The media lies all the time.... so that argument is rubbish.

It a absolutely gets more clicks, it generates negative publicity and spins the media up. Again as I explained earlier this happens every year as people attempt to find fault with Apple and play gotcha.

I rarely see the same level of scrutiny with other companies' devices.

I'm clearly talking to tinfoil head dude, but he tests phones from many companies. He tested the iPhone 15 Plus and it did fine.

YouTube is not about making money on a single viral video. That is a great way to kill a channel. It is about creating an audience that comes back for video after video. To do that, your audience has to trust your content.

Just silly. Established youTubers have reputations to maintain. A phone breaking does not necessarily get more clicks than one that withstands all tests.

It's just an excuse for people to ignore information they don't like. Can make the same argument for all news media.
Another possibility is maybe he got a defect. Defects do happen, standard defect rate in most manufacturing is about 2%. It's why we have warranties and recalls.

Totally possible. My only point is that his test is information. Add it to the collection. I have no clue what % of iPhone 15 Pro Max will fail in that way, or what that means for daily use.

Tin foil hat? Why because I said the media lies?

They do, I've seen it first hand. They are a business based on sensationalism and clicks, all sides. If you legit think there honest and truthful then I'm not the tin foil hat dude.

YouTubers also have their own biases, they're humans, we all have inate biases. And YouTubers literally do things to drive clicks, rather it's sensational headlines or the thumbnails they use for their videos.

I'm just suggesting possibilities. Personally I've not had any issues with my 15PM.

Your casting judgement on a device based off of 1 video, again, purposely designed to destroy a device and does things that no ordinary user would do.

That's not how it really works. There are two key metrics, the % of people who click on your link after being shown it (impressions), and how long each of those people watch your video.

What happens though is the % of impressions shown to people who click on your link is heavily influenced by how well the YouTube algorithm is able to target your audience. So let's say Jerry does a viral video about Cheeseburgers tomorrow. What will happen is his click through metrics and watch percentage will end up plunging, as now YouTube is sending phone demolition videos to people who really only care about cheeseburgers. This will cause YouTube to then start dramatically reducing the number of impressions it shows to users and revenue craters.

Very often, for a new channel, a viral video ends up killing the channel, as they are not able to follow it up with content that appeals to the audience that watched the viral one.

The end result is that established channels, tend to be quite focused on a niche, and work very hard to make sure that they have an audience that will click every time a new video comes out.

I have a 15 Pro Max as well, but doesn't mean I tune out any negative information about it as rubbish designed to make money.

I'll drop it on good old golf ball sized gravel. Your screen or back would be toast.. You choose
This was tried by a guy in Calgary, it didn’t happen as intended - but the heavy ball weights with the phone held sideways by cinder blocks did break it! But setting it up took more to an a few seconds… 🤣

I'm just messing with you. I do wish Apple would of stuck with the stainless steel but considering they made the back easy to replace and the device overall easier to repair I don't think it would of made the new design more durable than it is now... The older Pro's were tanks, the new one isn't.. Time will tell if the new design will increase repairs to the point Apple makes changes to future models

They will.

I think the elastic properties of Titanium mated to the aluminum may have created some unforeseen issues. Next year is a new form factor and probably a new camera array - so next year I’m in - around late October. 🤣 Anyone remember the vibrating “camera gate” last year. I was afraid to use my camera for a couple of weeks. No first week purchases for me anymore!

Um the 15’s were the new form factor lol form factor won’t change much until the 18 now

Source: trust me bro
apple keeps the same overall design for 3 years so 12 13 14 all same design same material. 15 pros are made out of titanium and have a contoured edges and smaller bezels which counts as a form factor change. im not saying they wont correct any of the durability issues with the 16 pro's but the general form factor wont change much besides the bigger 6.9 inch display for the max/ultra but the sides will still be titanium and contoured just like the 15's are now and this design language will continue through to the 17 before finally changing with the 18 its the same cycle apple has been following for a very long time.

Not true, many channels are about entertainment and/or otherwise drive engagement with exaggeration and outright lies (i.e., yellow journalism).

And in at least some cases, the entertainment value is enough to cause viewers to ignore (or defend) content that’s simply opinion or filled with many flaws.

;) ;)

Ugh this is bend gate all over. There is no way we can equate a visual view of hands to how much pressure someone is ACTUALLY applying to the phone. Not everyone has the same strength and we won't see everyone's hands shake as they try to bend a phone.

Take a look at the recent Linus Tech Tips drama and you will see there can be issues with established YouTubers.

Apple hate is the BEST way to get a lot of clicks.

Bingo! Bendgate was ENTIRELY overblown BS. I don't understand how people fall for this EVERY YEAR. It's predictable, Apple releases products and there's people that all they do is try to find fault with the product, and get it publicized to drive clicks.

Again I have the 15PM and have unfortunately dropped it twice, but it's still pristine, everything is in good working order. Put a case on it and move on, or if it bothers you that much just don't buy it.

I just did a little googling and I stand corrected on a previous statement. I see Jerry has done this with other phones, and guess what....other phones bend and break too. But I don't find a lot of fanfare and press about it.....weird....

Multiple channels tried the same thing and got the same results.
Ok, don't buy it then, no skin off my nose.

But I don't find a lot of fanfare and press about it.....weird....maybe don't deliberately try to break your expensive phone.

I have the 15 PM and have been very happy with it, no issues, even despite two drops.

I’m not surprised if this thing appears to be true, because Titanium is not a stiff material as it flexes.

It’s why in sports, carbon fibre is the preffered choice of material. Even Aluminium is stiffer than Titanium.
