there year I would expect to see very few if any no lose teams in the BSC. It already predicted teh game for 1 and 2 will have a least 1 lost. they are predicted 2 lost teams in the BSC is not more.

Reason being it just look at the big 12 and the SEC break down of teams. You have a lot high rank teams this year. each have I believe 4 in the top 10. Big 12 south has 3 schools in the top 10 and 4 schools in the top 20. Add ot that there are only 6 schools in the Big 12 south so that means all those high rank teams have to play each other. The Big 12 and the SEC are no questions about it the hardest 2 conferences this year. It is debatable which is better.

Big 12 with it high power offense or the SEC with a stronger defense.

Yeah, we hated we were paired with Hawaii last year :(

I think the Utes have a good team, but it will be tough to maintain focus all year. One slip and the polls are not as forgiving for the non-BCS schools.

And I want nothing more than to see Urban Meyer and the Gators get their comeuppance. How do you feel about him now??

I think Urban Meyer is still viewed as a Saint at the University of Utah. That being said, it would be fun to beat him the first time the two schools met, sorta just say screw you for leaving so fast. It would have been nice to to the BCS thing a few years straight, then the fight for letting a non-BCS team play in the NC game would have some traction. But as it stands there has been a different team each year, though two of those years it was a WAC team.

The Red River Shootout should be a great game
It will be interesting to see which team can impose it's will on the other
Colt McCoy and Sam Bradford are both having good years
I'm guessing Oklahoma has too much for Texas, but these games can go either way

I think LSU is going to show Florida just how far they have fallen
The LSU defense will key on Tebow like everyone else is... and it will be a long day

Tennessee has a way of playing their best games against the Dawgs
As bad a team as the Vols are right now, the Dawgs can't take anyone for granted

I hate to say it, but I tend to agree. We haven't had a consistent running game develop yet, and our secondary is still suspect. Against weaker competition it hasn't been a problem, but the OU D will eat us alive if we can't find any balance.

I think our D will keep us in the game initially, but I have a feeling our offense will sputter, or worse, turn the ball over, and eventually our D will wear out.

I think I heard on sports talk radio the other day that Colt McCoy was the Longhorns leading rusher... I'll have to check. I know it works (or worked) for Tebow, but McCoy isn't exactly built the same, and I dare say that Mack Brown doesn't think like Urban Meyer does about using the QB as your primary running threat.

Yep - you're right, he is. But it has more to do with his ability to scramble if he has the room. He's not an athletically gifted runner like Tebow, so we don't run plays designed around him running with the ball. Well not often, at any rate.

If anything it shows our ineptness in the running game. Colt is rushing for 63 yards per game. Our next best rusher is only producing 39 ypg.

Yep... but if he is scrambling around that much... it doesn't speak well for the offensive line

And I doubt he will be able to make that kind of yardage against the speed of the OU defense

Good luck on the game!
It should be a good one!

I need you both to lose to help out my Dawgs! Ha! Ha!
How 'bout taking out the Sooners and losing to Mizzou for me!
Can you help a brother out??

Heh! The good news is that he's usually not scrambling from defensive linemen. He'll sit in the pocket, and if the receivers are covered, he'll take off instead of throwing the ball away. Our offensive line has been doing a good job of protecting him. But you're right, the speed of the OU D will probably keep him from having a big game on the ground at any rate.

I sure hope I can take out the Sooners for you, but I think we have a better shot at a win against Missou. It's at home, and their D isn't nearly as good!

But that's the beauty of college football... you win the ones you aren't supposed to and lose the ones you are supposed to win :)

Must be hell being a Longhorn in Southern California (now that the Rose Bowl NC Championship game is fading and Vince is melting down in the pros... although Leinart flamed out too).

