It's the kind of play and ending of a season that unfortunately he'll play over in his mind until he can file it properly. I didn't stick around to watch recaps, but it didn't seem the snap from center was all that bad.

Some players never recover from a play like that and they can even be carreer enders, he did a classic Bill Buckner on that play. Just like the field goal kicker for Buffalo in the 80's that lost that SuperBowl for them. The Bills went to the SB I think 4 times? And lost every one of them...

One interesting thing about that play. It didn't necessarily lose them the game -- they might have lost anyway, with 1:19 on the clock and Seattle possessing a great kicker.

True, but it was kind of the proverbial nail in the coffin though, barring the last minute miracle drive field goal kick option.

The snap was fine, he caught it fine, then he went to place it, and.........yeah.

I'm not a Cowboys fan in the least, but poor guy.

Has anyone seen or heard an update on Shaun Alexander? He limped off after breaking loose on his last run.

Yup... the press who were building him up so much earlier will be knocking him down this morning...

Having said that, he did well to avoid defenders to get the Hail Mary off but while I guess he had to throw it to TO, did Owens really try to get the ball? Looked like a halfhearted leap in the air - he left 5 defenders get into the air ahead of him (unless of course he was being held by one of them) but I thought he looked like he was playing for a flag and an untimed down from the one rather than the ball.

Cracking game though just what you need at 4 in the morning to keep you awake!

The other game was a little dull. The Chiefs offense just wasn't firing and I don't think you can put it all on a sudden turnaround by the Colts defense. The Chiefs just didn't play well. They need some better receivers. Green didn't have a great game but how many passes did Kennison drop? And Parker was virtually invisible...

I can't believe how many passes Gonzalez dropped. I guess he's just past his prime now. Yep, that was a lousy game, unless you're a Colt's fan. Hard to beat Seattle/Dallas for wildness/excitement.

Woo-hoo!

Great games.

All I can say is WOW for the Colt's D. That was an incredible defensive turn around. I'm sure fans are wondering why they didn't do that earlier in the season.

Now to gloat about the Pats win...

Yup, I was terrified of LJ running up 200+ on my tiny Colts D. That first series set the tone of the game though.

Good work seeing off the Jets. I really hope the Pats can take care of SD and setup another Colts v Pats championship game.

Hmmm, talk about putting the cart before the horse. Since when do the Colts step from the wildcard game to the SuperBowl. In case you haven't noticed, the Colts path to the SuperBowl has to go through Baltimore. I guess maybe you are discounting Baltimore's abilities. That's OK, they did the same thing in '01 and the Ravens won the whole darn thing. Lets see, the Colts last won the Superbowl when? Oh yeah, they were the BALTIMORE COLTS att. hehehe

Wow, you are touchy.

Perhaps I should have said IF...... and IF........

However....

I got so tired of hearing the TV peeps saying how well the Colts D stepped up and shut down KC. I was like, "Did you watch the same game I did?" The Colts D didn't step up, the KC O imploded. Dropped passes, bad play calling, poor execution. The only reason the Colts won is because KC's offense played so horribly, horribly bad.

Lethal

And I'm not sure I would be so cock-sure when the Ravens have only been to the SB once. :)

what do previous seasons really have to do with this one? with the exception of the prior years that involved the same players and coaching, i hate it when announcers talk about that game 20 years ago where the _____ franchise blew it. who cares? whole new set of circumstances now

that said, i hope san diego takes the afc.

Absolutely nothing if more than 60% of your players are different.

But I can't stand it when people lord "oh yeah, how many SBs have you been to?" over someone.

That's so true. Perfect example, loook at the Green Bay Packers. They were able to double their wins from last year, but can they be classified as an "improved" team?

Virtually all their offensive line was new this year, new receivers, starting linebackers, cornerbacks, strong safety, defensive tackle, changed out KGB, new kicker & punter etc.

Sportscasters like to compare apples to oranges. I mean if the roster was a carbon copy vs. the previous year, then I could see "improvement" calls. But more often than not, bad teams improve by changing player makeups.

Well for the record, he was talking about a Colts / Pats AFC championship game, not the Super Bowl.

I realize that I mentioned the SB and the original poster did not, but the point remains the same. The Colts path has to go through Baltimore. Am I touchy? Maybe. Baltimore gets dis'd alot. As for being cock-sure, I don't think I am. I think the Ravens have just as much chance of winning as the Colts. I have hopes that the usual Colts defense shows up instead of that group of imposters that played last weekend. I also have some high hopes that we will see Mr Manning take some of those shots like big Ben R. took from Bart Scott. The biggest concern I have is Freeney(?). to be quite honest. He ate up J. Ogden the last time they met on the field.

Baltimore gets dis'd alot.

really? from here i see that indy's d gets a lot of heat, peyton takes heat for never winning the big one, phillip rivers is questioned as able to lead the chargers to the SB this soon, the pats are only recently hitting their stride... really haven't heard a lot of negatives talked about over and over with the ravens. third person paranoia?
