Just a small, friendly reminder...
Phew – Mitty keeps his cards in his pocket on this occasion.

It isn't the fee (that was actually a bargain in some ways) but the wages. If he's on 45k a week that is some money. If Hull struggle or even go down you are stuck with a massive albatross around your neck. And he is almost 31...
I'd expect that – like our other players – there's a clause in his contract that will see him receive a pay cut if we do end up relegated. Such things aren't uncommon these days, especially for clubs at our level.

I've got faith in Duffen to be sensible when it comes to finances, something that I've not been able to say about previous regimes (prior to Pearson, that is).

Oh, and 31 isn't that old you cheeky so and so. :p

Grayson's shrewd loan signings Naylor, Dickinson and Trundle continue to impress. The march for 2nd place continues... Playoffs starting to look very reachable now, but I'm dreading another trip to Wembley. Top day out for all but we never ever ever win..

I finally got a chance to see Torres' assist on Gerrard's goal in the FA cup match - a fabulous piece of skill!

The Liverpool match is actually being carried on Fox Soccer Channel today (for once ), so I'm being useless today and staying home to watch.

Well, that was frustrating to watch. :(

We had our chances, we didn't take them. Wigan defended pretty well, and the penalty was definitely a penalty. I wonder if Benitez regretted taking Torres off after Wigan equalized...It could easily have been 2-2 had Gerrard's earlier chance gone in along with Rodallega's freekick off the bar.

Now, I wasn't expecting to match United's scoreline against West Brom, but at the moment United are playing like champions, and Liverpool are not on the same level.

Our problems arose from the fact that our 4-3-3 meant we had no width to speak of - whenever play switched flanks their widemen found themselves unchallenged in acres of space. Once we switched to 4-4-2 at half time we looked better and the side had more shape to it, but West Ham were well on top by that point.

It could in all honesty been a much heavier defeat, were it not for two men - custodian Matt Duke and the West Ham groundsman who gave the goalposts a fresh coat of paint earlier in the week.

Of course, this makes getting a result in this Saturday's match against West Brom even more important now...

So close, oh, so close... :(

Mmm we were pretty poor apparently. Still got to give it to van Persie at the moment, he is such a talented player. Another brilliant touch followed by such a sweet hit for the finish. Quality. Here for anyone that hasn't seen it.

Great point for the Latics today against 'Pool. Could have won it at the end with a heck of a freekick by one of the new boys, just hit the bar.

In other news, the battle of the big clubs, Wigan vs Hull has been moved to Sunday March 22 for Sky TV coverage.

Van Persie is pretty much single handedly driving Arsenal forward currently. Bless him

Ah, Miss Jaffa Cake mentioned it had been moved and we were wondering if it was on the telly. We're hoping to actually go to this match, I hope the change in date doesn't scupper our plans...

It's a shame I live in the US now as if I was still living in Wigan I'd love to go to that game.

I wonder how long you've been a loyal United fan....

21 years. I wonder how long you have been a arsenal fan?

I'll chime in, unlike most of you who only like to diss manchester united.

Liverpool played really well in the 1st half, but second half it was down hill.
Hull played well in the second half but they were just out-classed imho.
United played fantastic but it wasn't a real surprise to be honest. Glad were keeping clean sheets.

People are talking as if it's all over.... a game here and there and it can all change.

To be honest I've had Man U pegged for the title for quite a while now and I think this season is still too early to go for a big push. Depending on what happend with Hick et. al next season might just be do able.

Liverpool are succumbing to the problems of last season too many draws.
Big Phil is not going to make it.
Arsenal are not going to do it

It will have to be a game here AND there for sure in order for it to change. It's United's title to lose at the moment.

I think Liverpool can beat Chelsea in the upcoming match though - we've done it once already this season for starters. We had luck on our side at the beginning of the season, and now it seems to have deserted us, but we're still good enough to beat anybody on the day - we just need to do it more often!

To have drawn three in a row has sucked the wind out of our sails though - we need a morale-raising performance to keep our title challenge credible.

Depends if Rafa sorts himself out - some of his decisions recently re. team selections have been simply, well, bizarre....

If we get turned over by Chelsea I think that'll be us done for the season - unless ManU implode (God willing :D )

I have no need to answer that, Arsenal have been in my family as long as I know.

Just the way you said a couple of things and for some reason posted a massive picture of the crest. I'm now assured you are a bona-fide season ticket holder, who supports the team home and away. In which case I hope you enjoyed your visit to North London earlier this season..
