Nice work. Also interesting that the keyboard seems to be further away from the display. Smaller trackpad?
Looks more in line with the 15" - someone did post a comparison GIF of the 15/16 icons that leaked, though, and it appeared the trackpad stays the same size despite the larger chassis. How indicative that is of the final design is hard to say for certain. Would be a bit awkward to make the trackpad even bigger still though.

Most likely some keyboard changes coming. Took a moment to compare the current 13-inch image to the new 16-inch leak. Assuming the 16-inch's Touch Bar is the same thickness, I found some interesting comparisons. These changes move the keyboard dimensions closer to that of the Magic Keyboard.
I really hope they'll put that keyboard in the 13" as well, I'd hate to wait another 6+ months.

Going by the 96W power adapter leaks it sounds like they might have eked out a little more thermal/ power headroom from the design - I'd say graphics is up there as the most likely beneficiary, though I wouldn't be expecting miracles tbh.

Hopefully it will come with a Navi GPU (announced by AMD to be shipping in mobile form this month). Haven't seen any official benchmarks yet, but presumably it will be a fair bit faster than the previous Vega mobile GPUs.

Isn’t the display further away from the keyboard on the current 15’s already?

In his image he’s comparing a 13 to a 16

We positive those keys are further apart?
I can’t tell if my mind is playing tricks on me because of the different case colors

The speaker dots are no longer aligned with the top of the lines of the buttons. Details matter, Apple. That's why Jony Ive was good at his job (for a while).

Good point, I forgot it was the 13”, not the 15” on the left 😊

Lord help us, it looks like the same junk low-travel keyboard. (But this time 0.725% fewer expensive trips to the Genius Bar.)

The 5500M they announced draws 85W, which is quite far from the 35W (I believe) the current Vega Pro 20 is rated at. Given the Vega -> Navi improvements we've seen so far I'd expect a "Navi Pro 20" to perform similar to a Vega M GH which has 24 CU, so that's about a 20% performance uplift in the same power envelope. That chip performs similar to a desktop RX 470 or GTX 1650.

I can’t stand the Touch Bar, but even for me literally the only concern is a more reliable and better feeling keyboard.
Love the TouchBar...way more useful to me than fixed function Fn keys. I really wish they would release a Magic Keyboard with Numeric Keypad and Touch Bar as I am hooked up to an external monitor for most of my workday. I use it as I can, but not as much as I would like. If the physical ESC key is enough to satisfy the Vim/Terminal contingent, then I think Apple has addressed the complaints as much as they are going to. To each his own, but I hope the TouchBar trickles down to the next iteration of the MacBook Air and to external keyboards in 2020.

I think I probably won't mind the touchbar (and maybe even like it) as long as there's a physical ESC key. The separate power button is also nice, as it's a system-critical component. If it fails, it should be able to be replaced much more cheaply, without needing to replace the entire touchbar.
Sure. I actually buy that premise. Esc key has to be separate, the rest are less important.

But... still :x

I get where you coming from, I also liked the symmetrical speaker grills on the bottom of the iPhone X, however when they changed it on the XS with the antenna lines, I really hated the unsymmetrical speaker grills. Now as the owner of the 11 Pro, I have actually said to myself, you know what screw the symmetry if it improves the signal.

For everyone who hates the Touch Bar, just remember one thing - Apple has a patent for an entire Touch Bar keyboard with no physical keys of any kind.

Apple has patents for some crazy ass stuff that will never see the light of day.
I wouldn't read much into their patent filings honestly.

MacBook Air.
With beautiful function keys that work, instead of an expensive gimmick.

Curious: what do you use the touchbar for that you can't already do with a mouse or trackpad?

I love my Yoga
but Windows 10 is torture.
Hacbook Pro it is.

Funny how "Windows 10 is torture" to you, yet you'll deal with the time and effort and compromises of making and using a hackintosh! LOL! Every update breaks something, non-stop issues, huge time demands making it work in the first place. Hackintoshes are a house of cards. It's a hobby for me. I like tinkering with them, but I'd never trust one for work. But Windows 10 is torture? I use both, mostly Windows 10, and I just don't see what it is people hate about Windows...I also support clients with both and rarely have issues with Windows 10 or Windows apps. At least no more than Mac.

Uh huh, and I bet no one thought they’d come out with the Touch Bar either...😂

You and I won't agree about the TouchBar (or Apple patents) most likely, so let's spare the rest of the forum any out of context and off topic back and forth about it here.

Cheers
