Cowher Takes The Blame

and that deep ball interception I referred to in a previous post, that was thrown to Nate Washington, not Santonio Holmes. My mistake.

Though the same thing applies...Washington needs to get better position and make a play for the ball...

Brady is awesome, no doubt about it. But a lot of the kudos for his skill HAS to lie with the O-Line. Those dudes give him MASSIVE protection.

Not to keep harping on about my favorite team, the Ravens, as I am sure nobody really cares about them outside of Baltimore, but I just WISH we had an offensive line as good as the Pats. I think that with our current defense, special teams and QB, they could really be shaking up the NFL. Our O-line. while not really terrible, could definetely do a better job of giving McNair more protection.

I do have one friend in London who adopted the Ravens as her team but I must say they're one of my least favourite teams to watch.

While I love good defense, the problem is that the Ravens offense is often painful to watch even against other average defenses. So the Ravens are never my first choice of game to watch on Gamepass... I'd rather watch something where there's more of a chance of a deep ball being caught.

I have to agree with you somewhat. Watching the Ravens play (if you aren't a fan) is nothing like watching the Colts, the Pats or even Green Bay. Hopefully, as Steve McNair gets more comfortable with the offensive packages, it might get a bit more exciting. Still wish we had a big strong offensive line like we did for SB 35.

Isn't it funny after a team starts to get good the "fans" come out of the woodwork.

Case in point: The Bears.

You can call me biased b/c I am a huge Packer fan and CHI is one of our arch enemies, but its funny how I see more bears hats, shirts, coats and other stuff on people now that they are a decent team.

Speaking of the Bears, I can't wait until they play the Pats here in a few weeks. Even though I don't like the AFC or call myself a fan of the Patriots, they are a good team with a coaching staff that knows what they are doing.

Hopefully they will expose the Bears as the frauds they are the are and people will shut up talking about how good that fraudster Rex Grossman is.

***end of rant***

sounds like the rant of a jealous packers fan with a poor poor team in favre's final year (a few years too late). ;)

lol...jealous, nah. It's just customary to trash talk your division rivals.

On the poor team, come on. I think the Packers can pull 2nd place in the NFC North because the ViQueens keep self destructing (another overrated team with a washed up fraud QB) and the Pack doesn't exactly have the hardest schedule out there.

Nov 5 Bills
Nov 12 Viqueens
Nov 19 Patriots
Nov 27 Seahawks
Dec 03 Jets
Dec 10 San Fran
Dec 17 Detroit
Dec 21 Viqueens at Lambeau (I hope its cold and snowy for Shortwell's return)
Dec 31 Bears (may be a win since they will probably be sitting their starters)

minnesota ain't great, but they've played much better than the packers

but you're right, maybe they'll nab second place with 7-9 or something... what good will that do? and how did the comparison to the bears turn into a comparison to the vikings? ;)

I started talking about the hunt for 2nd place and of course that would mean unseating the Vikings.

I'm going to have fun watching the Packers get better. They were shut out in the first game by Chicago. That hadn't been done in YEARS. Two losses were real close ones against St. Louis and New Orleans.

It will be a few years until the Packers are real contenders, I admit. The secondary needs work so does the WR position. When GB is activating practice squad members in Week 5, that shows depth in the position is lacking. You can only draft so many players.

But Ted Thompson knows what he is doing in the draft, so there is hope. His free agency acquisitions though, not so good (see: Charles Woodson and Marques Manuel).

Steelers suck, it's official.
What happened with Detroit?
Nice job by the Skins pulling off the last second win over their hated foe.
I can't believe the Fish destroyed the Bears.
Damn Pats. No team can commit 8+ penalites and 4+ turnovers and win. Brady didn't look so good. Thoguh 2 of his INTs weren't totally his fault. Oh well. 2 losses to very respectable teams. <sigh>

Once again, an odd week for the NFL.

Steelers record sucks, but at least everyone was able to see why they keep losing...the turnovers.
Ravens keep winning.
Detroit - nice win.
Buffalo decided to play D again.
Giants got away with one...;)
Redskins - Thanks...;) (Eagles fan in me)
Minnesota - way to tank your season
Miami, thanks for re-exposing Grossman (Arizona did it first)
Brady had a bad game, Manning was better last night for sure, but the game ws still close.
KC keeps on trucking with LJ.
Why did San Diego have so much trouble with Cleveland?
Jacksonville seems to have a renewed interest sice beating the Birds last week.

End of recap...;)

I have to agree.. the Ravens/Giants superbowl was one of the most boring I can remember.

as a Steeler fan, I've gotta say that Superbowl XL was one of the worst I've ever seen. What a dull game. It was cool to see them win, but the boredom really took a lot of the fun out of it.

Wither Cardinals?

word around the campfire is that Dennis Green is done in Arizona after this season. There's been speculation that they'll bring in Pete Carroll, who did nothing in the pros last time around, or that they'll bring in Ron Rivera, currently the Bears defensive coordinator.

for my money, I think they should make a play for Jeff Fisher. He's rumored to be leaving the Titans after this season, and his name has been mentioned in connection with the anticipated vacancies at the Cowboys and the Chargers.

any thoughts?

Week 9

Packers - My Packers out throw the Bills 147/64 yds., Bills only hit 11 first downs vs. Green Bay's 26, etc etc and they still lose. D**n turnovers. They should just start purposely losing for draft position now. Seasons more than likely over.

Dolphins - Bravo! One of their washed up NFC North QB's took care of the undefeated Bears. If Indy is still undefeated on Dec 31st, I expect only the same.

Tampa Bay - Joey Galloway's worthless. He's costing me Fantasy games.

Vikings - Mid season is here evident by them beginning to self destruct. Brad Johnson is a fraud and is showing it. Keep it up next week.

Bears- Ha Bears! I love it when Grossman's exposed.

Man, I hope that doesn't happen. I wouldn't wish that on Fisher since I like him. (I've stated my prolonged disdain for the football Cardinals in another post) It's true though, he seems to be done in Music City. Short of changing the name Titans to Tetons, I don't see him around, next year, but I think he has some good coaching skills to offer.

How about Mike Tice?? :D

The Saints looked pretty good Sunday, and I'm glad Detroit beat Atlanta.

That Pats/Colts game was a fun one to watch! I felt bad for Brady, two of those INTs weren't his fault at all. I didn't care which team won, I just wanted a good game - and got it.
