how do the dell SB i7 laptops support 16 gb ram? do they have the desktop variant i7 in there?

well at least it has 'thunderbolt' now. i don't know any pc that can do that, only pokemons can ^_^

It's a much larger laptop, where aesthetics don't have the same priority.
HAHAHA! the chipset itself is limited to 8GB, from what i checked yesterday on the Intel spec sheet anyway ;)

tyvm mr hammer.

woah! very handy indeed. thank you.

The 17" will be a powerhouse - with companies like OWC repalcing ODD with SSD you could have performance better than Mac Pro had just 2 year ago (well at least 4 core versions)...

i'm shocked the 15" doesnt come with high res screen standard.. i mean 13" low-end sure keep the low res screen. but the 15" is a true "pro".. wow.

here you go:

MC700LL/A – MBP 13.3/2.3/2X2GB/320/SD-USA
MC721LL/A – MBP 15.4/2.0/2X2GB/500/SD/GLSY-USA
MC723LL/A -MBP 15.4/2.2/2X2GB/750/SD/GLSY-USA
MC724LL/A – MBP 13.3/2.7/2X2GB/500/SD-USA
MC725LL/A – MBP 17/2.2/2X2GB/750/SD/GLSY-USA

looks like also the 13" will have "HD" bto option. but NOT antyglare :(

wow so it looks like the cheaper 15 has the quad. pleases me as i was speculating about the purchase of the high end 15 ... which from this looks like 750 disk and 2.2 quad - hopefully maybe the 1gb graphics

What makes you think that?!

because those are the default specs and SD stands for Standard Definition. For the current gen the 15" works like this: SD=1440x900, HD=1680x1050

As an educated guess for the 13" it will mean SD=1280x800, HD=1440x900

SD means SuperDrive. But it seems that the high-end 13" will be getting the Core i7-2620M. This is awesome!

good point about the SD. But are you sure about that? All the MBPs come with a superdrive, why bother specifying in the identfier? it would be redundant...

[EDIT: just double checked, you are right...]

If SD means SuperDrive then maybe we will see non SuperDrive MacBook Pro's option because they make it clear. Why..

Actually, if true, the lack of ExpressCard slot on the 17" is much bigger issue than screen resolution on the 13". Maybe (but we don't know yet) Thunderwhatever will be able to host an adapter, but the backward compatibility is compromised.

if the t-bolt does not hook up to a hub that gives you a booting hdd in many ways the entire upgrade is wasted. right now drop an ssd into the 17 inch pro then buy the following

http://eshop.macsales.com/item/Other World Computing/EXP34SATA2P1/ 20 bucks

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...112&cm_re=sans_digital-_-16-111-112-_-Product

180 bucks buy two of these

buy 4 3tb hdds and bring the mbp from location work to home leaving the twin sans digitals at work and home. this give you a fast machine with either 3tb mirrored or 6tb raid0.

even if you don't do any of this the adapter allows you to off load at 120MB/s.

I am hoping they have a hub t-bolt for sale with 2 usb3s and 2 esatas and you can boot with it. it would make a lot of sense for apple to sell a t bolt hub.

if the t bolt does not let you do this you are screwed.
