Anyone have a prediction for the University of Utah vs. TCU game on Thursday? It's shaping up to be the likely decider of which outsider gets into the BCS this year. If Utah wins, I think they'll roll the last two games, if TCU wins, well they're not loosing any more after that, and I think they'll leapfrog Boise State.

I'm hopeful for my Utes, but feeling cautious.

I am A HUGE MICHIGAN STATE FAN GO GREEN. We will have no problem this week we have to play Purdue and in that Michigan almost beat them (And Michigan sucks this year) we should be able to dominate.

As for your question I think I like Utah they are pretty good

I think the Horned Frogs will pull out a really close one....though Utah will play a good game.

I don't know much about Utah so it would be hard to make an informed choice on this, but, that has never stopped me before.:p
I don't see Utah scoring more than 21 points in this game. The question will be if TCU's somewhat pedestrian offense can score more than 21. TCU's defense is terrific. I think it is Top 5 material, it's the offense that holds this team back. It's steady, doesn't turn the ball over, but it's not going to scare anyone.
Prediction - it's a close game till midway through the 3rd and then TCU's defense starts to close out the Utah offense and gets a couple of takeaways with the final score being 31-20 TCU.

I can't really say anything, since the Buckeyes haven't been playing their best.

I do think though, that Alabama will lose at least one game, before they complete their season. I do think that Penn State will finish undefeated. I think it might end up being at Gator vs. Nitty Lion Bowl Game. I can't stand the Gators, but its because one of my friends is a diehard Gator Fan.

TCU - Utah is going to be an incredible game. It's too bad I can't watch it.

I don't think I've seen a single "expert" pick Utah to win, so they might go in to this game with a bit of an underdog feeling with something to prove.

TCU has the ability to beat Utah at home, but it will simply come down to which teams show up. Either way I think it will be a low scoring affair.

SLC Flyfishing will you be there to give us a first-hand account of the game afterwards?

On a side note, I really want Ohio State to lose one more game. If that happens there's a pretty good likelihood of two non-BCS teams getting in. Honestly, I don't even care if one is Boise. I just want two to get in this year.

Speaking of the BCS, MAYBE we'll finally get some action on getting at playoff at the Division I FBS level. With Barack Obama wanting a playoff and now at least five prominent college coaches saying it openly, hopefully we can get a four-team playoff starting the 2011 season. :)

What does Obama wanting a playoff have to do with it??
I hope he has better things to do than be concerned about the BCS

I am betting we see ZERO non-BCS schools in the BCS Bowls this year, not 2

It wouldn't work out correctly under Barack though.

He would say that USC has won too many championships and they need to spread some of their "big-game" wealth around. Thus, their spot in the playoffs goes to the Toledo Rockets, a team that can't get a fair shake because of the fat cats in the BCS.

End of my rant. :)

Yes I will, I'm more excited about this than the elections !

I've got season tickets in the form of the MUSS (Mighty Utah Student Section) it's a giant moshpit every game!

And, if there are two non BCS teams to get in, I hope the other is Boise State, either way one should be them as long as they stay undefeated. If TCU loses, they'll fall out of contention, if Utah loses they'll likely fall out of contention. Boise State isn't going anywhere, and if they had any though games left they'd have an excellent chance of passing Utah and TCU regardless of the outcome of tomorrows game.

I'm not a betting man, but that is one bet that I would take in an instant! :D

Ha ha. Regardless of political preference, that was pretty funny.

Excellent! You'll definitely have to check in after the game and let us know how it was.

Yeah, at the beginning of the season I was really excited for the Boise State vs. Fresno State game at the end of November, but with Fresno imploding that game isn't nearly as exciting. If they could have kept things together they would have easily been ranked 15-17 by now. They were #21 in week 5.

Hey SLC Flyfishing, do you know if any radio station will be streaming the game broadcast online? I'd like to be able to listen to it if possible. Thanks!

I'll check in after the game as long as I'm not licking my wounds :D

And you can try this link to listen to the game online: http://kall700sports.com/ the home of the Utes, they've had all the games so far, and they'll carry this one obviously, but I'm not certain they'll have it online. I don't see why not, but I also don't know for certain.

Awesome. Thanks, buddy! :)

Tomorrow's going to be a crazy day. It's hard to imagine Utah is the underdog here, but because of that I think they're going to pull out the win. They're going to want to quiet all the critics, which is always great motivation.

Great game tomorrow night. Look forward to watching it! I think Utah will pull this one out. We'll see. :)

Wow.

I was excited for a night of great college football, but all I got in Salt Lake City was a sloppy high school game.

That was pathetic.

Utah didn't win that game, TCU lost it.

Congrats to Utah on the win, but again... Wow.

I beg to differ with Evilgeek, it was an amazing game. I don't have a voice left after that one.

Yeah it was a low scoring event, but that's to be expected when the #2 defense meets the #7 defense. I'll never doubt my Utes ability to pull off a win after this game. I doubted in the closing minutes of the Oregon State game, and I doubted in the closing minutes of this game. But my doubts were unfounded both times.

For what it's worth, Utah played a very clean game today, while TCU was punished heavily with penalties. That's what won the game in my opinion, there were a few times that TCU got into field goal range, only to be driven back by false starts. Once I believe there were three or four false starts on a single drive. They also missed two crucial field goal attempts in the closing minutes, if those were made (and they weren't long field goals) the game ends with TCU winning 16-13. We're lucky we've got Louie Sakoda, he made a 49 yard field goal today, and seeing it sail through the goal posts, it could have been 5 yards longer and still gone in easily. He's been the X factor all season for Utah.

The Utes finally played a relatively penalty free game, (I think there were three flags thrown against Utah).

Go Utes!

well since this weekend I will be out of town and will not have access to a TV I have set my DVR to record the Texas Tech vs OSU game for me.

It should be a good game.

I was at the Utah game last night and it was incredible. I just love those nail-biter games, and that was one of the best ones I have seen in a while. Go Utes! Although I have to say, I feel pretty bad for TCU's field goal kicker now. He probably is going to get reamed... :(
