Now this has me excited! Lets hope they fix all the garbage wrong with their current models and release something everyone can get behind!

Why would any firm pay Kuo when they can get his information for free on MacRumors? Kuo probably works for Apple.

love this comment. Who knows is the answer - what a waste of time Kuo is and lets all just ignore him from now on.............

Pure curiosity here, but why long for a small phone?

There are actually some of us who feel that the phones in the current lineup are simply too large. Personally, I bought an iPhone SE when it was discontinued to replace my 5s, just to be able to stay with the same form-factor. For me, I think that the best phone-related announcement would be a metal-back iPhone SE case-sized phone with an edge-to-edge display, i.e. something compact which doesn’t break when I put it down.

Flat glass? That might be viable for Apple in emerging markets or as an "active" phone in 1st world markets. It isn't a bad idea. And given that Cupertino snoops on this site, it may be something they have in the works should iPhone sales be dismal QoQ.

Anyone else geeking out over a '2 to the power of' number as the size of a new MBP?

MBP16. Almost sounds like a 1980s-90s games console. :D

Yes.. it's sad, I know. :(

Agreed but if there isn’t some kind of improved “Find My AirPods” feature that allows them to either emit a loud noise or to have the the iPhone or iPad you’re using to find them emit a tone that gets louder as you get closer to them then I’m out.

Use NFC or some other technology to basically use the iPhone as a radar and lead you right to them. That would be cool and super useful!

The black AirPods will sell like hot cakes. Everybody has been wanting them since the airpods were launched.

Agreed, but I personally think any color(s) they put out will sell out so fast, like the white ones. Is it just going to be black and white, or are there other colors possibly coming out as well?

This could actually be quite cool.

Larger surface for effective cooling, a better keyboard and more place to fit stronger components. If they combine that with a 120hz screen I think this would be the future of Apple we all wished for...

Hopefully Apple will switch over to an Nvidia RTX GPU instead of the AMD garbage.

Sorry, could you be a bit more clear? Are you saying you prefer your phone because it's a phone, and only have a to-do list/calendar, some SMS and that's it? The other capabilities don't interest you and therefor the bigger phone is a hassle?

Is it comfort in your hand or the size/weight of the phone?

of course each to their own, but for me the iPhone 4 form was the perfect size for a phone + light tasks, used mainly for:
- phone calls
- text messages
- email check
- calendar check
- music listening
- occassional internet browsing for references
- alarm & clock
- calculator
- occasional picture taking

For all of these functions the one hand device was perfect.
Even now I would prefer the iPhone 4s body without bezel, that would make the screen about the size of iPhone SE. Or even
SE body without bezel, would still be quite alright.

As I said, I already have an iPad for the apps and music making, that is why I don’t need or want a big phone.

Also, do not see any damage Apple would make to themselves, if the would have 4 sizes of phones. And as they have removed headphone jack, they have more space to fit in a better camera or battery.

The 16 it’s just the 15.4 with smaller bezels.

Maybe you need to learn that going around saying ********s doesn’t make you look cool as you think

I doubt they can fit 16.5” in the current 15.4” frame, plus the rumour says a new case design.

It needs the following:
  1. A 99 W.H battery again! The 15” should get at least 80-85 W.H;
  2. An SDXC card slot supporting UHS II;
  3. Return of optical audio out in the 3.5 mm audio port;
  4. A new tougher Al alloy for the case. It dents too easily; and maybe...
  5. Reconsider the position of the audio jack. I’m not sure if I like the top right placement or not.

Could you get to 16" with the current size if you removed most of the bezels?

14 Inch Macbook with 2 USB C Ports that connect to a USB C iPhone and I'm sold.
Does the iPhone actually need USB-C? Apple just need to replace the current USB-A-lightning cable to the USB-C-lightning cable (which is currently sold separately), and the result is the same.

Hopefully Apple will switch over to an Nvidia RTX GPU instead of the AMD garbage.
Highly unlikely. Nvidia does not keep their competitive edge when you go to 4K resolution and beyond. For pros, AMD simply is the better solution, and that's why Mac went all-in on AMD. A RTX GPU for gaming would mostly mean Bootcamp as well, and I think Apple knows exactly how many users are Bootcamping their Macs. This won't fly.

Why on earth shouldn’t they? I mean, they were released December 2016, so even if you were an early adopter, they are barely 2 years old. This consumerism has to stop. We can’t be surprised, if an item like this lasts two years. We need to expect that.

Mine are about 2 years old and the battery is severely degraded, they last about half as much as when they were new. I like them so much I’m waiting for next gen to rebuy, but unfortunately they are disposable.

Cell phones started big. As technology improved, those who could afford the latest, smallest phones got them. If you could only afford old tech, you got a big, clunky phone. Somehow, Apple has convinced people that big, clunky phones are fashionable. I prefer functionality (meaning a SMALL, portable phone that easily fits in my pocket, and that I easily can operate with one hand.)

Ming Chi Kuo has a brilliant track record (not perfect but no one is). Look at what he leaked last year:

6.1" LCD iPhone - Turned out to be correct
New iPad Pro with the USBC and new 18W adapter - Turned out to be correct
Low price Macbook - Turned out to be the Macbook Air
New Apple Watch with narrow bezel, ECG support and all ceramic back - Turned out to be correct

The one thing that Kuo didn't get right was the release of new AirPods 2 and Airpower, however it's possible that it got pushed back to early 2019 (as recent rumours have suggested).

Kuo's timing isn't always right and so it could be that this new Macbook Pro with 16" or 16.5" screen is a 2020 thing. I guess time will tell :)

EDIT, Also he mentioned the Touch ID on the Macbook Air and Face ID on the iPad Pro's
