The Devils have won 14 in a row. I'm hoping they can stretch that to 15 tomorrow when they finish off the Rangers, then tack another 12 or so on the end of that. :)

My biggest concern, as their winning streak goes on, is how well they'll bounce back from their first defeat in the playoffs. *knocks on wood* Then again ... Who's to say the Devils can't win 27 in a row? :)

Did anyone else see the Campbell hit on Umburger? Wow. That gives me flashbacks of the Stevens hit on Kariya a few years ago in the Devils/Ducks finals. :)

Are they even aware that they're in the playoffs?

Beats me, but I bugs the heck out of me. They finished with the best record in hockey, but can't put away the 8 seed. I really hope they get back on track and take the next 2 games.

Wings/Avs in the next round (Please, please, please). Get ready for some real playoff fun. :D

Well they got a lucky break on that non-call. Oil better hold the fort.

Edit:: Sens won tonight, beat the bolts 4-1, onto the next round : )

If you watched the game, Turco was bent over after the OT goal by the Av's like he just got kicked in the nuts. First to advance in the Western Conference.

LET'S GO AVALANCHE!

Yea I saw that. It looked like he was crying and Bouchard was consoling him. I felt bad for him. I felt he played an amazing game and lost because his team wasn't good enough offensively.

Oh, no doubt. I think Turco is an AMAZING goalie. He makes some of the craziest saves ever. It's a shame his team couldn't be effective enough. I felt bad for him too, and then the Avs fan in me came out and I cheered again.

Honestly tho, I thought the Stars did pretty well offensively. I haven't really liked Theodore up until this point, but after his performance today, I'm having second thoughts...he saved a lot of shots (36 in the regular periods alone)

Do you mean Jose Theodore? 50 saves, he played well, but Dallas was taking shots from anywhere. If he can get back to his hart/ vezina form look out, and he'll have to be against Thornton, Cheechoo, Marleau and the rest of the Sharks.

Those 52 saves don't really mean much though. Dallas was just gaining the line and rather than dumping it into the corner, shooting on theo.

It's a shame Theodore hasn't had more time to play with the Avs. It takes time to learn your goaltender and know what he's going to do. If Theodore had been playing with the Avs all season, I would not want to be the Sharks right now. I wouldn't be surprised if a goal is let in because of poor communication with the D. There have been a few games I'v watched of him with the Avs where I'v noticed big miscommunications, none resulting in a goal though. In the playoffs you really can not have this happening.

OILERS WIN! OILERS WIN!
With four goals in the third, even. Amazing hockey.

Not only did a #1 seed just get eliminated by a #8 seed, but the team with the best regular season record (thus winning the President's Cup) got knocked out by a #8 seed. Has that *ever* happened before?

I'm not sure, but that last goal they scored was AWESOME. I can't wait to see who plays who in the second round. I'm about to watch Calgary lose too!

OMG that was exciting! I lost my voice from screaming so loud when Hemsky got that second goal!

I can't believe what just happened. That's a HUGE upset!

Wow I loved that game. That was an outstanding game of hockey.

Boy, my heart really goes out to all those Wings fans out there. I hope they enjoy carrying the President's trophy around this summer.

<end snarkiness>

Go Avs!
