Not a chance. If they weren't making a profit off them, they wouldn't be selling the desktops. Imagine the Apple store with a few laptops and ipods dotted about - it would hardly draw people in off the street.
I agree with you completely AlexisV. A lot of people think that the way they experience something is the way everyone must experience it. I see this a lot with college students. They are very mobile people, moving from dorms to their parents homes, back to a new dorm or apartment, etc. A laptop perfectly fits this lifestyle. Though Macs are very popular with college students, a lot of other people buy them as well. There are artists, musicians, photographers, entertainment lovers, graphic artists, business people, engineers, and tons of other types of people. Everyone has their personal needs and for many a laptop doesn't fit the bill. Many people have absolutely no need for portability and the other features of a desktop such as monitor, keyboard, and mouse make computing more comfortable.
