Yeah - I know. And professional image editing is done better on a hi-res matte screen than a lo-res glossy screen.

My point is that when you market something as Pro, you deliver it as such.

Professional image editing is done on a high end, hardware calibrated external monitors, in a room and workstation specially designed to accomodate such screen. 13" laptop screens are good for quick look at what has come out of the camera and here color gamut and accuracy are far more important than slight bump in resolution (100px on the vertical axis...). As for gloss - yes, it's an issue - but if you really want to get rid of the reflections (on both the glossy and matte screens) you buy a shade...

This is EXACTLY why I think the resolution on 13.3" is NOT too low for a PRO machine. When I manipulate render/manipulate three-dimensional structures, it's usually on a machine with 100s of cores, not a MBP ... lol.

pretty nice specs… but stock 5400rpm drives again? WTF? at least make them 7200rpm Apple if not doing the OS SSD drive.

also if anyone looked at the CPU clocks and cringed (i did for a second) that is the clocks on Intel's mobile quad core SB CPUs, the Core i5 & i3 have higher clocks, but less powerful.

a 6750m with 1GB DDR5. That baby kicks out over 9000 3D Marks (06). Compared to 5000 for the 9600GT and 6000 for the 330M.

If this is true I am one very, very happy bunny.

Just wait until you discover they have downclocked the 6750M. ;) They have done it before.

So it's Radeon 6750 and 6490...

How do those compare with the existing M330 graphic cards?
Any comment on these announcements ?
Any benchmarks somewhere ?

Regards,

Actually, if true, the lack of ExpressCard slot on the 17" is much bigger issue than screen resolution on the 13". Maybe (but we don't know yet) Thunderwhatever will be able to host an adapter, but the backward compatibility is compromised.
