I went for it. And it works! :D

Quality is pretty impressive so far (it's only been streaming for 10 minutes!) :p and the branding is just the standard Sunday Ticket stuff. If only they'd let it go double-size/full screen on the Mac...

Doesn't seem to take too long to buffer so should be able to switch games reasonably easily too :D

Happy football watching everyone... it's not the same when there's only one game on like Thursday!
::NFL envy:: :D
Enjoy!

So he's got feeling in all his limbs (thankfully)... but can't remember being hit (unsurprisingly)

Wonder how long he might be out if he's concussed...

IMHO, that was a cheap shot. He was going down, feet first. Was there a penalty flag? I only saw the highlight. Should've been a personal foul.

I really hate when the broadcaster doesn't use the yellow line.

I know I watched football for years without it but you do kinda get used to it.

And Fox ain't using it in the Niners@Cardinals game... and it's annoying! Especially when they zoom in on the ball carrier so you have no perception of how many yards they've got on the play.

Not immediately, the Bengal was blocked into him...

yea I saw the replay again...I didn't notice the guy shoving the other guy into him. If Green is out for an extended period, KC is freakin' done for. They've got nobody behind him.

Anyone else picking the Colts over the Giants in the "brother against brother" game, tonight?

Yup... unless the Giants defense really step it up, I can't see it being as competitive as the media are touting...

Will be tucked up in bed by then though :(

Thoughts on the streaming NFL are that it's absolutely brilliant and is well worth £8.50 a week. Yes, it's a bit of a pain that I can't resize it, but then, hey, I wouldn't be able to have a browser window open to post here, check other games to see if they're worth switching over to and so on. The picture has been been really clear and the stream hasn't needed constant buffering.

The funniest thing is getting the US adverts though! Big trucks, big food, bad beer... but can I say that the 'Scotland' flag football advert is awful. The closest those actors have been to Scotland is a bottle of whisky. :D

Some surprising results... my Niners played better than I thought they would. But you can still see the rust on most of those offenses. Fantasy wise, it's been a bad night - Carson Palmer...argh!

Ya, I didn't watch the Niners vs. Cardinals game. Warner threw for 3 TDs?
I do not care for the Cardinals probably much the same way you don't care for the Rams. (History with owner while in St. Louis which moved the Cardinals to Arizona, even though they originally came from Chicago.) Anyway......

It sounds like you've made a good choice in going for the NFL package and, at the same time, getting interaction on the keyboard which beats a noisy bar when second half roles around. Good show. ;)

Surprisingly entertaining game where the offenses were ahead of the defenses for a change in week 1. When Warner got protection he was able to toss the ball around but if they want to get to the post season, that O-line will have to step up. The 49ers have a lousy pass rush and still managed to get to him several times. Frank Gore had a great game and really showed why they dumped Barlow off to New York (never could stand him). Alex Smith had his best pro game - he actually looked like an NFL QB although he throws off his back foot a little too much for my liking.

We had Dallas@Jax on normal TV but didn't bother going into the Chicago game at all. In the early games, I switched to most of them at various points... just because I could! :D Tampa were astonishingly bad - has Chris Simms regressed so far? Did he work out with Alex Smith in the offseason? And Denver didn't show much either - can Plummer feel Cutler breathing down his neck? Carolina need Steve Smith back... Delhomme's targetless without him pretty much.

Buffalo and Detroit were better than I thought they might be but did revert to form when it mattered in the 4th.

Right you are. Warner doesn't scramble and has to be able to step back in the pocket and be protected.

"just because I could!" - gotta love it! :D

Congratulations

I've gotta give props to NBC for finding something even worse than Hank Williams, Jr. to open the prime-time game. None other than Pink.

ABC set the bar pretty low, so it must've taken a LOT of work to figure out a way to go under it. That's impressive :p

Looks now like the Colts are going to get the W. NY's offensive misfires really hurt them, but I thought Eli did well except for the fumble and clock management. I was expecting a Colt romp. Of course, there's still around 10 minutes left to play, so anything can happen.

Don't speak so soon...

It looks like we should just fold the MR fantasy football league into this thread. That being said - can I get a real challenge?

Anyway, I didn't have a chance to watch too much today, just caught the ends of the Dallas/Jacksonville and the Arizona/SF games. I was impressed with the poise of Smith and the game management in general by the Cardinals. I think that Hail Mary was really well thrown, and the the decision to go for the FG rather than taking a shot or two at the end zone and then kicking (or alternatively, faking the FG) was pretty gutsy and almost paid off. I see good things for them this year, and much redemption for Smith (unless, they were down because he played horribly for the first 59 minutes). Drew on the other hand is in trouble. If it wasn't Tony Romo behind him on the chart, I'd expect to see him drop to the practice squad. Of course, the people seem to want Romo....I mean, how could he throw a pick, get a reprieve, get sacked, and then throw another pick? I mean, two picks in two throws? It totally wiped out any good karma he built up on the drive before...

Daunte would likely be in a similar situation except that Fins fans know that Joey Harrington is behind him and that's really no better...

Incidentally, thought I'd throw up a screengrab of the NFL Game Pass window this is actual size on my PB... not huge but relatively clear...

Even though the niners didnt win i was really impressed with their performance. I think they did better in this game than they did most all of last season :) I'm looking forward to watching them play more :)

Deion Branch has been sent to the Seahawks in exchange for a 1st round pick in the 2007 draft.

And yes, I waited until after I picked him up before posting this...:D
