Yes, Michigan State Sucks!

They would come out 4th in the Mountain West Conference this year (if they could beat Airforce). Penn State would take 3rd behind Utah and TCU.

SLC

7th best defense in the country, best running back in the country, and 4losses for a combined 12points...yeah sucks

it is okay, your mormon scrub conference teams can keep jerking each other off, while the rest of the country laughs at them.

you know, not every team intentionally schedules cupcakes like coastal carolina (seriously who are they?) as a first game

while michigan had an off year, it wasnt expected and guess what Utah had the confidence to play a supposedly "powerhouse" and beat them in "the big house" lol

whats that say about the programs with their non conference schduleing mindset ha

the last thing the BCS needs is another Big 10 no show. BRING IN THE NEW BLOOD!!!!!!

...as opposed to the Utes playing Weber State later in the season??

Yes that's right. We scheduled a tougher D2 team, at least Weber State went 9 and 3 this year, while the Chanticleers are 6 and 6.

Plus, Weber state employees an old University of Utah coach, so if we're going to schedule a D2 team, it's likely to be them every time.

Sorry but that's a weak argument!

Weber State even has a better record than Eastern Washington (Tech's D2 opponent). Though they did lose to them this weekend by 7.

This kind of argument can go around and around, but nobody can take away from Utah's season this year. Especially not when they're likely to be the only undefeated team in the whole BCS this year.

This is great.. love all of the chatting and rousing going on. This is why I love college football. My team is better, my division is better....

Keep it up, just keep it civil. Don't need this one shut down because some one can't hold there college football liquor.

I'm not trying to make an argument for or against Weber State or Coastal Carolina!! I was just mocking the fact that someone is justifying Utah having a tougher schedule than Penn State because Penn State played Coastal Carolina.

Come on man, we are all sick of hearing about Utah's strength of schedule. Woo hoo they played a few ranked teams and won.

Looks like USC will be set for a while:

4 of the top 15 Rivals100 including Matt Barkley, number 1 prospect overall. All four are 5 star recruits, and that is for 2009. For 2010, we already have the nations top running back prospect.

SLC, his point was that while you may have won some games against some alright teams, you just don't belong in the upper echelon of college football, yet. You know, with Alabama, Florida, USC, and the Texas. Even though most of these teams have a loss (excluding Alabama), they're proven. We know who they are. Games that are universally regarded as flukes really shouldn't be taken the same way a normal loss is. We know, for example, USC has the fastest and best defense in the nation, regardless of the strength of their conference. We all know Florida has the fastest offense in the country, even though they lost a game. Everyone knows USC is a better team than Oregon State. Everyone knows Florida is better than Ole Miss. Almost everybody (excluding people from Utah) thinks that USC is better than Utah (even with a loss) and that Florida is better than Utah (even with their loss).

and this same logic is what gets applied to TT a little bit

must suck to not be a "traditional" football school lol

You do realize how stupid that makes you sound right?

SLC

Yeah, but you're the dumbass justifying Weber State over Coastal Carolina. It's 1AA game, they are all cupcakes!!

Look I'm not trying to hate on Utah, but I really have a hard time qualifying the other MWC ranked teams Utah beat as ranked teams. For one reason only, I really do believe they play no one. Yes, Michigan was ranked when you beat them. Yes, Oregon State is now ranked and you beat them. Those are both quality wins.

I just don't want people pretending like the MWC is some powerhouse and gives a huge strength of schedule bump. Sure, TCU had the number one defense for a while. Anyone could do that when you are playing powerhouses like San Diego State, Wyoming and UNLV.

All this being said, I want you guys to get your BCS game so one way or another this can end.

I mentioned this earlier but it was passed over, so I want to ask it again.

Keep in mind I'm not trying to discount Utah in any way, but I'm curious what other Utah fans think about BYU's early #9 ranking. Were they just completely overrated, or did they deserve their top-ten ranking?

i believe they deserve it. not only have they been a good football team the last couple years but opened the season with a bang

2008: 10-2 so far
2007: 11-2
2006: 11-2
2005: 6-6* Bronco Mendenhal is new coach
2004: 5-6

as you can see, the new coach has turned the program around

bowl games (Las Vegas Bowl)
2006: BYU beat Oregon 38-8
2007: BYU beat UCLA 17-16

Then look what they did this year, notably back to back games against UCLA and Wyoming. When BYU was ranked 7th, they were 4-0 and had dominated everyone so far except washington. They then went to 9 the following week even though beating Utah State badly and didnt really fall until the TCU game

all that matters is that psu is ranked 6th in both the ap and usa today polls, people who actually know about football, unlike some **** ass computer system.
i think 5-10 should be:
5. texas tech
6. psu
7. usc
8. utah
9. osu
10. boise

only reason i have utah ranked better than osu is because they went undefeated, but in reality osu would beat utah.

I agree that BYU has been doing great the last few seasons, but I can't help but feel their top-ten ranking was a little premature.

The reason I say that is because they've only really faced two quality teams this year, and they got embarrassed in both of those games. Regardless of Hall's poor performance in Salt Lake, the BYU offense is explosive, but when faced with a strong defense they collapse. A top-ten team has to have a great offense as well as a great defense.

all that matters is that psu is ranked 6th in both the ap and coaches polls

Actually, I'm pretty sure the BCS poll is the only one that matters. And that poll has Penn State comfortably behind Utah and Texas Tech.

Wow, we're into some serious trash talking now

Forget all this talk about USC, Utah, Penn State, et. al.

The REAL question is... who the hell is going to win the ACC??

Good luck RamblinWreck... uh, not Saturday, but in the ACC

how come that same logic doesnt apply to utah being over PSU;)

Penn State over USC in your little mock poll? Laughable.

Our two conferences may be **** this year, but your conference, even on good years, doesn't compare to us.

All right! Now THIS is some good smack! Keep it up guys.

It's 5:07pm and OU still sucks!

always have and always will.

I am a huge OSU fan come this weekend.

OSU wins TT has a shot at the NC. There is no debate this year that the Big 12 vs SEC should be who it comes down 2. Those to conferences clearly are by far the best. At one point the Big 12 and SEC (and still should be that way) control the top 5. I also believe at one point between the SEC and big 12 they had 7 of the top 10 teams per the BSC.

You guys DO realize you are fighting over who should be #6, #7 and #8...

I don't think they sell those foam hands with that many fingers to wave ;)
