I thought it was going to be 2-4MB, but shared L2 cache. Either way, 4MB will be great, 64-bit will be great and by the time my current, (and not posessed), MBP comes around to be replaced, we will have advanced even further and Desktops will be more for Entry-level or high-end markets. Laptops really are becoming more and more standard computing it seems.generik said:Big difference. the Merom is 64 bit and has 4mb of cache memory per core.
Think of it as the G5 for laptops

For a 13.3" MBP, you could be looking at not a MBP, but MBx which is an ultra-portable. The x is undecided as of yet in my mind, but you would be looking at prices near the 15" model, with perhaps similar specs too, but compressed into something that weighs around a kilo or so.
Don't we all.jaredbbauer said:I want a 12 inch
Joking aside, (average size does me well enough thanks and 15" is my desire laptop-wise), I know what you mean, but I see the line going fully widescreen with the next revisions. I think a lot will also get used to the new 13.3" model, even if they do resist it at first. Remember, it may be slightly wider, but it is shorter and will weigh about the same. It certainly is the better option.jaredbbauer said:If they had a 12 inch I would buy three! My business partners and I love our current 12's I dont want a 13.3 I don't want a 15 and I do not understand why anyone would ever want a 17.
Please Steve! GIVE US A 12!!!!!!!!!!!

Cough. $637 at launch. If Apple introduce that as an upgrade feature for one of their lines, it could potentially give us a possible $5000 BTO laptop.
LFrascogna said:This seems counter intuitive. The 17" is a huge niche market. I've only seen about 3 in my life, and this includes architecture school studios and architects. Whereas I've seen tons of 12".
Either way, I'm holding onto my G4 TiBook 15" and G5 iMac 20" until the intel 12" arrives. (or the 13.3, oooh)
you want something to be considered a PORTABLE COMPUTER to be more than 17''?!?!?!?!? Call me crazy but who besides you would want to lug anything that big around. People already complain about the 17'' being massive...Di9it8 said:Having used a 17" PowerBook for 2 years, I would expect at least a 17" replacement, or maybe a larger screen still??!!
In my field of design 17" PBs are what we all use.![]()
