Well, in Tomlin's defense, the Steelers played like **** last week and definitely needed a tune up before the playoffs. Injuries are just part of the game. Sometimes you get unlucky.

At least they have a decent backup in Byron Leftwich.

Yeah, that's true. Hindsight is definitely 20/20.

I can't fault Tomlin..Every team that rested players going into last year's playoffs, were one and done.. I understand the logic. .Here's a take on it:
The Steelers, already locked into the No. 2 spot in the AFC’s playoffs, could not improve their playoff position by beating the Browns. But coach Mike Tomlin wanted Roethlisberger and the other starters to play most or part of the game because they won’t play again until Jan. 10 or 11.

Because the Steelers’ 31-14 loss at Tennessee on Dec. 21 made certain they couldn’t claim home-field advantage throughout the AFC playoffs, Tomlin didn’t want his regulars going three weeks without taking part in a game—even one that meant little to their season..

Could have said the same exact thing about the Giants last year. They had nothing to play for in week 16,yet everybody started and played the whole game. I understand the logic and can't fault a coach for that..

EDIT:pats win..Now Pat's fans have to root for the Jesticles :(

You need to start the players knowing they won't play next week. Even if you just have them play the first half.

Jesticles, don't you mean the Bretts. Anyhoo, go Fish. I want to see Pennington stick it to them.

New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady has fallen behind in his recovery efforts from knee surgery and could risk missing next season if another operation is needed, NBCSports.com has reported.
New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady has fallen behind in his recovery efforts from knee surgery and could risk missing next season if another operation is needed, NBCSports.com has reported.

Brady, who underwent surgery on Oct. 6 after tearing the ACL and MCL ligaments in his left knee in the first quarter of the team's first game of the season, had subsequent operations on the knee after it became infected.

That infection resulted in a buildup of scar tissue, which may require surgery on the knee, the Web site reported, citing an anonymous NFL source.
The scar tissue also has affected Brady's ability to begin fully rehabilitating his leg, the report said, and the repaired ligaments remain loose.

Another surgery also could be needed for that condition, the Web site reported.
Cassel anyone?

I'm just not convinced the Jets will be trying very hard. Miami have something to play for, the Jets don't.

Will the Lions manage to pull out another fast score?
EDIT - Nope but the Pack will  Poor Detroit fans

My Vikings friend is down to the quick of her fingernails :p

That report is false. Jonathan Kraft said on the WBCN pregame show that he has no idea where Tom Curran got that info
Do we know who to believe. The Pats won't say yes he is out for next season. I don't take the Krafts words too seriously.

That report cites the infamous "league source" You'd think after the Tomasse debacle back in February they wouldn't go to press citing a league source.. Add this to the long list of "Brady career is over/delayed/never the same etc etc" stories that I've seen since September. Unless I hear it from Foxboro,I don't believe it..I've been down this road WAY too many times before..

Lets say this is true, do the Pats still give up Cassel.

Vikings get in gracefully.

I'm just not convinced the Jets will be trying very hard. Miami have something to play for, the Jets don't.

to the contrary, the jets can still clinch if the ravens lose (not likely). but the jets may just mail it in.

bucs about to choke and lose to the raiders, and it's looking like the cowboys and eagles will be a winner take all situation.

Can this Eagles/Cowboys game end in a tie and neither team win.:p I really can't stand either team.

expect gruden to be fired. no way he gets away with choking two straight games to afc worst teams.

come on eagles, i'm sick of the cowboys soap opera. all they need to do is win and they are in the playoffs.

lions about to go perfect btw, 2 minutes away.

in other news, thanks to my saints blowing it against the panthers and losing (and brees not getting the record), the nfc south of 'worst to first' is officially over.

And Favre throws a wild pick  Mangini looks like he has a guy holding a gun to his head.

Gruden should be canned. Let's see if it happens or not..

The Bears,LMFAO...

Awww,poor Brett..Get over yourself for cripe's sake:
REPORT: FAVRE DOESN’T LIKE PLAYING FOR MANGINI

Apart from a nagging shoulder injury that has gotten worse over the past few weeks, a major factor that will influence whether quarterback Brett Favre will return to the Jets in 2009 is whether and to what extent he’s happy.

Per FOX’s Jay Glazer, Favre isn’t happy playing for coach Eric Mangini.

The problem? In Green Bay, Favre had his own set of rules. In New York, Favre is treated like everyone else.

He regularly is called to the “principal’s office” to answer questions about the basis for Favre’s in-game decisions. Also, Mangini has called Favre out in front of the team.

So if Favre plays next year, it apparently won’t be for the Jets

Favre is a freakin pre-madonna, Im glad to see him taken down a few pegs by Mangenius.
