Most rumors aren't true. Just think about everyone who predicted the M2BA would have iMac colors and white bezels.rumours from the leakers states thinner bezels for 12.9 are likely.

There is no deep integration with Google Drive, so you can't keep things synced with your local folders.
You also can't do much with the files in there. There are no apps like Keka or vscode or Terminal, so the Files app is still not on par as Finder. You also can't run or compile things in the Files app.
The files app seems to be pretty capable now. From what I've used on the iPadOS 16 beta the last few days, it does everything except let you litter your desktop with files
But you see, those folks saying that the iPad doesn’t have a “file system”… they consider putting files on the desktop a file system! So, sorry Apple, not good enough! /s
+400$ magic keyboard
+starting at 128gb (so u need to add 100 bucks)
+the pencil if u rly wanna make use of the capacitive display (140)
making it 50$ cheaper than a MBP 14 whilst having half the ram, half the storage (8/256 vs 16/512) and a much restricted OS .
no wonder apple doesn't want to kill their ipad lineup
Dear Tim Apple,
your products are getting worser each day. Nobody wants and needs a 14.1 iPad. We want a new 11" iPad Pro with Mini LED!!!!!!
Apple is becoming the second Nokia. In a few years, nobody will remember your strange company.
I hope it’s reasonably priced starting at $1,999 for the 128GB base model
Agreed. People need to take rumors as what they are, rumors; not facts. Most rumors aren't true. Just think about everyone who predicted the M2BA would have iMac colors and white bezels.
16:9 helpsthe 12.9" pro is already kinda big...and I'm a fan of the larger device sizes...will have to see what use cases would benefit from this
holy moly. that is a big difference. I do think the 14.1 inch ipad pro would be able to just slightly bigger than the 12.9 if they shrink the bezels down more. I think they're going to add the notch if they do that. Not a big fan of the notch.
I assume anyone buying that big an iPad would be largely using it as a laptop replacement - docked to a magic keyboard and used on a desk. The weight will be completely impractical. The 12.9 is already heavy enough that it’s caused me serious lower left arm pain from holding it for prolonged periods. An even heavier one would unmanageable for most people I expect.

Agree! It will be uncomfortable holding for 3 minutes unless they can cut the weight. And here, I just bought the 5th gen 12.9. Of course they're coming out with a bigger one. Eh, in my experience, the ipads stay useful far longer; I've got a first gen 12.9 that the kiddos watch shows on just fine. Still, at that size, it'll likely be heavy enough to not casually carry around.
Is the 12.9" iPad too small for you to have both documents open side by side?It could also be for drawing/sketching on a desk or at least while sitting down at a park bench or something.
I currently use a Pro 11” and Air 4 for reviewing and annotating two related PDFs at the same time (with Logitech Crayon). A 14” iPad would be a more convenient and space saving alternative to my current setup.
Oh there will be plenty of people getting it for bragging rights, you'll see all of them complaining here telling you they won't ever buy another iPad ever as they have the top of the line one and still does not replace the computer for them. This will be a VERY niche product. For the price this will cost with a keyboard what is the draw for most people over a MBA M2 that the currently cheaper and more portable 12.9 wouldn’t offer? This will continue the great for artists who need a larger canvas theme but for everyone else… ?
Never see the files app?Unless it comes with Finder or a Finder like easy to navigate filesystem, what exactly is the point?
Capabilities of the Files app aside, the current version of Google Drive doesn't do that with the Finder (or on Windows) either; you can browse your entire Drive through the Finder/Windows Explorer and download on demand, but it doesn't keep anything in your local storage synchronized the way iCloud Drive or Dropbox does. There is no deep integration with Google Drive, so you can't keep things synced with your local folders.
