Buffalo will make a surge the second half of the season and go on to win the Super Bowl. There will be a huge ticker tape parade and the 4 Super bowl losses will all but be forgotten. A guy can dream cant he. GO BILLS!!!

Tommy Maddox sucks but I think it would be awesome if Antwan Randle El went under center. What a threat
What a threat? There is a reason Randle El isn't under center in the NFL. At IU he was a good college/option type QB, but he wouldn't even be in the league if he depended on his passing skills.

For all the flack the Bills got from the losses, they're still the only team to go to four straight, which was an enormous accomplishment (I don't think any other team has even done 3). They just happened to be going in the era of the real dominant NFC teams.

I'd be thrilled if they won their division. And not just because it would probably mean New England would be shut out. I've always liked Buffalo as a team, plus they have Mike Mularkey, among other personnel inherited from Pittsburgh.

Who said you needed his passing skills.

Um, I dunno, anyone who wants the Steelers to win might want a QB that can pass the ball. What are you just gonna run options the entire game?

Seriously, Randle would run, have some success, and then some LB would crush him and that would be it...

I feel guilty with my lack of faith in my favorite team (Burgh) But tommy is just so gut wrenching to watch, I can't even look when he drops back....

Well, I'll still love the burgh even if Tommy has 9 picks, 4 fumbles, and his leg falls off...they're such a fun team to get into...

That being said, we're going to need Balt and Indi to beat themselves, particularily the latter...Indi looks amazing, some how they got even better than last year...The only team the can beat them is themselves..

should be fun...watch out for flying tommy parts..:p

My guess is that being on the road, he'll have less of that home-field pressure, and will have a real decent game against the Ravens. At least one TD pass (for the offense, not one returned by the defense). And Staley will have a big game.

Dave

haha, that's crazy. It's home dis-advantage. ;)

You don't even need a linebacker to crush him. I don't care how good your backfield is, if D's stack 8 or 9 guys in the box 'cause they know you can't throw the ball it's gonna be a long day.

I think you are giving the Colts way too much credit. They are better than last year but they are beatable. They have just had the luck of playing crappy and/or severely injured teams all season. Any better than average team would at least be 7-2 w/the Colts schedule IMO. Starting w/the Cincy game the rest of the season will show the Colts true colors. That being said, I think the Colts will beat Cincy (whom have played a soft schedule as well). The Stealers will be the Colts first big challenge (assuming Big Ben didn't get too rusty).

Enough with the Colts not being as good as their record is.

They were given their opponents, and so far they've beaten all of them by an average of 16 points. They have the best quarterback in the nfl, a top 3 running back, and a top 3 wide receiver. O-line: manning has been sacked a grand total of 6 times this year, edge is the leading rusher in the afc.

They have the best pash-rushing d-line, the 4th ranked defense, and are only giving up 12.8 points a game.

yeah, the colts are overrated...

All against crappy or injured teams (except week 3 against Jacksonville and that was far from a blow-out victory). People like spouting stats, but what's wrong w/talking about the other half of the equation (the opponents)? I never said the Colts were a bad team. I've repeatedly said that the Colts are better than they were last year. They are probably the best team in the NFL right now, but until this last stretch of the season the Colts pretty much had a cake walk (as of today only 2 opponents w/winning records and 6 of the 9 teams they've played so far have 3 wins or less). Like I keep saying, you put any above average team in place of the Colts and they'll be at least 7-2, IMO.

Until they put together wins against other strong teams I'm not gonna give them the "uber-team" crown. It's impressive that they are 9-0 but looking at their schedule I'm not surprised. They should be 9-0.

I remember that game very well indeed....

It was against Tennessee, and it was a game that pretty much ruined that season for the burgh..Tommy got his neck bruised or broken, whatever, it was messed up...and he came back to play a few games later to everone's amazement..but he was very timid, and never really was himself after that..

Indi has been playing weakish teams, but even a weak team is a team of pro athletes..so what should they be doing..winning by 30 points, 50?....

They are making it look easy.

