Wow what a waste.... You could have saved that 16 GB by buying a flip phone.

Oh, come on. Really?

Does your television have every TV show or movie stored in it?

Does your car radio have every song or talk radio program stored in it?

Just like them the iPhone is an always connected device, not a dumbphone/MP3 player.

iTunes Radio is free. Flickr with 1TB of permanent storage is free. Netflix is $8/month.

I have more content and more storage accessible through my 16GB iPhone than I can ever possibly use or consume.

As someone said earlier there are no rules here...it all depends on how YOU use it.

But to say 16 GB is a lot is outright outlandish and thats my point.

I hear and watch a lot of PODCASTS. I take lessons in iTunes University. I have a 2 GB only plan.

For those wise ones who say "Cloud".. give it a break.

I subscribe to Google music. In ONE DAY, I blew 1 GB listening to music, streaming!

Want me to pay 30 dollars more for unlimited data? or get the 32 GB for 100 dollars more and be done with it?

There's no one answer to the question as different people use their iPhones for different things. Some people have more music than others while others have more photos or videos etc. The easiest solution is to have too much rather than too little ad there is no way to add later

It really sounds like you should get a pre-paid flip phone and iPod.

16GB is fine for me. I don't live on my phone so I'm fine with it. I'm afraid if I had a larger capacity phone you wouldn't ever see me without my iPhone in my hand. Those people annoy the crap out of me.

I went from an 8GB 4 to the 16GB 5s. 16GB is good enough for me. I have a playlist of 1000 songs, some photos and some apps. I still have some space left. 16GB works fine for me

Or do you constantly wish you had more storage? I know this is fairly subjective, i.e. someone who has a huge itunes library might need more than 16, while someone who doesn't listen to music would never know the difference...just wanted to hear opinions on whether people think it's enough for the phone to still be comfortably usable.

At times I wish I had more, but I know I can only afford a 16 GB iPhone... Unless I get something like the 5c.

Two things.

1) Google Music SUCKS with data. Spotify is a lot better.

2) On a low data plan, just swap your music around when you're at home on WiFi. It's what I do with Spotify.

Happy holidays!

I never use social media. You don't need space to consume social media.

The pictures video and podcasts can eat up real quick. Yeah I *discovered* that my phone actually has 4G LTE!! What a surprise. Just need to discover if someone will pay for it when I go over 2 GB.

I don't know why I typed 'social'. I meant media. I admit, streaming can take up a lot of data, but there are also a lot of places with free wifi, so I don't see data usage as a problem. Most hotels, cafes, schools, and offices have wifi now.

I get that everyone's usage is different, but I think with better management, one can live with 16 gb. The point is, a lot of people treat their phones like phones, so a large media library is not necessary.

Spotify is great! I can't believe it's free.

16 GB iPhone users: is it enough?

It's a waste to have a 32 gb with more then 16 gb free. Might as well fill it with something or else get a 16gb and save the 100 bucks.

It's also find it kind of silly to say it's a phone. It IS but much more too. It's designed to hold and play media and it excels at it.

Most people will live within there means though. That's why some (not all) says 16gb is enough. Like myself I have 3gb of 16gb left. If I had 32gb I'd probably have about the same amount left I'd just need to reorganize stuff less often.

16GB is fine for me. I watch videos and read books on my rMini, so that's a 64GB device. But on the phone I just have a few pics (which get uploaded to DropBox eventually and deleted on the phone), some apps, and that's about it. Nothing too major. I listen to a lot of podcasts while I walk the dogs or do chores, but they get deleted as soon as I listen to them.

I have 8GB left of space, and I have no idea what to do with it.

I had a 16 Gb iPhone 3G, a 16 Gb 3GS, a 16 Gb 4 , a 16 Gb 4S , a 16 Gb 5 and now a 16 Gb iPhone 5S.

Not very "future proof"

When i bought my 16GB iPhone 4s 2 years ago, apps were like 10-20MB and some games up to a few 100MB.

2 years later most games on my iphone take up about 700-2000MB/each.

In 2 years, maybe 3-4GB each?

When I upgraded to the 5c a few weeks ago I went with the 32GB model.

Apps seems to grow alot in size over the years so 16GB might be a little bit to small for the future.

The resell value will also be a lot higher, since the phone will be able to store more than 10 modern apps.

Honestly having Dropbox helps immensely with 16 gb. Can store like 20+gb on Dropbox without touching internal storage

My Galaxy S III is 16 GB, and I still have 3.5 GB of internal memory left without touching the 8 GB SD card I have in it, so for me it is plenty. I'm planning on a 16 GB 5S when I upgrade.
