I have heard some speculation that there would be no i7 option?

Is this possible?
Wasn't that just me navel-gazing in the 2020 MBP thread? 😄 I was basing it off an assumption Apple didn't have much room left to squeeze more margin out of this even if they increase the starting price, thus a $3,000 starting price would have an i9 similar to the existing 15". I haven't seen anyone 'in the know' actually talk about the specifics of the starting specification, other than that it's likely to still use the same 9th gen chips as the 15" (which is a given as 10th gen isn't yet out for this class of chips).

I thought we were all expecting iOS style rounded corners on the screen - why does the mockup have sharp corners?

I have been thinking about getting a new MBP and have been waiting for the new keyboards. While waiting, I decided to really ask myself if I even need a laptop anymore. I don't think so. I think my next device will be a new iPad with keyboard etc. I can't find things for me that I can't get done on my existing iPad. Apple will keep me as a customer but take less of my money. I'll bet I'm not alone here.
If Apple would just enable mouse/cursor support for the iPadOS, I could almost see getting rid of my Windows notebook and just use the iPad. But providing remote assistance (among other tasks) on an iPad using my finger is a no-go.

Wasn't it suppose to be today for the release😂

Well, I guess it keeps people posting on Mac Rumors which is the objective.

I have admittedly been waiting on this for a while, my 13" 2.6ghz core i5 with integrated graphics, 8gig of ram and 120gig SSD have been waiting to be upgraded for quite a while. I was going to build a new editing workstation (4k video) but I simply travel too much now and must remain mobile. I'll be pulling the trigger at the end of January if:

The Keyboard is fixed
The performance is improved
It has actual ports that people use (I can bend on this)
The battery life remains stellar
I don't have to offer organs to own one
Are you implying that people don't use USB C?

We need a new laptop for our shipping office. I am tempted to give them my current 2018 MBP, then pick up one of these for myself. Sooner the better.

On a random note that will probably get me banned from this site, I like the touch bar.

Would be nice. But i'm expecting ridiculous prices.
5000,- for 32 GB RAM, a decent GPU and 1TB SSD.

Edit: oh wait, we already pay that for a 15 inch.

2.3GHz Core i9-9880H
32GB DRAM
1TB SSD
Radeon Pro Vega 20

$3749 USD

It always helps to doublecheck your math, seems like you carried over the one an extra place to the left. Honest mistake, I’m sure, but accuracy counts, FUD doesn’t.

I’m on my way to pick up my Vega 20 model now🙄... if the base model specs isn’t faster than the i9/16/512 I’m getting now or cost more than $2800.... I’m just gonna pass

who knows... maybe my 19 will get a bunch of asinine repairs and I’ll get upgraded for free lol
