Cowboys thanks for playing now here are your parting gifts. See you next year.:p

Oh lord it has begun already....

Ah! My favorite season of the year... Anti-Cowboy season! :D

The Cowboys and Raider fans (and owners) have the same personalities. Every year they go into the season expecting to win the Super Bowl. It's funny, they never have any realistic expectations. Each year when their seasons act out as every non-Cowboy or Raider fan expected they have these "what do you mean the world isn't flat, of course it is!" moments and the owners melt down and the coaches get fired and players start bickering... ah! I love this time of the year.

Ha.... No way are Cowboy Fans even close to Raider Fans. Just because we have a$$ for owners does not mean we are alike.

Ok, Miami has been teasing me. I thought maybe last week was just one of those games and then they lay a stinker against the Ravens.
I'm here to say we are back to our old ways and thus I will not let these losses effect me. Instead I will expect the losses and rejoice with the one or two more wins we may get this season.
Makes it easier on my heart.

Man, you guys think that you are "America's Team" and the Raider's think that they are "Raider Nation".

You both think that you have the most talented players in all of football.

You both have coaches that are in way over their heads.

You both remember the glory days when your teams were great.

You both have owners that meddle with day to day operations.

You are more alike a Raiders fan than you are willing to admit.

Haaa, "America's Team" I always hate hearing that. All the more reason to enjoy it when they lose.

The only thing I hate worse is "Red Sox Nation".

Plax acting up again..
BURRESS IN LINE FOR MORE FINES

Giants receiver Plaxico Burress, who has been fined more than Jon Gruden during a curse-free Lent, likely will be making more contributions to the charities of others’ choosing.

Burress and coach Tom Coughlin exchanged words during Sunday’s win against the 49ers. As one league source explained it, Coughlin chewed on Burress for the perception that he wasn’t trying. Burress fired back at the coach with one or more words not fit for the Disney Channel.

Burress also had admitted, according to Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Daily News, to confronting at halftime the official who flagged him for offensive pass interference.

After the game, Burress said that it was “one of the worst calls I’ve ever seen.”

“I never touched the guy,” Burress said.

Burress also was flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct two plays after the pass interference penalty.

“I said what I had to say to him,” Burress said. “He threw the 15-yard flag and moved on.”

But the league likely won’t be moving on. Burress now faces potential fines for verbal abuse and public criticism of a game official. If separate fines are imposed, the amount could exceed $40,000, based on similar fines that recently have been levied against other players.

It remains to be seen whether the team takes action for Plax’s verbal sparring match with Coughlin, which came immediately after Burress drew the unsportsmanlike conduct flag. The thinking in some circles is that Burress is still miffed about his one-game suspension.

As we hear it, the players have gone numb to his antics. The question is whether Coughlin feels the need to punish Burress again.

COWBOYS-YANKEES ENTER PARTNERSHIP

As if there wasn’t already a strong enough belief that Jerry Jones wanted to become the George Steinbrenner of the NFL, Jones is now working with the long-time Yankees owner.

According to Daniel Kaplan and Don Muret of SportsBusiness Journal, the Cowboys and Yankees have jointly launched a concessions company. The venture, named Legends Hospitality Management, borrowed $100 million several weeks ago.

The Cowboys and Yankees each own a third of the company; Goldman Sach has most of the remainder.

“Legends” will manage all concessions, suite catering, and team stores at the new Yankees and Cowboys stadiums, both of which open next year.

The company also will pursue contracts with other major-league sports, college sports, and sporting events in other countries.

Goldman Sachs managing director Gerry Cardinale saw Jones and Steinbrenner as similar, given their entrepreneurial approach to their teams.

For the casual fan who doesn’t care much about these business niceties, the mere fact that Jones is working with Steinbrenner is certain to fuel the perception that Jones would like to do away with the salary cap, and attempt to buy the best possible team each and every year.

Then again, Jones has spent a bunch of money on his current team. And he’s not getting much of a return on his investment.

Jones would love an uncapped year once the current CBA expires...

Redskinz>>>>>>_____(insert your team here)>>>>>Cowboys&Raiders

Er, is this supposed to be a drunken attempt at math? Redskins > (your team) > Cowboys or Raiders

LAME!

But seriously, this is probably my second favorite post -- ever! -- in this thread... all the others are tied for first.

I'm so glad the Niners fired Nolan...

When the thing your coach is best known for is his sideline suits, there's a problem. I used to spend part of every game wondering what the hell he was doing with the game clock management.

We'll see how Singletary does being thrown in at the deep end. While I don't doubt he has respect and is a great guy, it'll be interesting to see how that translates to being head coach.

On the 'Boys topic: I wish the networks would realize that the whole nation is tired of watching their sorry team every week. Can't the primetime slots go into a fairer rotation - or at least can't a certain undefeated team get a bit more airtime?:p

I am a huge football fan and have been for nearly 30 years, but for the life of me, I have not been able to watch that much each season until the World Series is over so every year I miss part of the NFL season. But the better part of the season, where division champs, playoffs, and Superbowl fall in is where I have a lot of fun.

Before I used to watch both sports in September and October, but I couldn't stand to watch NFL teams just getting their sea legs back and hearing premature comments about how this team or that team was going to go to the playoffs and be a dynasty. What I find fun about not closely following football in September and October is that some years I find out a backup player in some position is starting to look good for the playoffs, or that a team that was solid last year is failing or vice versa. While the changes seem glacial most of the time, it's nice to see new faces emerge every year in the NFL when I tune in after the World Series.

What I don't get are the sports people who can follow both sports religiously and tape stuff if they conflict and keep up on all the stats as to what a certain pitcher's era is, or what Ichiro's current on base percentage is to what team a backup qb got sent to and who the special teams' coach is for the Vikings. All I can say about the two sports right now is that the Phillies won game 1 with a 24 year old pitcher and that Romo of the Cowboys may be out for some time. :) Now when the world series ends, I can tell you how old Romo is and approximately when his birthday is and how many interceptions he has vs. how many touchdown passes he is projected to throw.

Anyway, world series will likely go to six games, but as to who is looking good for the NFL playoffs early, well ask me in November. :)

I just took a peek at the NFL standings. Titans, Green Bay, Steelers? wow.

I just saw that dante culpepper is wanting to return, that has to be one of the shortest retirements ever. who will he go to? any ideas? they are saying the chiefs.

Shortest retirements ever? Brett beat him by four months. Hell, I don't think Brett was retired the day he retired.

Culpepper, in my mind, is a has-been. He had two or three good seasons because of Carter and Moss and that's it. Carter retired and Moss left and so did Culpepper's mojo and career.

i agree with him being a has been, all he did for moss was throw it up and moss did the rest. The only good thing i can say about him is that he almost took the vikings to the super bowl but anderson missed the field goal :(

Uh huh......

Good lord,,, of course my favorite are the other teams that want to be like the Cowboys and the endless hatred by other teams who have year to year crappy seasons........ Oh that is right the Cowboys did go 1-15 in 89.. but at least we were still americas team!

Teehee... I love the endless bantering back and forth on who's team is better..... lol

Why would we want to see a team that nobody really cares about! :D Just because you have the one of the best records in the NFL doesn't mean we want to see em...lol... j/k

Corrected...

Seriously though, even if it's not the Titans it's not fair to the rest of the country that the Cowboys are a regular fixture on our Sunday afternoon/evening - Monday night TV

Sucks because I had Indy winning this and it made me lose the week in my betting pool. I was *that* close. Titans are solid, I'm just surprised to see indy fall this far.
