:D Got it working... no thanks to Yahoo! who came back 2 hours later to tell me that it was probably a problem with my ISP and their bandwidth. Um.. no. I did try that first. I'm posting it here just in case someone else ever Googles for Gamepass no video!

It turns out that if you've upgraded Quicktime to 7.2, you get left with two different plugins in your HD>Library>Internet Plug-in folders. One is a .webplugin and one is a .plugin. They conflict with each other so you end up with audio and no sound. Delete the .webplugin and ta da... video magically appears. I've still saved it just in case any other problems show up...

Still at least I'll get some use out of my subscription - I've pointed out the solution for Yahoo! for future reference - and asked them to refund 1/17th since I couldn't use it. Just glad my Niners are on tomorrow night!

I'm still bleeding from that rape job by the Pats....
Watch out or Brady will get you pregnant.:p:D

Kevin Everett had surgery Sunday evening, hours after the Buffalo Bills reserve tight end showed no signs of movement after sustaining a severe neck injury in the team's season opener against Denver.
Bills spokesman Scott Berchtold said he was informed by the team's medical staff the player went into surgery at a Buffalo hospital at about 8 p.m. Berchtold said he had no further information, and didn't know whether Everett had shown any signs of movement since he was driven off the field in an ambulance.
Coach Dick Jauron said immediately following the game that the player sustained a cervical spine injury, but wouldn't discuss the severity of the injury.

The player's agent Brian Overstreet was not immediately available for comment.

Everett fell to the ground and never moved after a helmet-to-helmet hit when he tackled Denver's Domenik Hixon during a kickoff to open the second half. Everett was placed on a backboard with his head and body immobilized, and carefully loaded into an ambulance at the Broncos 30.

Especially the one where Moss was triple covered.

Saw a repeat of that play in Buffalo. Talk about a surreal moment :(

Yup...it didn't even look like Moss was running hard...he just glided past everyone...it was awesome.

Also probably why everyone says he dogs it...crazy!

To me it looked like he looked up, saw where the pass was going and sped up to get under it. I yelled so loudly my neighbor came over to ask if everything was OK.

Go Pats!

Didn't quite manage to get up to watch my Niners at 3am my time! But I did record it and get up at 5.30 to watch it before work (skipping ads and annoying commentators). Most of it was so dire that I could probably have got up at 7.30, seen the good bits, showered and still left the house by 8!

Ah well... a win is a win, even if it's ugly!

But hey... 1-0 in Fantasy, still alive in survival and top of the pickems :D

SC just reported that Everett's doctor has said that Everett has voluntary movement of his arms and legs and he should be able to walk again, which is encouraging news.

Also, they said that the Goodell has determined the Patriots broke the rules by videotaping the Jets. He will talk to the Pats and get their side of the story before determining the punishment by this weekend.

Personally, I think this is pretty stupid on the Patriots part, but I don't think it made a difference in the game at all. It was some random media assistant on the sideline who was using the camera, not one of the coaches or players. I think he should be fired because he did violate the league rules and apparently he did it in Green Bay last November too.

But there's no way in hell that he was videotaping the signals, giving them to the coaches, who relayed it to the players all within the 40 seconds of the play clock to make a difference on a play.

Additionally, there's no way that "stealing signals" gave Moss the ability to burn triple coverage and catch a 51 yard touchdown pass or give Ellis Hobbs a 108 yard touchdown return.

Very encouraging and fingers crossed. Sometimes I think when we watch the game and enjoy seeing a good hit, we forget just how dangerous a sport football can be.

Um... except that it appears to have been a relatively well-known habit by the Pats which is why Polian banned cameras from the sidelines at the RCA Dome last year. And PFT suggests that the guy taping was then passing information to the coaches. It wasn't at all a random act by a media assistant for amusement.

No it doesn't detract from Moss's TD which was stunning - but how many other potential blitzes were picked up by putting in a better blocker, downfield passes thrown because they knew the Jets were going to load the box? It does tarnish the Pats general squeaky-clean image and hard-luck story made good. Friends and I used to joke about the Pats being jammy (or lucky - although I do accept that good teams do take advantage of any opportunity) - now it feels a little more calculated.