One of my teams is out.... The other is doing pretty darn well. Sorry bout the loss MacDawg.... But lets just say you have pretty much owned Alabama for the past couple of years. So one little loss to the Tide shouldn't hurt that bad. :D

Damn right! I love this sport more than any other. :)

What keeps it bearable is that we got the win. But yeah, it's tough. The wealth of the typical USC fan makes it worse, especially in a region where many people measure their self worth by their financial worth. I get it worse than most with my job, where I meet plenty of USC fans while at work. They're usually good sports about their loss to UT and we'll go back and forth with some good natured ribbing, but at the end of the day we both know that they're sitting in the back drinking martinis all the way to New York (or wherever), while I'm sitting up front driving them there.

Have you ever seen more acting in a college football game? I thought I was watching the NBA, what with all the players flopping around.

Colt McCoy got two roughing the passer calls just by falling down, and that OU punter was just pathetic.

I didn't really have a preference, but was hoping for a good game. All the pathetic acting really ruined it for me.

Texas' Colt McCoy impressed me. Good player.
My Canes finally one. I had no idea they have 17 players hurt and can't play versus UCF. We still can salvage this season, but....

Good for you iSaint! Thought about you!
I needed a win out of you... knew I could count on you!

So the Sooners go down... excellent
All the undefeateds need to fall

It will be interesting to see who moves into the dreaded #1 spot next

Wow, what a game. Yeah, lots of BS called by the refs. But I can't argue with the result! :)

Geez... give it a rest... you've made your point... you want a playoff
We can't help you with that

Yeah, ok - not. I don't think you'll get rid of me that easily. :p I'm going to hang out on this thread just to remind all of you that the BCS is all about protecting the Big Six Conferences and how it's inherently unfair to the other DIA teams out there. And my team is in one of those Big Six Conferences.

Definitely 'Bama as Mizzou just tossed an INT to seal the game for OK State.

#1, #3 and #4 all fall today.

I wonder if BYU will get bumped by Georgia and Florida? I think they should definitely be jumped by Florida after tonight's stomp of LSU.

I think they'll fall to #11.

My Boise State Broncos will stay at #15 on their win. I would say they might move up with Vandy's loss, but OK State will jump them for sure.

I want to know who will be the top 5 tomorrow. Missouri and LSU will fall out. That leaves room for Texas Tech, and #6 team to move in.

All I can say is it seems the Big 12 are the hardest confresses this year and of that the Big 12 south is going to be where most of the good games are with 4 out of the 6 schools in the top 25 and 3 of the 6 in the top 10 (and will stay in the top 10)

I think the SEC and Big 12 clearly play the most competitive ball
The Big 12 is now finding the balance the SEC has had all along where no game is a gimmee

I agree that 'Bama should probably move to #1, I don't think they are a clear choice... especially with their performance against Kentucky last week (who fell to SCarolina this week). Things are shaping up to be a year like last year... wild and crazy. #1, #3 and #4 falling on the same day... with #2 having a bye. Wow... All 3 games were surprises for me, but that is the beauty of college ball.

I don't see any of the current undefeateds remaining so... many of them still play each other

Alabama - Ole Miss, Tennessee, Miss State, LSU, Auburn, SEC Championship
Texas - Missouri, Oklahoma State, Baylor, Kansas, Texas Tech
Texas Tech - Kansas, Texas, Oklahoma State, Oklahoma
Oklahoma State - Texas, Texas Tech, Oklahoma
Penn State - Ohio State, Michigan State

BYU - Utah
Utah - BYU
Boise State - Fresno State

Boise probably has the best shot, and either BYU or Utah (but one of them has to lose). Do any of those 3 deserve a shot? In my opinion... no. They have not played the schedules the others have... not even close.

Of the remaining undefeateds... probably Penn State has the best path. But they will have to get past Ohio State.

Alabama and any Big 12 team will have a championship game tacked on too

Time for the Big 12 to start beating up on each other
It started this week

New Top 5???

1. Texas
2. Alabama
3. Penn State
4. Texas Tech
5. Florida

But not for long... that's for sure!
