I have a brown paper grocery sack here with your name on it. How wide do you want me to cut the eyeholes? ;)

That's funny. I did that to a Redskins fan in my office a couple years ago. That bag mask hung around for a good while and got alot of laughs at the poor Redskin fans expense.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot.

How bout dem Ravens

The Ravens would still lose if they faced the Bears.

That's OK if you want to think that. I hope it makes you feel better.
Da Bears have lost once this year, so it isn't that much of a stretch to believe that they could be beat again. Anyway, the Bears do appear to be a powerhouse team this year, but let's keep those unsupportable (since they don't play each other) predictions of yours under control until the Bears are holding up the Vince Lombardi trophy.

First time in twenty years the Bears are really looking like contenders, and the big talk comes out. Guess it's been hard holding it all in for so long huh? hehehehe

BTW: Good luck getting past the Pats. If you do, great, but if you don't, you will surely hear it in here. You left the door wide open to get slammed if the Bears lose that game.

i'm glad the bears seem to be back on track after their loss to Miami. the past two weeks have shown that they can hold things together, but its still a fine line that they walk it seems to me. i hope they can continue to do well through the playoffs. they just can't get cocky.

Still making me yawn... Please, please, please get a more interesting offensive playbook... The Ravens have been shown 2 of the last 3 weeks on UK TV and I've had more than enough of them. The sooner they go on a losing streak the better ;)

The Bears haven't been much better to be honest... but I have more respect for Bears fans since anyone who supports a team that means they have to tailgate with the subzero winds coming off and rarely get a chance to leap out of their seats for a score deserves it!

Most exciting teams to watch at the moment are the Chargers and Bengals since you know that they've got the offense to suddenly break a long TD and change the game...

I'm still slightly in shock over the Niners being at .500 tho I'm sure the only reason that they won on Sunday was to spite me for not making it out there as I was planning on being.

Today was the Willie Parker Show...

A nice win for the Steelers. At least were not as bad as AZ.....

yea Holmes finally looks like he's settling in. I'd be thrilled in the Steelers could get to 10-6, though I have to admit it seems unlikely.

what's up with the Cowboys? They've been playing great lately. Romo might be the answer.

Well, luckily, a team doesn't have to be exciting to get to and win the Super Bowl. Of course I am in no way predicting that the Ravens will make it to the Super Bowl (even though it would be nice). Watching offense rich teams play may be good for TV, it isn't what always wins. More often than not, it's a strong defense that keeps a team in the hunt during the cold, hard playoff race at the end of the season.

Rumor has it that he might be dating Jessica Simpson. That would surely make anyone play better. YUMMMMMMMMY. :p :p :p
Frankly, I'm surprised he'd still have the energy to play.

Back to football, I agree that the Bears haven't been too exciting to watch as of late, although last week's victory over the Giants wasn't so bad. It will be interesting to see how they play against the Pats next week. It will be a tough match-up, especially with Brady being able to generally make good decisions at QB.

I've gotta give that one to the Patriots. Giants/Jets/Patriots in consecutive weeks on the road...it would be asking a lot of any team to win all of those. Going 2-1 on that kind of road trip is nothing to be ashamed of.

if the Bears do win, I'll be mightily impressed. I'd be well-inclined to rank them ahead of the Colts if they can pull it off.

Bengals? Exciting? Seems like they were so exciting that they tired themselves out. That 5 and 5 record is really exciting stuff. Maybe you mean seeing Chad Johnson list his name on his jersey (wrongly) as Ocho Cinco. That's really exciting as well.

The Colts aren't going to do anything except get into the playoffs and break the hearts of their fans. The Baltimore curse has been holding true and I don't expect anything less than another Indy choke this year. It's to bad to, cause Peyton really is quite talented but I don't think he can get past the curse. :D :D :D

The niners have been surprising me all season. I am mighty happy to see them pull together and having imho such a great season. I was shocked to see them win against Seattle!

Oh I know... the Ravens Superbowl win proved that one. Defense wins championships yada yada... and I do like watching good defense. It's just I like it tempered with an offense which has the skills to score quickly and an offensive philosophy that allows them to open up the field occasionally. I'd happily watch a 3-0 game where both team defenses are making big plays to stop the offense going anywhere. It's a different story when short-yardage play calling and lack of fundamentals stop the offense without the other team D playing well. To be fair, the Ravens have opened it up slightly in the last week or so but honestly, to watch the playoffs, I have to sit up til 4am... it's easier to do with an exciting game!

It's not the record that makes me quite like watching the current Bengal vintage (never thought I'd be saying that!) and seeing them as exciting. It's the fact that the Bengals could have the ball in the last minute of a game and they have the personnel to be able to launch a rocket downfield and score - you just can't count them out of a close game.

It's the same exciting as the Rams had (and still do occasionally) since they'd throw a 70-yard pass to Holt or Bruce and pull out the win. The Niners used to do with with Rice or Owens and it's exhilarating for both sets of fans. One because they never give up hope even when the play clock gets to 30 seconds or so... the other because they have to keep biting their fingernails until the final play.

On the other hand, the 'boring' teams are those where, sure, they might have the ball with 3 minutes left, 3 timeouts and 80 yards to go but you just know that they'll be pushing it to get a field goal.

Is it wrong that I picked and wanted the Browns to defeat the Steelers? So ****ing close...

Funny. True, but funny. Just on a personal level (due to all the crap we had to listen to last year when the Steelers won the SB) I would be routing for them to lose EVERY game. Like I tell the Steelers fan in my office, "Oh how the mighty have fallen". Of course be responds with "It's a re-building year". How classic. hehehehe

OK, so I realize its VERY unlikely that this would happen, but...

Miami is 3 games behind New England. New England plays the Bears this weekend and if they loose (very possible), and Miami wins, then Miami is back by only two games. If they could then pick up one more game on New England, they may have a chance to be in the playoffs because they finish the regular season against New England.

Aaaaand now that Ive said that, I just realized that Miami's division record is so pathetic they would probably need to beat New England by a whole game. Sheesh. And I thougt it was a big stretch to imagine them catching us. No way they can win the division by a whole game unless NE takes some SERIOUS injuries and just totally falls apart.

Im just grasping at anything to make this season not feel like the embarassing failure its been.

Correct. Their division record is 0-3. NE is 4-1. There are only 3 more division games for Miami for the rest of the season. Even if they won them all, they couldn't win the divison unless they were a full game ahead of NE at the end. Good luck with that. ;)

So the best they can hope for is a wild card slot.. and that's pretty unlikely with Denver and Jacksonville in their way (not to mention Miami being 12th place in the AFC).

Just a reminder to everyone still participating in the Pick 'Em that entries are due on Thursday pretty much from now until the end of the season.

I love Thanksgiving football - I just hope they're good games this year.

Soooo... Im praying to the injury gods that Brady and about 8 other starters go down for the season and Miami goes on a winning streak? No problem.

Loved this quote from today's ESPN Power Rankings (Panthers now #8 in the rankings!):

DeAngelo Williams' emergence gives the Panthers so many weapons that the United Nations is thinking of asking for sanctions against Carolina.
Of course, they can ask for all the sanctions they want, but we all know nothing will actually happen. ;)