There's no proof of any of this outside of the game this past Sunday.

Anyways, it was a stupid move that they definitely didn't need to do to win the game.

They need to be punished for the fact that they violated the NFL rules by having a camera on the field. I don't think there's any rules against stealing signs, and it's just part of the game. But there is a difference between using the camera and just trying to figure it out with your own eyes.

Stealing signs has been a part of baseball forever. All you have to do is change up the signs during the game and the other team won't be able to figure them out. This goes on all the time in football and baseball. But they shouldn't be using cameras to do it since it's against the rules.

I'd really like to see Harrington do well for the Falcons, partly because it's pretty clear that this is pretty much his last chance. If he does all right between this season and next, I would expect to see him keep playing for another ten years or so. If not, I think he's probably done in the NFL. I don't doubt that he CAN do it--he grew tremendously when he was at the University of Oregon, which was the last time he was surrounded by other good players and an organization that supported him. Whether he WILL rise to the occasion is for him to decide, at this point.

Nice to see some Oregon State players on rosters, too. It's a shame for Dallas that they lost the waivers game with regard to Matt Moore, but that's how the business goes. It's better for Moore to be on a 53-man roster anyway. I'm also glad to see that Mike Hass is on the Bears' roster, and Joe Newton and Ernie Kent (from Oregon) are on the Seahawks' practice squad.

The same guy that did the Jets game, got kicked out of Lambeau last season for the same thing.

ESPN.com article said:
In fact, Green Bay Packers president Bob Harlan confirmed a similar incident that occurred when the Patriots played at Lambeau Field last Nov. 19. The same cameraman who was questioned by NFL security on Sunday was also the one whom the Packers removed from the sideline and escorted from the field during their 2006 game, according to Packers security official Doug Collins.

Oh yeah... 'cause the Pats REALLY need to steal signals to beat the Packers.

Frankly Belichick doesn't strike me as the kind of coach who needs to steal signals. Physically the Pats O-line is significantly larger than the Jet's D-Line. It's not like Brady didn't get hurried or knocked down all day.

As far as I am concerned, until this is PROVEN to be cheating, it's all speculation and all you people that hate the Pats are just looking for any excuse.

Well the commish seems to think it was cheating.
New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick apologized to his team on Wednesday and confirmed that he has spoken to NFL commissioner Roger Goodell about his "interpretation" of league rules that ban videotaping of the opposing sideline.

It was not clear what Belichick was apologizing for, and the coach repeatedly refused to elaborate on a one-paragraph statement issued 10 minutes before a regularly scheduled news conference to discuss Sunday night's game against the San Diego Chargers.

"At this point, we have not been notified of the league's ruling," Belichick said in a statement. "Although it remains a league matter, I want to apologize to everyone who has been affected, most of all ownership, staff and players. Following the league's decision, I will have further comment."

Belichick refused to elaborate on the statement several times during a news conference. After about 15 minutes discussing Sunday's game, he was pressed harder on his "interpretation of the rules," and the coach walked out of the room.

His statement follows ESPN's Chris Mortensen's report that the NFL is considering punishing the Patriots for spying.

Goodell has determined that the New England Patriots violated league rules Sunday when they videotaped defensive signals by the New York Jets' coaches, league sources told Mortensen.

NFL security officials confiscated a camera and videotape from Patriots video assistant Matt Estrella on the New England sidelines when it was suspected he was recording the Jets' defensive signals. Sources say the visual evidence confirmed the suspicion.

Goodell is considering severe sanctions, including the possibility of docking the Patriots "multiple draft picks" because it is the competitive violation in the wake of a stern warning to all teams since he became commissioner, the sources said. The Patriots have been suspected in previous incidents.

OK. Now there is single be proof that they don't play fair.

Care to elaborate on how this is "more"?

What other instances of unfair play are you referring to?
It has been suspected that the Pats have been stealing plays for more then just last weeks Jets game.

If the Packers and Colts have both proven it how many other teams have never noticed.

How do you think you'd respond if the dolphins, jets or the bills were doing this... still think you'd be as staunch-we're-not-cheating as you are now?
