I know the specs are nice, but personally I think that Dell looks ugly as sin.
But that's just my opnion.![]()
Ha, Ha my company bought me the exact same laptop. The form factor is nice if Apple does do an ultra-portable they should stick to the 12" wide-screen like the D420 rather then the 13.3" MacBook screen. If Apple made it, it would be about 30% thinner then the D420 though.my Dell D420 just crashed today w/ BlueScreen. Yeah! During an important meeting.
Actually, they're not. Not true for the Macbook, which was just updated, and not true for the MBP (at this moment).Apple is using the best chipset and the best CPU available at this time in their portables.
Thicker, lighter, faster. Its 1.33 in. Macbook is a mere 1.06. Its nice, but atleast get the facts straight.
That's not how it works. First I have to see the update, then ridicule it, and only then can I spend hundreds of dollars in a fury of rage! Then you can go ahead and place your Macbook order today. There will be no completely new case design.
They are not going to do a minor update this week and a major update next week. That idea is simply foolish
AppleCare is not even close to Dell's warranty most of the times.
A Dell laptop? Ugh.. I'd rather by an abacus, some crayons and carrier pigeon..
Did you even see the laptop or read the article?
Apple need to pull their finger out.
But since the announcement of the iPhone, they've let their computer line stagnate, and the competition is catching up.
I hope they pull a large number of impressive looking rabbits out of the hat at the WWDC. For their and for our sakes

Dear MacRumors please can we stick to news about Apple products.
If this continues then this forum will become seriously diluted and full of opposing fanboys flaming each other.
We surley cannot talk about every product that emerges from every competitor to Apple....even if they are somewhat similar.
Mahalo.
Whoops my bad. Its .86" thick, not 1.33". THIS THING IS NICE!
Yet Apple's rate of growth is 3 times the PC's market for last quarter? More scare mongering from the people who know it all.
I think Apple have been left behind in the computer business now... there is absolutely NO buzz surrounding their computer hardware anymore... it's all iPhone/iPod.
I once thought that, until Dell decided to give me the run around within the warranty period when my old inspiron was on the fritz, trying to convince me that it was a software issue that they can fix via remote access. Of course, just a couple of days after the warranty expired, it was determined that the HDD was the culprit, and of course Dell CS, knowing full well that my issue was occurring well within the warranty period, sent me a replacement HDD, but then tried to charge me for it. Took me quite a while to get that matter resolved. Apple, however, has been far kinder to me when my macbook was having hardware woes (RSD), and I had my problem resolved over the weekend, no fuss no muss. I'd take Applecare over whatever Dell has to offer anyday.
The big improvement is Dell's warranty. Onsite repair and accidental damage coverage vs. Send it into Apple or have the Apple store keep your system for 3+ days and Apple reps laughing at you.
I see 13.3 Inch Ultra Portable MBP's as well as updated 15 Inch models tomorrow. Both with LED Backlit screens, Santa Rosa etc...
Apple needs to stay competitive with current hardware. Its understandable what they did with the MacBook, but the MacBook Pros do not need to still be using old technology.
Tomorrow will be a good day![]()
