Teams won't be announcing their squad numbers for a few weeks yet they generally get the bulk of their transfer business done and then decide who'll wear what.
You've just done it so early to get one over on Spurs, haven't you?Got ours done already.
Walcott number 14.. at least that won't draw comparisons with a quittee famous footballer who wore that number before him!
I'm not impressed with the quality of his pointing, never mind his dodgy knee...

Anyway, today we have mostly been linked with ample-toothed Brazilian goal-botherer Ronaldo.

The local radio sports chap discussed it a couple of days ago... apparently his source is the one who said we were signing Juninho last summer. Given that it was only a disagreement on his personal terms that stopped that signing, it would seem to be a reliable source and that would add weight to this latest rumour.
I can't really see it myself, somehow. We'll see.![]()
Hmm... Manchester City have released Giovanni, who we're reckoned to be on the verge of signing. He's got form when it comes to scoring against Manchester United, so I reckon he'll bag us the winner against them in the last game of the season thus clinching us the title.![]()

Five Italian players have been charged over alleged match-fixing of last season's Serie A fixtures between Atalanta and relegated Livorno.
The charge relates to last season's home and away fixtures.
Atalanta's Gian Paolo Bellini and Livorno's former captain David Balleri have been charged with match-fixing.
Livorno brothers Emanuele and Antonio Filippini and team-mate Alessandro Grandoni, have been charged for failing to inform authorities about the events.
The two sides drew 1-1 on 23 December with the 4 May fixture ending with Atlanta winning 3-2.
Both clubs were also reported to the national disciplinary commission over the behaviour of their players.
I still can't quite get my head around the idea of us signing Brazilian internationals rather than chaps from Colchester United, but having thought about it a bit I'm quite liking the idea.
Pah no matter if he's not had a call up for a while. He's ace, we're ace and thanks to our lovely new shirts we look ace too.Be fair... former Brazilian internationals![]()

Looks sharp....I've always liked striped jerseys.
...Here's a trivia question (I don't know the answer btw):
When was the last time a team sporting a striped jersey lifted the First Division/Premier League title?
I can't wait for the season to start...which signings will pan out? How will the newly promoted teams (other than Hull, who are surely headed to Europe/top 6) fare?
An interesting question, and to be honest one I've had to consult the record books to answer. Unless I've overlooked anyone I think it's Sunderland, way back in 1935-36. Cripes! When was the last time a team sporting a striped jersey lifted the First Division/Premier League title?
It's a bit early to say as the transfers have really only just started taking place over the last week. Also, clubs towards the foot of the table are liable to do quite a bit of business late on, as the bigger clubs get their big signings in first and then make available players who then find themselves surplus to requirements.I can't wait for the season to start...which signings will pan out? How will the newly promoted teams (other than Hull, who are surely headed to Europe/top 6) fare?
I must confess I've not yet seen the new Wednesday home shirt I'm right in thinking though that the away shirt is a white affair as opposed to last season's orange?new wednesday duds are that: duds.
Indeed it's a return back to the sash style they wore in the 70s/80s. I think they look great, to be honest... we were chatting with some Palace fan in the pub before we played them last season and a couple of the lads had the adidas version (I can't remember which season they said it was exactly, but it was early 80s) and they looked well smart.
A proper classic, that kit.![]()
