Will it include a dongle or a missing cable? Charging cable sold separately?
If the iPhone, Apple TV and the current iPads are an indication. Prepare for a more wide specs configuration.

Casing: Basic colour or Ultra Colours
Casing I/O: SD Card? 3.5mm? 1,2,3 USB-C? You want to have max USB-C port you need to go for Ultra Colour. Which btw is only available on the 16 inch. Cause only Ultra people need more than 2.
Magsafe or USB-C charging?
HDMI: 2.0? or 3.0?
Screen: LED - MiniLED - OLED
Promotion? Sure minimal requirement MiniLED. Wait you want 120Hz Promotion?gotta go OLED. Wait you want the Apple developed OLED with no burn in? Gotta. Buy the expensive 16 inch.
Keyboard Backlight optional Yes or No
USB-C charging cable included. Wait, you want ultra fast charging? $399 extra for the brick thats for the white model even if you bought the ultra colour spaceblack. We will make a spaceblack version available, with forced upgrade in mind, exclusively for the next gen MBP coming 3 years after your purchase. Sorry we still debating whether want to include it in the next gen, hence we stick with the white ones.
So you picked the most expensive OLED with 120HZ? Now pick if you want the Retina or the Ultra Retina with an Ultra Wide P3X colour range. Did we even mention that the expensive OLED ditches the notch?
We wont ask you about webcam preferences its just a basic one, but hey did you know we have a feature called Continuity Camera where you can use an iPhone Pro Max for amazing webcam quality?
SSD: 128/256/512GB Pro Speeds or 2/4/8TB Ultra Speeds.

AppleCare+ will be recalculated based on all your options. I am not going to even mention the prices of all options. Expect a maxed device equal to the Apple Car Mini.

Last but not least cause we know you love and take care of your device. Please check out the sleeves we got we priced them accordingly and affordable for everyone cause everyone should be able to take care of their Macs. *Zipper sold separately .

It's a pain in the neck, as battery never goes past the 4.5-hour mark.
Have you checked what process eats all the power? To me it sounds not normal at all. BTW running that AV software is nonsense.

If only Apple made the 13" Pro with dual monitor support
Go and get a DisplayLink adapter and attach 2 additional 4k/60Hz displays. Problem solved.

It's called a microchip shortage.

You should tell Apple.

Coming from someone who got the 16 on release day, it has been the best computer I’ve ever owned. The battery in this thing is incredible, and honestly for my needs, this thing is a beast. Definitely keeping it for another 4 years.
Battery life on my 16" was incredible for me until I found the amazing "Vivid" app. The brightness is worth the battery hit in my opinion. I also plan to keep mine for another 4 years...likely. Let's see if Apple flips the script.

My prediction: There will be hardware-based raytracing on the M2 Pro/Max.

Last year, the M1 Pro/Max had the media engine to differentiate it from the M1 beyond just core counts.
This year, the M2 got the media engine. I bet they'll add something new to the M2 Pro/Max, and hardware raytracing is the most likely candidate since Apple already added a raytracing API.

The current raytracing API runs raytracing in software, which has impressive performance for a software based raytracing algorithm, but is still orders of magnitude worse than anything with hardware raytracing and no rational game developer would use it. I don't think Apple would have included it if they didn't plan to eventually make hardware raytracing a GPU feature.

"corporate" spy apps with Intel binaries, like McAffee Virus Scan (don't laugh)... FireEye...Streem... and a well-known cloud storage service that still does not support Apple Silicon.

Displaylink is hacky! I don't like it much. And correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think it supports vertical monitors (I am fussy).

Makes sense giving that Resident Evil Village maximizes RT.

6ghz network has the same speed as 5ghz, max 4800 Mbps, unfortunately it is more susceptible to interference and works at full speed only on very short distances

Why do you figure it's more susceptible to interference? The 5 Ghz band is getting pretty crowded in urban areas with the number of WiFi networks around, so the 6 Ghz band should be less congested. Limited range is also a bonus in dense environments, because it means your neighbors signals won't interfere as much.

Finally, WiFi 6E apparently has much higher real-world performance, since there are no legacy devices on the spectrum to slow things down for everyone.

I can't imagine that any MBP users are screaming MORE POWER!, but maybe there are ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ . I'm fine with my 16 M1P for the next several years.

Lots of people still running Intel who haven't switched to Apple silicon yet. You're not the target market for a modestly updated MBP.

I don’t care anymore… Apple has decided to not address the sound problem with the new Mac studio where i was going to get the ultra chip and spend more money, but they didn’t so i moved on to the laptop…. I am tired of the rumors and delay and the M2 so far has seen minimal improvement over the M1 builds so I pulled the trigger and am going with the 16” M1

My new setup: (delivery expected Thursday)
• Apple M1 Max 10-Core Chip
• 64GB Unified RAM
• 4TB SSD
• 16.2" 3456x2234 Liquid Retina XDR Screen
• 32-Core GPU | 16-Core Neural Engine
• Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) | Bluetooth 5.0
• Thunderbolt 4 | HDMI | MagSafe 3
• SDXC Slot | FaceTime HD 1080p Camera
• Backlit Magic Keyboard
• Force Touch Trackpad | Touch ID Sensor
• macOS

$4299 (instant savings of $600) B&H Photo

You mean when to expect the price increase?

Honestly my favorite announcement today was the lack of an announcement of new MacBook Pros.

I’m just sitting here continuing to enjoy the excellent 14” bought on discount (though not as deep as some of the recent discounts).

If today was any indication, I’ll be even happier when they’re actually announced.

They added three ports to the MBP last year and took away three ports on one each of another device this year (SIM, Ethernet, headphone jack.)

I guess the port budget really is a thing.

Unless you desperately need even more CPU, that thing is gonna kick the crap out of the Mac Studio. You did good buying the 16” on discount, best computer Apple makes right now IMHO.

But what if it’s announced tomorrow…lol

I almost said Apple wouldn’t do that, but then I remembered how they screwed me on the Intel 2020 MacBook Air and then released the M1 version (what feels to me like) the next day.

People have replied to comments I’ve made like that to say that the M1 was rumored and I should have known better. But the M1 rumors started right after it was released (and of course like a sucker I bought it as soon as I read the press release (which should have been a clue, I now realize.)) Trust me, I was paying attention.

So that turned into a rant but yeah at this point they just might.
