Wasn't this update kind of big (246,4 MB), considering it just contains a couple of bug fixes?

Even .1 releases require a full download. Apple lays out a new OS with each update, not just patching the files they fixed or updated. That way they can bundle it into a single file.

I need copy and paste -- if you give it to me I promise i'll look like a lost dog for the next ten minutes.

Over-the-Air Updates?

I wish we had at least over-the-wifi updates!

I left my cable at home and won't be back for days...

...come to think of it I can't complain about any crashes so I doubt it matters.

Well, I guess it is time to lose my JB applications and do a full restore. Pity, I do like having a mobile terminal; but I think having a more optimized OS is worth the loss.

So now that the USB drivers on Mac OS 10.5.6 are purposefully designed to cause an error for the "Pwnage" series of programs, what will everyone do if a new 2.2.1-compatible JB procedure is released? Flash under Windows? Or does using a powered USB hub work? I've always been a little sketched out by the idea of flashing something with a USB hub--it seems that most hubs really, really suck when it comes to real-time connection reliability, latency and constancy of USB bandwidth.

Let me be the party pooper for a minute here...

iPhone update, big deal: I've had it for a year and half now, and I still can't send MMS, nor receive any (always makes me feel stupid when I receive one and I have to explain to the sender I can't see it...), but also no Flash player (I mean c'm'on Steve, what's the big deal, won't you let that one go for the sake of your customer's good user experience?), nor the ability to send the contact info of someone to an existing contact without having to write it down on a piece of paper and rewrite it down in a text message or email (my old analog Nokia has had this feature since 2002...). Am I the only one to be frustrated with this?

I haven't even updated yet and Safari is already snappier. Thanks Apple !!! ;)

+1

In fact, I think I'll go ahead and just sit this one out (which will mark the first time since Nov '07 that I haven't jumped on a firmware update ASAP) ... It's utterly PATHETIC that it took them this long to fix the camera roll problem. Way to be sitting on your ***es all this time, Apple.

iLife '09 Support?

Anyone have iLife '09 installed? I would suspect that this patch would allow the iPhone Photo app to support Places/Faces browsing? It seems more logical being released on the day iLife '09 was released.

Old updates...

Old updates are kept somewhere and I don't remember where...

Does anyone know?

Back a while ago I found all of the past updates. You can save a lot of room on small hard drives by deleting old ones...
