion started the "second batch"? And when is the "third" starting?
iPhones are produced continiously, the whole "first, second, third, .... BATCH-thing" is nothing but a myth.
i mean that since the factory produces a large number of hardware, there will be good and defective products, it is possible that our batch is defective products...So there are problems when software is used on hardware.

PS. Most importantly, no one can explain why a batch of IP12s is having problems...The other batch didn't have these problems, they all had the same OS, only different hardware.

Could this problem be caused by hardware? I think that this is the only reason to explain this problem. We all have the same OS system, but only the hardware may be different. Since each batch of hardware produced is different, there may be a problem with this batch of hardware. This problem occurred only in the first batch of purchasing IP12PM, it did not occur to the friends who bought the second batch of IP12PM. I am sure that my friend bought the second batch of IP12PM and this problem has not occurred yet.

It’s software!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I won’t dismiss it. All we need is to find someone with the lag who bought iPhones recently. Lol. As mentioned below we still won’t know if those iPhone produced in the beginning or late. Chances are first badge was sold already but you never know haha

From my experience I think it could be the apps. I still have no stutter and at this point I play a game with my phone. The game is, open and close apps for few min just to drive this phone crazy lol. Still smooth.
ps I’m on 14.3 and not going to update yet. Although it’s super tempting.

Different in hardware??
For example, the factory produces 10000 motherboards, this batch of motherboards is defective, and the IP12 composed of those defective products will have a problem. No matter how hardly Apple technician team along with RND team tries, they may not be able to figure out why...It was not a software problem. It was caused by defective hardware.

PS. I'm just pointing out one more direction for them to investigate. These problems are not caused by software. They may be caused by defective products

Then to play the devils advocate did iPhone 11s have bad batches too? Because 11 had the same issues.
again I’m open to all ideas. Everything can make sense when there is this problem.

Lol all good. We never know could be hardware.
Please don’t kill me for saying hardware issue haha

In fact, we do not know whether it is a software or hardware problem..It's just a discussion...Don't take it too seriously

I have iPhone XS Max and it stutter. I bought iPhone 12 Pro Max and it stutter too (I set this phone as new iPhone and did not use any back up).

do you think both phone have hardware issue? it seems no, because same issue in two different iPhones can not be happen.

at this point, I'm sure there is something wrong with one or more than one apps. maybe it's a third-party app or even Apple official app. I don't know. I want you guys to share your the apps (third party and official apps) to figure out this issue. I think it's better to take screenshots from your homescreen pages and share it here.

Let’s do it. Erase all your apps that are different from mine and download what I have. Replicate this if you have time and see if you have a stutter.

Here you go.

My iPad Pro 2020 stutters a lot with iOS 14.....this is not a hardware issue. It’s a software issue or it’s a hardware issue in the sense the animations arent properly accessing the GPU or whatever. Either way it’s total BS that the newest devices run like this 5 months in (10 months in the case of my iPad Pro )

Its particularly jarring on iPad because of promotion. It’ll be scrolling along fine and buttery smooth then the scrolling dips to like 30fps. Sometimes for seconds sometimes for a couple minutes. SUPER ANNOYING

Just to be clear that we all are talking about the same thing .. are we talking about the occasional stutter ‘as if it hangs for a microsecond’ midway while closing an app?

Yes. Post #29 demonstrates the issue.

Okay on mine the stutter is more midway through closing the app rather than at the start as #29 shows , but the occasional stutter is definitely there
In fact, in addition to the stutter, the other one is to close the program to return to the home screen, but the multitasking screen appears (when i use left hand to close the app, it will occur more), right . I don't know if IP12PM is not optimized or IP12px screen size is changed..So software (OS) does not use hardware.

It might just be that with your left hand you don’t swipe just up and perhaps without noticing you move right triggering the multitasking..

In some cases maybe. But this is a problem that happens often even when people swipe up “the right way.”

Secondly I would like to point something else out too. I don’t tend to close my applications so they stay open in background, I have a 12 pro max which is really amazing at everything!

I have noticed some things:

1) that after some time of having apple original apps open in the background (settings especially, mail, weather, calculator ecc...) and let’s say I’m using Instagram ..when I swipe up to access the apps in background , I notice that the apple original apps mentioned above turn either fully black or white (depending on whether you have dark mode activated or not

2) when I have many apps open , regardless of what apps but many, if I go to safari and turn the device to put into horizontal/landscape mode (or any other app that supports landscape mode) and swipe up to access the apps open in the background again, some apps in the background go fully black or white, some display the app logo and some stay open as they should.. however when I turn the phone vertical and swipe up again all the apps stay open in the background as they should .. perhaps the apps struggle to show the same previews in landscape mode when initially opened in vertical mode

Also if you change the system from dark mode to light mode or viceversa, some apps in the background act as I described in the points above

anyone can relate?
