You could just buy a Magsafe cord. Amazon sells them.

That's good news.

The bad news is that I did a lot of research on them and most all have really bad reviews as far as dependability is concerned.
Yeah I looked into them for my wife who has a new MBP and the reviews are shocking. I saw a post ages ago on here about how there was a patent by Apple that could bring it back to USB C so fingers crossed.

Question, guys...

Why are those images buried in there in the first place?

I know Apple isn't screwing with us just to promote rumors. That's a little too undignified.

Why are those icons in there?
It's wasn't exactly Apple's intention to "bury" them. It's just system files that's utilized by the UI. The real question is why would Apple leave these icons and pictures that hints at the MBP16 in both the beta and public releases of Catalina. Surely they know someone is going to find them. My thinking it that, contrary to your claim, as undignified as it may seem, Apple is intentionally leaving traces of the MBP16 in there to hype up the rumors.

How hard would it me to put in a simple HDMI port and an SD card slot. What a Joke. I can live with the Touch Bar, I can live without MagSafe, and I can live with USB C. I wish they would've just added a larger traackpad and new colors and spec bumps to the 2015 design.

We now have 15 (only half joking) about one rumored product. Can we just merge them all?

Probably because the 16" really will be released imminently. (Or at least had been planned to release imminently when those images were added to macOS.)

I suppose it's possible, but Apple has plenty on its plate to hype this Fall without needing to drop some breadcrumbs for the relatively few who will ever see them for a product that relatively few will ever buy. They've got AirPods, iPhones, and a streaming service to sell.

Parallel development and testing of "secret" products with the released products all running the same OS is tricky. I'm more inclined to believe that some things were accidentally added too soon (or that the 16" was planned to release with 10.15.1 but got a last minute delay) than to think it was deliberate. Hanlon's razer and all that.

You people are so funny thinking that Apple has any new hardware to release. You should know by now that Apple is the next AOL Time Warner. The only hardware you'll see from them are things to interact with their streaming service...

...like Airpods and Beats.

Well, you might get a new emoji here and there, too, so you can send them custom rollie-eyes when your software glitches...

I am actually excited about this. This seems to be shaping up to be a great upgrade, so many questions remain. I hope we don't have to wait until April 2020.

I'd like to get excited, but Apple has failed with new products so many times lately that I have no hope. Maybe I'll be surprised, but am not expecting it. With recent quality failures even if it is the perfect product for me, I'll not buy for at least 6 months. I used to pay extra for Apple stuff because it was normally rock solid, now its normally NOT rock solid.

Abomination? Uh, a bit too much hyperbole. Not comfortable, occasionally cramp inducing, unforgiving and too reliant on perfect strikes, yes...abomination, no. That’s a Hulk character, not this keyboard.
cramp inducing, low travel to a fault, lack of esc , lack of function keys when they had room to put touch bar above them if they wanted it at all, reliability/durability issues of the various butterfly revisions, additional prominence given to the statistically least used arrow keys resulting in the lack of inverted T design used for homing your hand when heavily using arrows.

and those are just the keyboard issues not any of the other issues/concerns with the 2016+ models.
I think abomination is appropriate

Now these are the kind of leaks or rumors I like to read about. 16 MBP great idea.

I didn't know you were getting information directly from Apple.

So many people with definitive statements. Must be Apple people but when you ask them for a source, they go quiet.

I know it's a lost cause but the X1 Carbon and the X1 Extreme / P1 seem to have got so much right!

All those ports, performance, awesome keyboard/trackpad/trackpoint AND a thin/light form factor.

...yeah, but they run Windows

I feel like this 16" isn't going to be as big of an update as people think. It looks really similar to what we already have with the current design. I think they're just trying to create "Pro" premium versions of everything to get a higher starting price. I don't expect anything groundbreaking from this new laptop. It may just come as a press release when the Mac Pro is released.

I don't think this 16" model will have a radical design outside. If you look at a Magic Keyboard from the top (not at an angle) it looks similar to the current laptop keyboards, so that photo makes some sense. They could still borrow the look but have a completely different scissor mechanism underneath. It looks like the Touchbar will separate out the Power Button/Touch ID on one side, and the ESC key on the other. They will probably use the same chassis as the current 15" (same size, weight, and ports), but just have slimmer bezels to squeeze in the larger display.

If this is going to be more expensive than the current 15" (as rumored), then it will have to have improved performance due to newer/faster processor/memory/storage in it.

This would tie in perfectly with the release of the Mac Pro (which was already shown off at WWDC), and if geared more towards a "Pro" user, then it could be announced anytime with just a press release before the Fall season ends (when the Mac Pro was promised.)

I like you, Sir! That makes the most sense.

I still think a release is imminent!
