So aren't the Pats just looking foolish in hiding Brady trying to make a story out of him being injured. I doubt anyone is buying it. Just makes them look like they are hiding things. People are saying that the Brady diversion is to take heat off of the Moss situation.

Lets say Brady really is hurt, what good will it do to let it fester a week. Either he's hurt or he isn't which is it. The only thing it is doing is making Bellicheck look like a weasel.

The only people making a story out of Brady, are the media. He's obviously not seriously hurt,or he wouldn't have been walking around Manhattan on Tuesday and Wednesday in cowboy boots. As far as the Moss situation goes....Most victims of an assault and battery make their first call either to the police or to 911.This one makes her first call to a lawyer.. That story dropped off the radar before the AFCCG..
For those who don't follow the Pats on a regular basis, which I'm sure are most on here, this is nothing new in regard to how the Pats handle injury situations. Been that way since he's been head coach....Not a story at all..The media has two weeks to fill.

Yes, fine, it's true that having the dolphins and jets in the division made for an easier schedule. But the Colts got the NFC south, the Chargers got the AFC west... and so on. The point is that everyone has some easy games on their schedule. And yes, of course, those easy games allow for error. But seriously, every team has those games, so unless the schedule as a whole is really easy, why even bother bringing it up?

Because something in my mind tells me that if the Jets and Dolphins weren't so horrible, one of them would have beaten the Pats at least once. You don't have to agree with me, but that's the way I feel.

And don't forget the 0-3 loss to Pittsburgh... :p ;) :D

Worst. Game. Ever.

When I saw that punted ball literally "stick" on the field, that was the final straw. It was 3.5 hours I'll never get back.

I hope that the Rooneys will finally put in a FieldTurf surface there next season, especially since not only the Steelers, but the University of Pittsburgh and local high school football teams use the field a lot during the football season.

Haha, you're not alone - that game was painful!

Well, they've swept them both before and not had a perfect season. And they've swept the Jets several times in recent years... Miami does usually put up a decent show and make it close but in recent years, it's been towards the end of the season and you wonder which team was putting out more effort if the number 1 seed and division titles were already decided (for or against the Pats).

Just saying that although I'm not a Pats fan, I still respect their achievement. Just think, at 15-1, how much credence would you give Pats fans for saying 'coulda, woulda, shoulda' gone 16-0?

SAINTS TO PLAY CHARGERS IN LONDON

When Drew Brees left the Chargers and signed with the Saints, he likely never dreamed that his opportunity to prove the folks in San Diego that they kept the wrong guy would occur on the other side of an ocean.

Kevin Acee of the San Diego Union-Tribune reports that the New Orleans Saints will "host" the San Diego Chargers on October 26 in London.

The game will be played at Wembley Stadium, the same venue where the Dolphins hosted the Giants in October 2007. There was some thought that the game wouldn't be played at Wembley again, because the slick soccer pitch coupled with a cold rain made the thing a sloppy mess last time around.

This time, the league wanted to provide England with a potentially high-scoring game, and the Chargers and Saints have two of the league's marquee offenses

Meaningless stats unless you include Superbowl appearances and or wins.

Come off it. In the post (return to) collective bargaining era of the NFL, it's an impressive achievement. And like it or not, Belichick is the primary reason behind this achievement.

Frankly, I tire of all the sour grapes.

It's a great achievement, I never said it wasn't. And when they go 18-1 I'm going to love it.

Great! Now our friends across the pond will get to see my main team get roasted by the Chargers!

you're a saints fan too? i thought the chargers should have lost a home game for this. the saints already have a home game that needs refunding back in 2005 when they gave it to the giants instead of putting it in a neutral site. total cheap shot nfl, bad call. i'm hoping this doesn't start 'la saints' talk again. that's just like the whole ny super bowl (if that happens, watch all the nfl teams and canada demand a super bowl). i'm proud of my saints, even though we suck about 90% of the time.

and of course the yankees-red sox angle is being played out as a hype story.

and the steelers-dolphins game was a total mess, what a disgrace that game was.

You know, while I'll benefit from seeing the game, I'm not happy that the Saints are giving up another home game. The Giants are due to give up a home game - they got one from the Saints after Katrina and another since the majority of 'neutrals' in London went Giants last year...

If I go to the game, I will be a Saint... although there's already some talk that a group of us will go to NO instead.... and watch it there! :p

Sen. Arlen Specter (R-Pa.) wanted to hear the NFL's explanation for the purging of evidence in the infamous "Spygate" case involving the New England Patriots. He wrote commissioner Roger Goodell on Nov. 15. He got no response.

Specter, the top Republican on the Senate Judiciary Committee, wrote Goodell again more than a month later, after getting no acknowledgment to the initial communication.

Two days before the Super Bowl, there is plenty of response.

In a phone interview Thursday with The New York Times, Specter said the committee at some point will call on Goodell to discuss why the league destroyed the tapes that revealed the Patriots had been spying on the competition.

The matter may not compare to the CIA's destruction of interrogation tapes, Specter said in a Friday afternoon conference on Capitol Hill, but he added, "I do believe that it is a matter of importance. It's not going to displace the stimulus package or the Iraq war, but I think the integrity of football is very important, and I think the National Football League has a special duty to the American people -- and further the Congress -- because they have an antitrust exemption."

Goodell, in his previously scheduled news conference Friday from Phoenix, said, "I am more than willing to speak with the senator. There are very good explanations why the tapes were destroyed by our staff. There was no purpose for them."

I would like to know why the NFL covered it up. What was the purpose in destroying the tapes.

The only thing I find suspicious is the timing, why wait till now. They had all fall to call for hearings.

Arlen Specter is pissed because the Steelers didn't make it to the Super Bowl.

Seriously though, I'm sick of Congress. They're a bunch of useless ****s. Instead of focusing on important **** like the economy, the war, health care, education, etc., they are meddling around in private enterprise (MLB and NFL). No wonder their ****ing approval rating is like 15%.

The NFL is a huge industry that makes billions a year. I think some oversight is a good thing.

Because Goodell wanted this to be a closed case. The Patriots got caught, the Patriots got punished. End of story. Especially since the tapes are gone.
Maybe there was more on those tapes that the NFL didn't want anybody to see (Bill Belichicks American Idol tryout). No sports league want to have a scandal. It hurts the integrity of the game.

And I agree with Yellow, don't senators have better things to do with their time?
