Joey Barton- yea or nay?

Nay. The match commentators had a strongly negative reaction to his play against Arsenal, he got himself in a few tussles with Nasri and got the latter booked. I think Keegan is going to have his hands full and Barton will ultimately let him and the club down.

Now it's Robinho to Man City for 34 million. Madness, pure madness! Is this the money they were going to spend on Berbatov? Why don't they just make a bid for the entire Spanish Euro 2008 squad?:rolleyes:

Ah...oil money.

The BBC are reporting that Berbatov has had a medical at Man Utd without agreeing a fee or receiving permission from Tottenham. I fancy that the lawyers are going to do very nicely out of toady's transfer saga.

Indeed, Sky Sports News cameras have caught the sulk-prone Bulgarian skulking around Old Trafford with various Manchester United officials.

EDIT: Our chairman has apparently told the local rag that young Fraizer is heading to White Hart Lane as part of the Berbatov deal. Curses!

BBC Radio Five have just reported that Real Madrid have agreed the transfer - a British record, no less - of Robinho to Man City.

EDIT: Apparently the fee is €42 million!

...still no news on the Bulgarian...I prefer he didn't go to United but I have to think it was either Robinho or Berbatov, not both...

Staggering amounts of cash being tossed around here.

So United get their man after all for £30.7m and release Campbell on Loan. TBH i didnt want Berbatov to get the united deal but there you go. Also £32m for ANY player is just ridiculous.

£30.75 million plus a season long loan for Fraizer Campbell plus an agreement that Spurs won't pursue their complaint with the FA secures Berbatov's transfer to Man Utd.

Also, in one of those lovely coincidences that football sometimes throws up: Man City's next match, and potentially Robinho's debut, is against Chelsea.

I think today (or probably yesterday by now) was a harsh reality for Hull City Association Football Club. I think we relied too heavily on the signing of Mr. Campbell and we get left with a sulker from Rangers, OK he scored one good goal in a derby game in a second rate league a few days ago, Michael Bridges did that a few years ago, but doesn't make him a Premiership class player.

I really fear now that with the quality we have, it will not be enough come January to attract the players for that final push. We will have at least £5M to spend, but if no-one wants to come here, what is the point!

We needed an alternative to Campbell and we didn't get it. I doubt Phil Brown has been tracking Cousin for months and has a full dossier on him, I may be wrong but I doubt it.

I suppose the question is:

Are King and Cousin the strike force that will keep Hull City in the Premiership?

Oh ****.

Torres has torn his hamstring, and will be out for three weeks, Which means he'll not be match fit when he comes back, which means more than a month before we have any chance of seeing El Nino back to his usual self.

I hate to be alarmist, but I'm ready to scrap this season almost before it started. Benitez to win the sack race, Liverpool finishes 5th, Man City buys Torres, Gerrard, Keane and Carragher in January and Hicks and Gillette bring in Steve McLaren as new head coach with a transfer budget of 10p.

Game over man, game over!

How do you say "we are **** ed" in Spanish? That's Benitez right now.

No, you have to eat cheese, smell of garlic and surrender to Everton and relinquish all of your squad to them just after you say it. ;)

The Villa game was basolute pants!!! liverpool just doing nothing and boring :(

i agree with what you say.. but i hope liverpool still make it to champions league status again...although i cant see them doing very well this season!

i don't think robbie keane will shine much either.. he's the type of player that plays really well for a crappy team...

Nice to see Sir Alex got his man for a change. Can't help but think £30.75 million is a little too much.

Deal of the day? Robinho to City? Not quite, if he is as good a player as the 2 games against Liverpoor made him look then Marouane Fellaini to Everton is a cracking buy.

Robinho to City though... Thats unbeliveable.

Firstly, the SPL is not a second rate league.

Secondly, Daniel Cousin is a fantastic striker who did not always put out the goods for us because he wasn't happy and wanted to play in the EPL. Now that he has that, I have no doubt that he will be a great player for Hull.

If he is good enough to play for Rangers, he's good enough to play for Hull. Stop complaining.

Sorry, but the SPL is a second rate league. End of. Take out Celtic and Rangers and you have nothing.

However, I think Celtic and Rangers are quite easily on the level of a top half EPL finish, so Daniel Cousin should be a good buy for Hull.

Without young Fraizer I fear a Champions League spot may elude us. We'll just have to settle for the UEFA Cup, I suppose. ;)

I'm disappointed naturally, but hopefully Cousin can do a job for us. At least he has proven top flight and European experience, which despite his undoubted ability and potential Campbell does lack. I wish him well at White Hart Lane.

being a big red (Manchester United Fan) and loathing the blues (Manchester City), i'm glad they didn't get berba just to show them, they can't suddenly come in thinking they can snatch players off us! :)

Now i am really please they got Robinho from under Chelsea, poetic Justice!! :D

It's been a fantastic day yesterday for Manchester and it's sport.

No, sorry it is not. End of. Take out Man U, Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool and you have yourself the same 'second rate league' as us.

The only difference between our leagues is that up here Scottish youngsters actually get a chance, we refuse to pay ridiculous cash for players, and our Premier league is smaller.

And those are some of the largest clubs in the world :p
