OK I'm a bit baffled today.

Admittedly the season isn't over, so they may not be putting the effort in yet, but how are the Packers ranked third in the NFC central on NFL.com's standings.

We've beaten the Bears so we hold that tie breaker, we split the Vikes, and we're ahead in PF and PA, and have the same division record and home/away record as the Bears.

I'm sure it's in the fine print but that doesn't seem right.

I never follow stats. the pack is obviously playing the best in the nfc central right now. narrow losses to good teams and some blowout wins. the pack is back

The NFC East is the toughest division in football right now. Giants/Eagles was more of a blow out then expected. Cowboys/Skins should be a great game.

Followed closely by the AFC East... if Buffalo beat Brady Quinn (I mean Cleveland) on MNF, then all four teams would, if they were in the AFC West, be leading that division.

That said, I am not sure how long my beloved Dolphins can ride their luck. In the last two weeks, they played two teams who had only won two games so far this season and managed to beat both by a mere two points (sweating it out late in the fourth quarter in each as well). Punt and kickoff coverage is looking shaky and I'm sure teams will exploit that soon.

Wow, the Skins have had three bad calls against them and it's only half time.

1. Ball down on one foot line.
2. Barber elbow down before TD.
3. Portis out of bounds with thirty seconds left in half.

The NFL really wants the Cowboys in the Super Bowl. :(

I hope Dallas plays just well enough to meet NY in the playoffs, and the Giants crush them again. Since my Saints suck this year (again!), I'm rooting for Cryin' Eli and the Giants to repeat.

excuse my ignorance, but how do you have a tie game, don't they just keep going?
Don't feel so bad. McNaab didn't even know the rule and he is a star QB.
"I didn't know that," said McNabb, who played a leading role in keeping it tied. "I've never been part of a tie. I never even knew it was in the rule book. I was looking forward to getting the opportunity to get out there and try to drive to win the game. But unfortunately with the rules, we settled with a tie."

HUGE game this week between the Pats and Dolphins. Pats lose and they're on the outside looking in.Not only in the AFCE,but for the playoffs as well..10-6 may not even get you a wild card in the AFC this year.

You got that right. Buffalo play Cleveland in MNF and Kansas City next week so not inconceivable that they win both of these games to go 7-4.

New York Jets have to try and hand Tennessee their first loss of the season at Tennessee so not inconceivable that they lose and end up at 7-4.

Miami and New England tied at 6-4 and the winner of that game next week goes 7-4. Loser goes 6-5 and finds themselves last in the AFC East.

I hope Miami can sweep New England this season, the 38-13 demolition at the hands of the 'wildcat' was the most beautiful moment of this season but I doubt New England will be caught out by it again in Foxboro.

It would be nice if Miami went to the playoffs after going 1-15 last year but I think it's asking too much down the stretch. At the beginning of the season myself and just about any other Dolphin fan would have taken a guaranteed 8-8 record given how most bobbleheads had the Dolphins down for no more than 3 wins, now we're harbouring dreams of the playoffs!

The game's in Miami ;)..If the playoffs started today, the Pats wouldn't be in. Simple as that. Not to mention the division losses, and the Indy loss, hurting the Pats in tiebreakers. This is when it gets good. From here on out,it's tough recovering from a loss.
Never pay attention to the mediots. After week 10 last year, none of them (or anyone for that matter) had the Giants even making the playoffs let alone winning the SB. It's not how a team starts,it's how it finishes that matters...

Well they were back this week, but inconsistency has been the name of the game this year. At least the NFL.com standings are now fixed and the Pack leads the NFC north at 5-5 with two other 5-5 teams there.

It'll be interesting in the playoffs this year. While a 10-6 AFC team may not make it the NFC north could field an 8-8 team or even a 7-9 team at this point.

So in a fantasy league where I NEED a win...

do I play Warner against the Giants D (which I also own) or wait and play Rodgers @ New Orleans on Monday night?

I'm swithering... part of me thinks that if at least if my D have a bad game, I'd get the points from the QB and vice versa but just can't decide.

But I have a Saints friend who is out in NO to watch the game and I'm not sure she's ever seen em win there so hmm.....

I like sports; I like professional football. I like to get to the stadium and see the games live, you know. And I paint my chest before I leave the house. But I don't have many friends, you know, so I usually just do punctuation and tack on a group already in progress. But sometimes it works out kind of weird because we ended up on TV one time and it said 'JETS?'

:D

Demetri Martin FTW

I wish we wouldn't get stuck with the Pats every week, I would rather have seen the Bretts play the Titans.

And surely if they end up unwinning (what is the opposite of unbeaten), the Fords will realise they have to clean house entirely? Those poor fans deserve some better luck.

Games are all unappealing this year - so much so that I'm not going out for dinner to watch em. Might still make a pumpkin pie for home but might just go to my Thursday gym class and watch the highlights when I get back.