Maybe Tommy will have a great game, nothing would make me happier..we'll see.

Go Burgh!

quigly-

gotta ask. spend any ammount of time in pittsburgh, or just pick up the team over the years?

if i'm heading up to BC next fall, are there any steeler bars in vancouver?

He better have a good game. With so many good teams this year in the AFC, every game is almost a must win for the playoffs.

I get to go to the vikings vs. steelers game in december. g/f surprised me with tickets and its going to be my first nfl game. Can't wait:D

not this weekend. winter just arrived. i need a few weeks to adjust. unfortunately, if the bears keep this "winning" thing up (or, so long as the rest of the division keeps the "losing" thing up), tix will be scarce.

blackhawks tix are pretty easy to come by, though. :)

i'm originally from pittsburgh, so i spend my sundays at the dark horse or durkins (northside's best steeler bars)

but i will try my damndest to get into the steelers/bears game. oh how sweet that would be.

Hey, Ya I grew up in the Burgh..now I live in Van, BC...Heading to BC next? Smart move..

"any steeler bars in vancouver?"

Ya right....it's tough enough to even get coverage of highlights, let alone games...but this year has been nice (due to the Burghs 15-1 record last year no doubt) but I've only had to go to the local bar with NFL ticket three times out of the 9 games played so far...so that's good for being in a Hockey saturated city/country...But the local bar with nfl ticket is called "mahoney's bar and Grill" and it's on Robson Street, if you remember in the next 6 months or so...:p

I'll be the gnarly guy screaming at the big screen tv's. Or staring at the insanely hot waitresses...one of the two...

GO BURGH!!!!...and F-it....Tommy's going to BLOW it UP!! or blow up, one or the other....

ugh

on the steelers:
ugly game, steelers. ugly game. thanks for keeping it exciting, though.

3rd downs are going to kill this team at some point. Kill them.

on the upside, i say if big ben plays a whole season, they're 9-1. with him playing they're just a much, much better team.

on the colts:
clearly better than the bengals, but clearly beatable. looking forward to next week.

on the bengals:
clearly good. looking forward to seven years of big ben vs. carson palmer match ups.

The Chargers looked good too - Now I'm cursing leaving Brees on my fantasy bench

Was also impressed by the Niners against the Seahawks - they really made a game of it considering... or perhaps the NFC just sucks all over.

I can't believe that Tampa are joint leaders of the NFC South - I saw them play a couple of weeks ago and they were dreadful... And they weren't all that great today against the Falcons. Not to mention their two lucky breaks with replay calls at the end of home games...

Yuk... don't remind me. The Panthers played like crap today... if it wasn't for Jake's two lame-ass INTs, the Panthers might have actually won the game.

But thank goodness the Bucs were able to defeat the Vicks... I'd rather be tied with Tampa (whom we pretty much own) than the Dirty Birds.

And look who Tampa's got next week....da Bears!

Perhaps the Bears and Panthers will have a rematch in the playoffs.

The Bears defense looked top shelf today, totally impressed.

the Bears need to find an offense and they would be as solid as any team ...

Looks like it falls to me to mention the Browns...we won, yes!!!

Two 3-6 teams, I know, but the Browns played solid football today. Miami didn't really show up, but it was still encouraging to watch Cleveland run and pass with success, without making any huge mistakes (missed PAT, 1 INT but that was by our second stringer QB, who was inexplicably brought in during the second quarter).

The Browns have been a bottom feeder so long I'm excited to think that they are on the same path to success that the Bengals followed. it takes time, but I think they finally have the head coach to do it.

And as for the Colts... it can't possibly last much longer. They are very strong but undefeated? My money says no.

One thing I've learned over the years, there's always a steelers bar in any given town. Now, Vancouver I'd be impressed with, but really, it's uncanny anywhere you go. I used to think, wow, there's alot of Steelers fans in this one city, but then it's also the next city, and the next. Any sports bar will have most of the fans watching the Steelers game - unless it's a city with an NFL team, in which case, the game with the SECOND most fans will be the steelers game. Always makes you feel like home even when you're away.
