I beg to differ with Evilgeek, it was an amazing game. I don't have a voice left after that one.
Yeah it was a low scoring event, but that's to be expected when the #2 defense meets the #7 defense. I'll never doubt my Utes ability to pull off a win after this game. I doubted in the closing minutes of the Oregon State game, and I doubted in the closing minutes of this game. But my doubts were unfounded both times.
For what it's worth, Utah played a very clean game today, while TCU was punished heavily with penalties. That's what won the game in my opinion, there were a few times that TCU got into field goal range, only to be driven back by false starts. Once I believe there were three or four false starts on a single drive. They also missed two crucial field goal attempts in the closing minutes, if those were made (and they weren't long field goals) the game ends with TCU winning 16-13. We're lucky we've got Louie Sakoda, he made a 49 yard field goal today, and seeing it sail through the goal posts, it could have been 5 yards longer and still gone in easily. He's been the X factor all season for Utah.
The Utes finally played a relatively penalty free game, (I think there were three flags thrown against Utah).
Go Utes!
