Do you mean Jose Theodore? 50 saves, he played well, but Dallas was taking shots from anywhere. If he can get back to his hart/ vezina form look out, and he'll have to be against Thornton, Cheechoo, Marleau and the rest of the Sharks.

Heh...AP Tests are coming up...Thoreau....English....AHHHH

With four goals in the third, even. Amazing hockey.

Not only did a #1 seed just get eliminated by a #8 seed, but the team with the best regular season record (thus winning the President's Cup) got knocked out by a #8 seed. Has that *ever* happened before?

Not 100% sure, but I think when the #8-seeded Sharks beat Detroit in '94 in the first round, Detroit had won the President's.

Either way, it's hysterical watching the analysts stuggle because their beloved Red Wings are watching the playoffs. :D

We'll know tonight which California team is gonna get owned! Go Avs!

Surely, you cannot be talking about the Sharks. :) Actually, the general sentiment around here seems to be that most people would prefer Sharks/Avs. If that's the case, it should be a great series as these two teams have been evenly matched for a few years.

Slightly different note -- has anyone heard of plans for the warm weather teams to improve the ice quality? In years past, I know the San Jose staff has brought in giant de-humidifiers but they don't seem to work too well. Of course, playing hockey in an arena with palm trees out front is just wrong....

3 of the 8 remaining teams are Canadian, and it's a big possibility two of them will meet up in the finals. This is NBC's worst nightmare.

On a side note, anyone catch the Canadiens' game last night? I never saw so many broken sticks in my life.

(I'm currently on hold with Easton's warranty department now because my twice-used, $60 Synergy blade broke like a piece of ****. I swear they're not making them like they used to.)

Yeah, Sharks/Avs would be good, but I think the ducks would fall.

Best of all, my father just called and offered to buy two tickets for us to go to one of the games! WOOT!

I know! I think Souray alone broke three that game! I felt so bad for Koivu having to watch that game. It must have been a pretty hard decision whether to play or not.

Also did anyone notice that Yzerman was on the bench for the last minute of the Detroit game? What the hell was Babcock thinking? That was probably Steves last game before he retires. I think that was a big mistake not playing him, it seemes almost disrespectful.

Little late with this one but... Red Wings lost!!!! Nah nah nah nah nah.

Just kidding. I love when the Red Wings come to Denver. The intesity is off the scale. Avs may at least have a chance in the West now. Before the playoffs started, I didnt think they would beat the Stars or be able to beat Detroit, but now thats not an issue. Avs vs. Sharks would be a heck of a series. Go Avs!

So, Anaheim eliminates Calgary. 2 of the 4 Canadian teams in the playoffs are now gone (damn Hurricanes!). And so now Colorado will take on Anaheim and Edmonton will face San Jose. Any predictions? An Avalanche / Oilers conference final will kill me (being a nearly-lifetime Oilers fan and Colorado resident).

I was really hoping for a battle of Alberta...:( .but baring that I hope the Oilers make it to the 3rd round.

I didn't know you lived hear.

I'm betting:
Avs>Ducks, Sharks>Oilers

Avs>Oilers Avs>Eastern team

We'll see.

How gracious to cheer for the Oilers. I know it's hard (I've a hard time with the reverse) but if you can't bring the Cup home, bring it back to Alberta, eh?

You mean "Oilers>Sharks", of course...

And then Oilers>Avs... (hee hee hee)

onizuka and dejo. Are either of you going to the next Avs game at Pepsi Center? If so, maybe we should hook up briefly. That might be fun to actually meet someone from the forums. I'm in Colorado too. Just a tad bit south of Denver...

Go Avs!!

Go Avs!!

I'm going to game 4. Club level, row three, betweent he blue line and center ice.

I'm afraid that if I meet you, Mr. Durden, that one of use would die as we are each other's alter ego. And Dejo is obviously the one who constructed everything and his half hour babeling may cause me to no longer like his movies... :p

No, yeah, it'd be good times!

I may be able to get in one of the box seats. If it comes through, I'll message you and we can chance the whole "tear in the space/time continuom" thing by meeting "ourselves".

hmmm....When was the Penguins in playoff contention, :(

My 2nd favorite team is Detriot, but they lost some of my respect with the Fedorov trade. I like Anaheim, Buffalo, and Carolina of the one's left. So, hopefully one of my 5 teams will win!

I was actually hoping for another Avalanche - Wings battle for the West :D

hey ChrisBrightwell thought u should know that i got tickets to the first devils home game for the 2nd round....

Well, if Detroit had eliminated Edmonton, they would've faced Colorado in the second round. I would consider the Battle of the West to be part of the third round (the conference finals). This year, that'll be Avalanche vs. Oilers. ;)

Yeah, I'm aware...it is still nice to dream......

I think the Oilers are a much better team than their regular season shows with their acquisition of Dwayne Roloson at the trade deadline.

If the Sens don't make it I'll be cheering for both the Avs and Oilers. I'd probably get to see the cup again in person if either team take it as Rob Blake and Roloson are both from my home town. :)

Speaking of seeing the cup in person... A few years ago, after the Avs won, the coach (I'm drawing a blank on his name right now, sorry) passed by me on the hi-way with the Stanley Cup in the back seat of his car. What made it cool though, was that he was driving a convertible and the top was down. Everyone could easily see the cup sticking up in the back. That was pretty cool.
