I had a 14PM and that was a proper heavy beast! Very uncomfortable to hold.

I now have a 15PM and since Apple used lighter titanium & trimmed down the chassis with rounded edges, it makes it a pleasure to use.

I wouldn’t like to go any bigger than the 15PM and add any more weight though! I’d probably be getting the 16 Pro if I was upgrading.

I wondered about the battery life of the 16 pro. I think i want to send my pro max back for the 16 pro.
After charging the 16 pro, I get 2 days out of it and I still have around 20% battery left. For me this is spectacular battery life when compared to my previous 12 mini, which couldn't get through a day (battery at 84% capacity). I am probably an average user (not a heavy user).

I am in the same situation. I have tested the Pro vs Pro Max several times in store and I know that the Pro is more comfortable but not only in terms of outdoor use, but also in terms of everyday comfort at home. I generally work in Home Office and the regular Pro model you are more willing to pick up, more willing to use the phone, more willing to take pictures, more willing to take the phone with you even for a momentary trip to the garden. Using Pro Max is a PROCESS. That's why I decided on the Pro and...I'm waiting. YMMV but at the end of the day, a big screen does not equal more enjoyment. Fortunately, there is a choice for everyone.

When I picked up my max it felt like it weighed the same or even less than my old 13 Pro. I even Googled and found out that it’s 20 grams heavier. The size of the phone makes it feel way lighter than it actually is.

Revert back to aluminum. It has lower weight, better thermal conductivity and is probably cheaper.

Battery on the 16 Pro has been great. Obvi not 16 Pro Max levels but not a concern at all in a daily basis

Agreed, it feels in the league of 14PM maybe even a bit better than from memory (had 88% battery health device on 17.0) which is to say for a non max and a Pro, impressive!

My previous regular pro was 12 pro and that battery life was dissatisfying imo

I find it takes me about 2 weeks to get used to a new item that I use daily. Shoes, phones, cars, whatever. At that point I start forgetting what the old one felt like.

Tried the max size for 2y, just went back to pro with the 16 series, even if 14 PM might be seen as even more extreme diff. Very happy so far I did.

I thought every PM was too heavy which is the main reason I went with a 15 Plus for a big phone. Every Pro model is too heavy for its size as well.

The extra weight is pretty small and almost entirely the larger battery. When Apple makes things thin and light, people complain about battery. When they increase battery capacity? People complain about thin and light. Thank god they don’t do focus groups for hardware design.
The thing is there are two groups of customers. One group wants thin and light and is ok with less battery life. The other group wants thick and heavy for the best battery life possible. At the end of the day no matter which design is released, half the customers are happy and half are not.

Size IS a stickler for me. I loved the old tiny phones and using them one handed. Now my eyes wouldn't work with that all that well, so I cling to the smallest I can get (within reason).

I have to have phones that can fit in my front pocket. My GF gets giant phones because she has a purse.

I have a feeling my eyes are going to reach the point where I need the bigger phone soon. And I will hate it. it will be inconveniently large and a constant reminder of my inevitable aging.

Now you're getting to the point where the phone feels heavy. Doesn't the wind blow you away? Eat more porridge, you will have the strength to hold the phone in your hand on the couch )))) At the very least, attach wheels to the phone, like in Mac Pro and roll it behind you.
I'm 83 years old and disabled, but I don't find my iPhone 16 Pro Max too heavy or the camera button too hard to push without moving the phone when taking a picture. But YMMV.

I’m interested to know what you think about the iPhone 13 Pro Max. I’ve never owned the 14 series, but the 16 Pro Max feels super light compared to the 13 Pro Max.

No it's not (in my opinion). The 14 Pro Max was, but the 16PM is still half an ounce lighter while being a bit larger which I personally think feels perfect.

But it sounds like you may be better suited with the smaller Pro or last gen's phones.

I went from the 15 Pro to the 16 Pro and I don't really notice the increase in weight, but I do notice the increase in screen size and I love it. I also have a Mini 12 and I love the little phone for portability, but it is hard for my old eyes to use the screen.

For me i think the weight is at its limit. I feel the additional weight everywhere. In the pocket, one handed, laying on the couch, etc. Love the phone but it needs to do some cardio.
you took me out with the cardio haha. I would be dope if they could drop a software update to make the phone lighter

Me too. I don't see any differences between the phone, other than the new one has a USB-C port, which is the one and only one reason I upgraded.
If you had a 15PM the overall weight and height of the phone feels much bigger. I went and used my 15PM today and it’s noticeably lighter and easier to use
