Yes, but (continuing your analogy) would you rather see a competitive AAA game, or a a major league spring training game where no-one is trying too hard and all the stars are out of the lineup by the midway point?

OK, I didn't know how that works in other sports outside the US. I probably incorrectly assumed that all the players would try as hard as they could, even though it's a friendly. Bad assumption most likely.

Yes, I like that idea. The reason I was stuck up on Arsenal or premier league was because that is what I have heard of over in the states. It seems to me if I were going to see a soccer match, that it should be from teams in the highest league.

Let me offer an analogy to those who watch baseball. Even though many minor league teams are competitive, fun to watch, and exciting, someone still might want to see a major league baseball game just because it's major league baseball. The caliber of players are higher, and all that good stuff. I definitely do want to see a soccer match, and I'm not at all against seeing one of the matches swiftaw suggested, but I hope you get my point.

going to see any match in the UK is going to be better than a aaa, aa, a single baseball game in the states. the rivalries, even at a "friendly", lend themselves to be very good matches most of the time. ;)

procuring tickets is going to be the real problem. most clubs, i assume actually all clubs, require that you buy a membership. then you get the chance to buy tickets. some travel agencies have package deals. i'd look into one of those first then go from there. the scalpers would be my last option.

Depends on the size of the club and the match in question – if it's Arsenal or Chelsea we're talking about then I'd agree, but for the Championship matches swiftaw mentions I reckon Badandy should be alright.

One thing though, Badandy – whatever you do do not go and see QPR. They're bloody awful to watch.

cool. then good luck and have fun Badandy.

and stay away from QPR for sure ... ;)

Markleshark, could you share your feelings towards C Ronaldo at this time?

As a Chelsea fan who's not Markleshark, so I'm not too sure why I'm replying to this post, I'm very excited :)
As a football fan, hm. Indifferent.
That wink will forever be etched into my mind.

It's a bit of a step up, and perhaps a spell at a Championship level club would have given him useful experience before moving onto employment in the Premier League. But he's got talent and potential, and he may very well do a good job for Blackburn. He's cut his managerial teeth in the lower leagues though, which is something I approve of.

Hopefully though it'll take a few matches for him to pick up his first win, though. Any match after their second fixture will do. ;)

Milan and Barca are still making eyes at Adebayor...what's the likelihood he'll still be at the Emirates next season?

If we get a decent amount of money for him, sell him. Provided we invest it in another striker - Villa please.

Also bring me Arshavin now.. we've been linked with him, I want him at Arsenal!!

Today, we have mostly been linked with Kris Boyd of Glasgow Rangers.

With quality pointing like that, I reckon he'd be a great signing. Forget all those namby pamby stepovers favoured by Ronaldo and similar foppish 'stars', proper pointing is the mark of a truly great player.

Blimey.

Meanwhile, my sources are telling me this evening that we're in advanced discussions with Alan Smith. I trust this is the player currently plying his trade with Newcastle United, and not the now retired Arsenal Player and Sky Sports pundit...

I'm not sure how he measures up when it comes to pointing, though. I'll have to look into this.

may not point much but gives his all. If you do get him, it will be a fantastic signing for you.

If what I've heard is true and he does sign, I can see some folk not being happy due to his Leeds connections.

But a proven Premier League player and occasional England international? Wouldn't be a bad signing at all...

Would be a very good signing.

As for tonight...

Fabregasss!!!!

I thought that a year ago...

I blame Sam Allardyce myself.

Meanwhile, I've got used to some sections of the media showing up their lack of knowledge of the mighty Tigers – understandable perhaps given that we've never been within a sniff of The Greatest League In The World™ before. A common example is seeing some of the tabloids using the wrong City crest when they're making mention of whichever Bolton player we're reckoned to be signing next. It's not an uncommon sight to see the 'Hinchliffe' crest used instead of our current one, which has only been our identifying mark for the past seven years or so.

However, the News of The World excelled itself this weekend by not only showing the wrong crest, but also the wrong team and sport. Rather than a magnificent Tiger-based badge, readers were instead treated to an image of the crest of Hull FC, our egg-chasing groundmates!

Honestly.

Hull AFC, Hull FC and Hull KR - if even the mighty journo's of the News of the World are confused, how will the rest of us cope?
